it's me, coming back from the grave to reiterate that the original tg series ended on chapter 143 and had the same type of ambiguous deaths (with Irimi and Koma) and that might really be repeated with the ambiguous, monologue-less deaths of Mutsuki & the rest while hinami's monologue mirrors Hide's sentiments and Touka being told to live mirrors Kaneki. basically, being the fandom is endless suffering and we might be in for a trilogy y'all.

Timeline of the Revolution(s)
In taking another look at the story Nishiki tells about the original OEK’s revolution, I noticed some discrepancies in the story we have been given up until now, so I figured I’d try to reconstruct the timeline here.
According to the CCG, and so one assumes, the official record, the CCG was founded by Daikichi Washuu around 1890.
Tumblr media
This matches up with what Eto says, about the original OEK being the reason the CCG was founded over 100 years ago.
Tumblr media
Nishiki’s telling seems at first to match Eto’s:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
but there are a few strange details that don’t quite add up.
Nishiki seems to place this about two generations back and mentions humans being ravaged by war at the time, seeming to imply a post-WWII timeline.
But assuming the history of the Tokyo Ghoul universe is the same as ours (plus ghouls), and assuming Nishiki was just being overly simplistic with his two generation time marker, the original 1890 founding date gives us the Bakumatsu period and the internal Japanese wars that went along with the beginning of the Meiji restoration. The creation of a central anti-ghoul corporation by the Washuu at this time would have been right in line with The Meiji restoration’s modernization, formalization and centralization of industry and state, regardless of any revolutionary ghoul running around, so it’s an easy thing for the official CCG narrative to omit.
But Nishiki’s telling actually seems to imply a second revolution after the CCG was already founded, taking advantage of the post WWII chaos. A second OEG and a second rebellion, this time leading to the formation of V, as separate from the founding of the CCG. Such an event would lend some credence to Eto’s claim that One Eyed Ghouls have historically been a sign of change, if this had happened twice before, not just the once.
A post WWII timeline makes more sense for the construction of the 24th ward, as well - considering the total chaos and massive rebuilding efforts, as well as more advanced technology at the time.
Tumblr media
It also implies some 55 years of a Washuu led CCG without the existence of V, or at the very least, a shift in the functionality of the behind the scenes group. It also seems to imply a significant increase in CCG extermination efforts around that time, an echo of Nishiki’s observation that the current CCG under Furuta is making the previous efforts of the CCG look like a joke, something which Furuta also mentions on his side of things. The Washuu were staying their hand.
History does tend to repeat itself.
I expect we are due for a more explicit history lesson on the Washuu and V soon, but a second revolution only some 70-odd years in the past certainly strengthens the possibility that the leader of that rebellion is still alive down deep in the 24th, somehow.

Kimi Working with Kanou
I usually don’t write meta’s before a chapter comes out but I’m going to make an exception with this because it genuinely made me upset.
Nishiki and Kimi had been one of the most delightful and one of the few cannon couples in tg. This was a story that gave hope that humans and ghouls can be together, but Kimi working with Kanou ruins that dynamic greatly and makes a lot of things in part 1 between her and Nishiki seem less sincere.
I’m not saying Kimi is necessarily  a bad person but was definitely strong prey for someone as cunning as Kanou after her parents and brothers died, something that both Nishiki and Kimi admit.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I mean Kimi’s family could have been transported to Kanou’s hospital, where he could have learned that she wanted to be a doctor. He could of told her thing’s like I know a way that could have saved your parents, and that she could help him with his search for an infinite cure by ghoulification.
Yet even though I believe that Kimi worked with Kanou since the beginning of tg I don’t think by any means that she was using Nishiki because he was a ghoul at first. I mean her shock at Nishiki attacking her was genuine
Tumblr media
But, it’s like the moment she realizes this she becomes more calculated instead of the concerned girlfriend she was moments ago. Her face is blanked out and she shows no emotion when Nishiki bites her.
Tumblr media
whereas when say Kaneki was bit he showed pain
Tumblr media
Which I think shows a disconnect with Kimi like she’s doing this for “science” instead because there is no fear no emotion until after Nishiki comes back to his senses from his hunger does she start talking about the emotional connection they have. Also their is the fact that Kimi wasn’t frightened by her whole kidnapped situation, or the fact that Touka was going to kill her. It was more like she was observing a specimen without any thought to how dangerous it was.
Tumblr media
Also their is foreshadowing that Kimi would betray Nishiki by him conviently saying that he would be fine with it because he loves her.
Tumblr media
Which would also parallel the relationship with Yoshimura and Ukina, who Ukina used Yoshimura to gain information on V while still having a relationship with him. Which Kimi was obviously giving information to Kanou about considering he knew who Nishiki was even though they have never met.
Tumblr media
I think that it is likely that Kimi still loved Nishiki but I still question her intentions in joining Kanou. This just put a lot of doubt in my mind in the sincerity of her actions, because this reveal is obviously going to become a bigger plot line moving on.

Tokyo Ghoul Re: Ch 89 (First Spoilers)
Takizawa attacks Tatara and most likely kills him in order to protect the CCG Investigators, including Houji and Akira.
However, Houji coldly orders his men to attack. Akira also attacks him, and Takizawa goes mad with sadness and chokes her while crying.
She is saved when Amon turns up and cuts off the arm he was choking her with.
A flashback showing Arima dragging half-dead Kaneki past Tatara who is bowing down in V14.

Seidou’s shoes
So, it’s time to answer the age old question of what are those.
Tumblr media
Well they may be ugly but they were able to kick Tatara in the fire breathing mouth, which is apparently 4,000 °C hot. If we ignore the whole humans would melt in this situation, lets just focus on the shoes. Well, there isn’t really any material on earth that can withstand such temperatures, except one which are diamonds. Which have a melting point of 4726.85 °C.
Here is the thing about diamonds for 1 karat usually cost $ 1,400 US dollars, Beyonce recently spent over $300,000 on high heels that were lined with diamonds these shoes however have to be completely made from diamonds so they will be well over 300,000 dollars maybe closer towards 600,000 US dollars.  However, Aogiri tree is run by Eto so all the money the funds it comes from her. However, a very famous best selling author is sometimes only lucky enough to makes 100,000 US dollars a year as most authors make no where near that much. So that would mean that a huge chunk of Eto’s money instead of going towards necessities like Aogiri cloaks, masks, and shelter, it went towards these shoes. So, the reason that Aogiri had to work in the auction for Big Madame, they had to fund these shoes, because maybe someone was psychic and was like one day Tatara will turn into a sun and someone will need to stop him, or Takizawa was going through a diva phase and wanted some bling bling
Tumblr media
Aogiri was put into debt because of those kicks and Seidou doesn’t care.
I’m just going to state that I hope this is a typo or Akira over exaggerating to prove a point. But, I thought it would be funny to think about what Seidou’s shoes must be made out of to withstand 4000°C temperature.

“I’m not the protagonist of a novel or anything…I’m a college student who likes to read, like you could find anywhere. But… if, for argument’s sake, you were to write a story with me in the lead role, it would certainly be… a tragedy.” Kaneki Ken, Tokyo Ghoul (2011)

nah everyone complaining about the hate armin/erwin/levi/eren are getting and telling others to stop hating them and vice versa like... no. you don't get to decide what others like or don't like. it's a manga. people don't need to validate their hatred or love for a CHARACTER.
