Today I was asked what my purpose in life was, and boy lemme tell you, it threw me in a bit of a panic. But then I really sat and thought about it, and here's the thing: I've been rather ambivalent about life every since I was 12. I wanted to die, and frankly, despite loving to learn, the more I learned the more I tended to fall more into an existential crisis. In the past, this progression had negative effects on my well being...but I've been tryna be more positive as of late. There are things I want to do, loads of things. There are things I want to continue learning, and people that I want to help. There's just so much to see and do, and that + finding myself and my personality is leading me more towards a bucket list approach to life, as opposed to a narrow point. I'm not a fucking pencil. I am charcoal. I haven't posted for a while, and for good reason. I nabbed a new job, finished up the booking for a travel fellowship, nabbed a living fellowship at the Gamble House, nabbed a summer job at HPOZ unit in city hall, and finished one final (with three more to go). Oh and I lost my damn notebook :( anyway I've been busy. And I've gained sooooo much. But it's so important to make clear that I didn't do it alone. I didn't give this a title because well...Just thought of one now. This one is called Hypomania, and it's dedicated to anyone who has ever had to deal with it or with mania. Admittedly, hypomania can be great...heightened sense (all of them, wink wink), feeling "everything will be okay" regardless of what is happening, less need for sleep... Even the occasional irrational irritability can be nice. Or perhaps that's just me, lol The problem is, depression always comes right after, and it sucks. Instead of wearing down, you drop and it's the worst. For me, the most important thing to remember is that there will be stability again after the drop.
