Lucien is sweet and kind in a way that none of the other male characters of Acotar are. All of these horrible things have happened to him, his friends and family have betrayed and thrown him aside multiple times, and he still wants to help. He still wants to fight for those who are even weaker then him, and just be a good person regardless of how it could benefit him.

He has nothing and no one and he still tries.

I feel like we don’t talk about how great Lucien is as a character, like, he is by far one of the characters with more plots on hold than any other right now, and his personality is a combination of sassy and sweet, he is observant and really respectful, I wish people recognized him more because he is truly a great character.

Lucien is holding this whole shit together now I swear. Imagine if he were gone, then:

Tamlin would be in eternal beast mode and the Spring Court would be even more at risk.

Lady of Autumn and Helion wouldn't have that connection despite being apart.

Day Court wouldn't have an heir.

Feyre and Rhys would have to, idk, learn actual diplomacy.

Jurian and Vassa would be able to bang without Lucien around but I'm sure they would still appreciate the friendship.

What would we do without the firedick jokes?

The sass, I would miss it.

The fashion sense??? Unparalleled.

He is so patient omg, so many people in the story are only where they are because he put his ego aside to help them.

I just really love his character. To me, his story is pretty clear, but I can't wait to read it. Like with nessian, we knew they would end up together but the journey was still exciting. With Lucien, I am positive that he will learn about Helion and 99% that he will end up with Elain, but I still can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Why do you like Lucien so much? He’s okay but...??

He’s more than okay, ‘nonnie.

So, it’s no secret I love snarky and sassy characters. In ACOTAR, I was rooting for him the whole time. I was in love with him more than Feyre was “in love” with Tamlin. He’s loyal, he tries so hard to be a good friend and so hard to be kind. He grew up in a shitty household and had so many terrible experiences with the people around him but didn’t let those experiences turn him into a monster. 

He’s smart, thoughtful, diplomatic, and level-headed. He’s respectful even when people are being assholes to him (which let’s be real, is most of the time). I could go on and on about him but the bottom line is, Lucien is a good man. One of the best in the series tbh. He’s the best boi and I love him. I really really really hope SJM gives me all the love he deserves in the future books. 

The scene of Lucien forcing Cassian to calm the fuck down in ACOSF alone had my love triple for him. High King shit and a whole lotta BDE.

i totally second this also remeber how, despite all that, f*yre resented him for not (most likely) getting killed had he broken her out of the spring court and then when r*ys straight up said he couldnt forgive lucien for how he "treated you [f*yre] after under the mountain" after his own behavior there ? and not to mention, do yall remember that scene in ACOMAF when lucien was trying to convince tampon to let feyrug train and then yalls highlady thought this "I didn’t want to know what was happening in that room, what he’d done to Lucien, what Lucien had even looked like to cause that pulse of power.” ? basically saying she didnt wanna know how bad Lucien looked after his "best freind" beat his ass? bc i do, and im never letting it go.

Hey remember how snarky and sarcastic Lucien was in ACOTAR? Remember how caring and loyal he was towards others? Remember how he got the emotional crap beat out of him by people he thought were his friends? Yeah.... I do.

not the fact that i just got my ass beat in a comment section for saying a similar thing lol. someone was wondering why feyrug was in "illiryain form" when they conceived the baby and shit aint never sat right with me so i was basically explaining that it was disrespectful of her and insensitive of the struggles illyrian women go through. someone asked replied to me saying "who hurt you" and another told me i was the type of person to try and cancel the freckle trend. which, what ?? but anyways the illiryan women get their wings cliped for being women and cant ever fly or be fully intimate with a partner and then the feysand duo straight up use it as a kink. like i can almost understand her using them for survival, but literally any other pair of wings would have done a fine job. i just aint think its right of her to have used them to begin with when she could have just manifested literally anythiing else, but them being used for wing play crossed the line imo. shit felt tone deaf and idk bc it was framed as such a big thing for rice cake to be comforatble enough to be with feyrah and have them visible; so it just being made into some toy later was just... i mean to each their own, but it just doesnt seem right to use sumn that doesnt belong to her. just imagine emerie finding out about it, how would she feel ? im no longer surpsied by this kinda thing but i feel for em and all the other illyrian women who have a highlady ignorant of their struggle when that same highlady most likely wouldnt do it had she known the signficance or damage she could cause. i think it unknowlingly hurts feyrug's image, bc while shes not the saint shes written ot to be, shes better than this. but no one really seems to notice or care bc the narrative of illriyain women exists in the back ground of the story and is mainly brought up as an issue for resse's peices to solve.

thinking, again, about how illyrian wings, obviously a great source of cultural significance and pride, were simply taken by f/eyre and slapped on to make her look more badass and powerful, despite the fact that she was and remains uneducated on how they were significant to the culture they came from.

thinking, also, about how illyrian women born with wings are not allowed to keep them or use them, and how this signifies a massive societal struggle in their community, but f/eyre is allowed to take them and use them to play savior and then be praised for it by everyone else, when that struggle still exists and she has done almost nothing to help create lasting and constructive change or advocate there.

I'm sick of seeing people slander Lucien for "not doing anything" while Tamlin abused Feyre. You really think the male who screamed to save Feyre's life in the Wyrm trial, where the woman who carved his eye out with her fingernail and abusive family who killed his lover were all there, wouldn't stand up to his friend who was abusing Feyre?

You really think the male who risked his life multiple times to heal her after her trials and received twenty lashings for saving her during the Wyrm trial would refuse to protect her to the best of his ability afterwards?

Are you forgetting that nobody dares step up to rHyS because what High Lords say goes?

Are you forgetting how Tamlin treated Lucien in ACOTAR? Are you forgetting that he left the Spring Court too?

Are you forgetting that he said he did all he could, but if Tamlin can lock Feyre up and ignore her trauma, he can treat Lucien just as awfully over the hundreds they've known each other?

Lucien genuinely hasn't done anything wrong. At all.
