Updated refs for Aylin and Caelius!!

Aylin got a few design tweaks, and both of them got fresh new backgrounds and an updated font that'll match the dialogue bubbles for pages once I get around to posting those again.

As with the last time I posted their refs, Aylin and Caelius are up on Artfight this year!! :] if you wanna draw either of them or just poke around, you can find me there @ brewbug!

this was intended to be posted last month on the 20th to commemorate the passing of the first year since i posted the very first page of Reforged online, but i didn't quite finish them in time and never got around to finishing the post 😔... BUT HERE IT IS NOW!

At the start, I never planned to share Reforged with anyone. It was intended to simply be a creative outlet designed to help me work through some stuff I was going through at the time. But as I poured more of my heart onto the page, I began to share the story with those closest to me. It's still kinda crazy to me that I've actually decided to post the story online? I still have a long way to go, but rest assured this is something I will see to the end in one way or another no matter what. :]

Updates should hopefully begin again soon! I'm going to work on building a buffer before I start releasing pages again, but at the moment I have four scroll format pages ready to go!! After that, I'd like to switch to page format instead, which will (hopefully) mean I can start posting updates directly here on tumblr!! :D

@doedreamiing and I are putting the final touches onto our Discord server, Crowberry Comic Connection, and have some exciting news! We will be making it public on September 30th, and we had some time to put together at least something for the opening:

Crowtober, like any other October art thing, is a list of prompts to use as inspiration to create! Though we focus on comics, feel free to do just about anything else with these (we'd certainly love to see some story-based pieces, though!)

Do as little or as many as you want. Please do not burn yourself out. We recommend choosing just prompts that you find most interesting, and can have the most fun with!

We wanted a lil something to start the server off, and wanted to post a bit early as a teaser (and to give some heads up). You absolutely do not have to join the server to participate, this is merely a prompt list and you can really just do whatever you want with it. Nothing needs to be polished, don't feel pressured to do all 31 days (we both certainly will not be doing every prompt), just have fun with them!

hey everybody!

first off, i’d like to say sorry for the radio silence, and let you all know that, unfortunately, i won’t be updating for a while still. without getting too far into the details, my cat has had some unexpected severe health issues come up these past couple weeks, and the whole thing has been very hard on me and my ability to work on my creative projects.

i’ll be doing my best to keep up with my work on Reforged and continue to build a buffer as best i can, but the majority of my free time will be spent with my cat for whatever amount of time he has left.

HERE WE GO. 6 years in the making and it's finally happening!! The first page of Reforged will be releasing on May 20th, that's just about a week away!

Pages will be releasing on Comicfury, Webtoon, and Deviantart, but expect to see posts here notifying people when a new page is out~

At the beginning I won't have a terribly consistent upload schedule. This is to ensure I don't burn out and to allow myself to build a bigger buffer :]

Reforged is a Legend of Zelda fancomic that re-imagines the story of BoTW centering around the journeys of Prince Caelius and Aylin, a Yiga Clan warrior. The comic explores the ideas and fears behind holding up or rejecting your societal role, and how that pressure changes not only the person, but the world around them.

As the sole descendant of Goddess Hylia, Prince Caelius has devoted his life to sealing away the Calamity. Hoping to live up to his mother's expectations and the legacy of his father, the prince has turned to the pursuit of knowledge. After countless nights studying ancient texts, he and the research team have come to the conclusion that the rise of the Calamity is imminent. But with the master sword now in the hands of a Yiga Blademaster, the future looks uncertain... When your father kills the king of Hyrule, there's a long shadow to outgrow. Determined to make a name for herself, Aylin has worked tirelessly to climb the ranks of the Yiga in the hopes that one day she might be able to bring down the monarchy and get revenge for those that have suffered under their rule. Before she gets promoted, however, her destiny takes a drastic turn as the fabled sword that seals the darkness calls to her. Not long after their fates collide, Aylin and Caelius discover that the path to meet one’s expectations is not easy. As the two are forced to work together in order to overcome their obstacles an unlikely bond is formed as they learn how to shape their places in the world anew.

This comic started as a personal writing project of mine just for fun and me time, and just sort of grew and grew as I went. It's been 6 years in the making, so I'm very excited to finally start sharing it with people! Gotta admit I'm pretty nervous as I've never Made a comic, BUT WE ALL GOTTA START SOMEWHERE, FOLKS... Reforged will debut on May 20th of this year, and I'll be posting the occasional promotional art piece leading up to the release. You'll be able to read Reforged on Comicfury, Webtoon, and Deviantart! While I won't be posting updates here on Tumblr, I will be using it as a platform to interact with audiences and share whatever else I make relating to the comic, as well as let people know when updates are out <3!

🎉 Happy new year everyone! 🎉 Reforged is just around the cornerrrrrr! The comic will release on May 20th of this year!! I'm super stoked but boy howdy am I nervous lmao... I'll be posting some promotional stuff on social media (namely here and deviantart) during the lead up to the release starting next month.
