It's totally a NPC of one of my DnD campaigns (I'm the DM)!

He's a male drow raised as a bodyguard for his sisters/mother in a very unhealthy way. He have been saved and adopted by one of the PC, and he would give his life for her at any time. She is herself a tank (dwarf cleric), and even if he does understand basic strategy and that she doesn't technically need a protector in a fight, he just cannot leave her side. He wasn't raised to show his emotions, and protecting other is, as far as he is, his only way to show thankfulness and friendship.

Also, he's a wizard who can fight in close-range. It just took a rulelawyer and some homebrew.

I love a character raised to be a weapon as much as the next guy. But what really gets me is a character raised to be a shield. Who can’t fathom being needed—or even being wanted— beyond keeping others safe. Who believe they are alive only to insure someone doesn’t die. no matter the cost. Characters who self-sacrifice not because they think they deserve it, but because no one else does deserve it, and it’s their job to protect.

Characters who’ve been told that’s why your important. Your worth something because this other person/ thing is important, and you are here solely to keep them safe.

Bonus points if it’s not a legitimate job they’ve been given. Maybe at one point it was, but now that they are free from it, they haven’t given up that mentality. No one is forcing or asking them to do this, but they need to. They need to in order to be deserving.

Greek mythology Zodiac 4/12; Cancer

So... the cancer origin is quite ridiculous to be honest.

Apparently, while Heracles was fighting the hydra, Hera sent a crab (like, a normal crab) to disturb him. The crab attacked the heel of Heracles, and the hero just… smashed the crab with his feet.

And Hera, to thank the crab, sent it to the sky… Hero at his own scale I guess?

Do you like crab flesh?

Greek mythology Zodiac 3/12: Gemini

A tricky one!

You see, in greek mythology, Castor & Pollux are refer to as the horse tamer and the pugilist (someone fighting with the equivalent of knuckle-duster). And I couldn’t find a way to put these two AND their symbols. So I ended up putting only the symbols.

One of my OC’s, Cawos, is a shadar-kai (the fey type, basically a fey with soul ashen by the shadowfell) kidnapped rescued by the party. His past still is a mystery and he was serving a leader of the Dragon Cult as her dog assassin, convinced that she was so kind because she didn’t kill him while all other want to kill him at sight, and also he don’t remember anything before her.

So…

A meme I made from the first session of my Tyrrany of Dragons DnD campaign!  The first combat ever of the campaign was against kobolds, and one of them threw a bag at the feet of Farkyan the half-dragon. Hearing a faint "bzzz", Farkyan first thought was that it was a bomb, and heroically jump on it to protect the people around him... only to understand a moment too late that it was a wasp nest in the bag, and to take the maximal damages. I'll also add that this player asked me specifically to add more pretty easy encounters that in the precedent campaign because, even if epic battle are great, it's cool to feel powerful by destroying weak monsters. Well, here's the powerfulness I guess.
