I’m happy to announce that the recording of the audiobook for Simon Sees has been completed and approved! And, yes, for those wondering, this is what that cryptic clue in that earlier post was all about. Fun?!...
Anyway, here’s the cover:

Simon Sees is the follow-up to the novel Simple Simon, which became the movie Mercury Rising starring Bruce Willis. Don’t worry if you haven’t read/seen that one, you can start right here and still enjoy it! That said, I’d highly recommend you check it out (along with all of Ryne’s books). He’s an amazing author.

Tried & True Audiobook Review
Tumblr media
A quote from the review:
“This is a great series in audio and it’s my favorite way to enjoy the THIRDS. Mark Westfield knows these guys so well, he keeps each character unique and brings a special intimacy to their relationships. I love how he infuses them with so much personality and brings them to life. I swear each book is better than the last, between the special effects and the way the story builds, it’s a wild ride!”

Cryptic Clue
A few posts ago (in the one with the microphone picture) I mentioned that I’m hard at work on a new audiobook. I promise that all of the details are coming soon - including the cover reveal. For now, though, here’s a super-cryptic clue...
Tumblr media
If any of you can figure out what book it is from this clue, I’ll not only be incredibly impressed, but I promise that you will get one of the free copies (hint, hint about free copies being available soon!). Heck, if you actually see through this craziness, I’ll also post about your brilliance in the blog.
Send in your guesses!

Free Audiobook Offer
So, in the last post I promised more information on FrostBITTEN. And here it is...
I love well done horror, but it’s pretty rare. And, I’d say, even harder to find in the zombie genre. Characters go under-developed (if developed at all), and the story is often nothing more than bites and fights. (If I’m actually the first to coin that term, my life is now complete!)
The “One Nation Under Zombies” series, of which FrostBITTEN is actually Book 2, truly bucks those trends. Characters you’ll care about and get to see grow. Well thought out plot lines. Everything you could want from a well-done horror series. I’ve had a blast narrating them both, and I think some of you might enjoy listening to them.
So, anyone interested in a free copy of Book 1 (Mail Horror Bride)?
Tumblr media
I have a limited number of free codes to give away. So, if you are interested, hit the “Ask Me Anything” button and let me know. All I ask in return is that if you enjoy it you leave a review and, hopefully, stick with the series!

Gummy Bears & Grenades Audiobook Review
The awesome people at KEBB have posted a really nice review of the audiobook for Gummy Bears & Grenades by Charlie Cochet.
Tumblr media
It was really fun to narrate and I’m honored that the review contains such nice comments as:
“Gummy Bears & Grenades is three and a half hours of hilarious! Mark Westfield is at his all time funniest narrating this one, and it was a pleasure to just laugh the whole way through. All the players make an appearance and lay some groundwork for future episodes in the THIRDS series.“

A brilliant book to help us all gain perspective.
“When the relationship between a millionaire and his wife is going through a rocky patch, he takes her on an expensive trip to Paris. The trip is not a reflection of some independent desire, but rather of an ardent belief in the myths of romantic consumerism. A wealthy man in ancient Egypt would never have dreamed of solving a relationship crisis by taking his wife on holiday to Babylon. Instead, he might have built for her the sumptuous tomb she had always wanted.
Like the elite of ancient Egypt, most people in most cultures dedicate their lives to building pyramids. Only the names, shapes and sizes of these pyramids change from one culture to the other. They may take the form of a suburban cottage with a swimming pool, or a gleaming penthouse with an enviable view. Few question the myths that cause us to desire the pyramid in the first place”

I’m the one writing?!
Hmm - usually someone else (with actual writing talent) crafts an amazing story, and I just read the words into a microphone. Not a bad life at all. I’m incredibly lucky and thankful to have been able to narrate nearly 100 audiobooks to date and hope to continue this amazing path for years to come.
I’ve been asked by some awesome listeners about my social media presence, to which I have answered something along the lines of “I like talking into a microphone!” They were not as impressed as I expected them to be. Time to change that.
This blog, if any of you care to read it, will share my thoughts on narrating audiobooks, announce upcoming projects, and, from time-to-time, offer you chances for free audiobooks. Thanks for being here!
