It’s Cancer!

Three paintings meant to be read together depicting my childhood psychosis, in which I thought I had cancer when my breasts started developing. I had decided I couldn’t tell my parents and instead would freak out and try to think of ways to cut the “cancer” out.

yeah, don quijote was written as a satire of the most popular books during the time It was written, "los libros de caballería". they were all the same, about cool knights etc etc (it would be todays equivalent as colleen hoover and those typa books). Cervantes (the author of the novel) was so tired of them that he created the character as satire and a way to criticize these genre

The Quixote came up today in class and I can't stress enough how interesting this novel is when the Quixote is not "just a mad guy" but the representation of another concept of knowledge and truth, and a member of a social class that has lost relevance during a period of changes in power structures. A period during which he was inside his house reading books about knights. This man hasn't worked a day in his life and much of his interaction with the world can be explained by that.

His clashes with the world aren't a question of mad versus sane, but the clash of different paradigms altogether.

i'm currently rewatching adventure time and thinking about how ice king's character is portrayed (before we know anything abt Simon).

maybe the reason why he was always kidnapping princesses is because deep in his heart he was searching for his betty.

maybe the reason why he loved gunter so much as if it was his own son is because deep in his heart it reminded him of marceline.

he didn't know it because he was ice king, but deep in his heart there was still a simon, a simon who knew it all

it is so random to me that the woodsman from otgw doesn't have a ship (or at least a widespread ship) with the beast because the toxic dependency relationship they have is so powerful and has such a potential, like, wdym a doomed scientist gets to have a mainstream ship with a fucking triangle but they don't???
