this will always be funny to me because whilst adam thinks of gansey as his brother, gansey was fully in love with adam for the first two books and couldn't go a paragraph without thinking of adam, wanting to be adam, taking his opinion on everything and generally being down bad for him. he really had the whole crew in love with him

adam means everything to ronan, like the choice was between ending the world with 8 billion people in it or saving adam. ronan does not love any living being more than adam, so for someone to question that? yeah, he was not taking that lightly, buddy. this boy would trade everyone he knows for an ounce of adam's love much less take any bullshit about it (especially with his low self-esteem at that point coupled with this devotion to adam)

the only other scene equal to the repugnant scene #to me was when hennessy was like do you think ur boyfriend loves u 5ever or do you think you're a pretty toy to play with to pass his time? and ronan was like hey remember when your clones –who were basically your family and the only people you loved– got brutally murdered?

adam is the most well-rounded and complex character of this entire universe in the 7 books and no one even comes close to reaching his level of awesomeness

honestly adam parrish is the teenager ever. like bro is 17/18, bisexual, hates his family, wasn't alone but was always lonesome, has a weird relationship with intimacy, has 3 jobs that he dislikes but also loves, is in three situationships, is afraid of being known but couldn't stand to lose his friends, yearns and feels bad about it, is bitterly sarcastic if not completely cynical, forms bonds with random adult figures, has far too many skeletons in his closet, stays up late doing homework, created a random side hustle that did far too well, knows people have a crush on him but ignores it for convenience, would rather give over his soul to an ancient forest than talk about his feelings to anyone, and on top of all of that, is just trying his best to pass AP physics. no one has ever topped this level of 'something for everyone' in a character.

happy pride month all! albeit trc series not having the best lgbtq+ representation, thank god that out of the couple, the straight girl is the one who cheats ("how did calla’s day end up involving living through so many sargents with so many tongues in their mouths?" calla about blue kissing noah), and not the bisexual boy, because that would have been the last straw. cheers to bisexual adam, who is fiercely loyal as a friend and in his romantic relationships, irrespective of the gender he is dating, throughout both series!
