Disney does suck at times (love-hate relationship over here), but DeSantis would really be killing so much industry in Florida. There are so many people employed by the parks (both in the parks themselves or systems that run the parks behind the scenes) or have business that are only able to profit BECAUSE of Disney being nearby. Legoland? Beaches? Airports? Car rentals? The restaurants in the area? The fucking shops within Disney Springs (which is just an upscale mall where businesses rent to be there)? The food trucks trying to get by?

Many visit these attractions (many of which employs hundreds) because they traveled all the way to Florida, so they might as well go do other things.

And this is especially important with the current economy. A lot of our government is funded by our sales tax (which is 7%). Why is our sales tax so high? A mixture of lack of income tax and the security that tourism is one of our greatest sources of income.

Even if you live hours away, this shit still impacts you. Many college students work a certain number of hours at Disney because of the scholarships Disney provides. It’s hard to go anywhere and not meet at least one person whose mom or dad or grandparent or sibling or whoever worked or works for Disney in some way and through that, the income helped support the family.

Is it actually the most magical place on Earth? Not really. But, it is the reason many Floridians are able to put food on the table.

So this isn’t a fight of Florida vs Disney, it’s a fight of Disney (and Florida) vs DeSantis (and his supporters)

(Sorry if these is messy or confusing. Just wanted to vent my feelings about this because of the amount of wonderful people in my life that wouldn’t even be able to eat dinner every night without the existence of those stupid mouse ears)

Gonna be honest, this was such a fucking fever dream when I first saw it at 1am with my sister. Just, caught us waaaay off guard. And this is the ONLY musical number in the ANY of the LEGO DC movies I have seen! (And I have seen a majority of them!) Like, what the fuck?!

Easily the worst DC lego movie I’ve seen, but it’s pretty good to watch ironically. And some less popular characters get a bit more of the spotlight, which is always nice.

But don’t trust the plot summary on HBO Max! A lot of the characters mentioned don’t show up until the last fifteen minutes. Which sucked because Krypto and Ace were the reason we were so curious about this movie!

Also: to ruin your day even more…..

…Barry Allen is voiced by the same person who voiced Johnny Test :)

(Which, honestly, isn’t the most damaging voice actor for DC characters. It’s not like the past roles the VA for Jason Todd in Batman: A Death in the Family movie had done. That gave me psychic damage)

It’s just Micheal going back in time to save Superman, and in the process gets super drunk with Jonah Hex, and somehow gets into a fender bender in the time stream

This is the friendship I never knew I needed! The bar fight! The worsties relationship between Micheal and Clark never ceases to make me cackle. The story behind his missing cape is *chef’s kiss* and the reveal of exactly who Booster (and Rip) crashed into is beautiful. Also the panel of Micheal getting scolded like Wally is the best

This but make it Ninjago

Just a gremlin-smol!Lloyd and Kai who is a bit of a himbo at times and will absolutely forget about the mask. And lil’!Lloyd being an absolute chaos goblin and trying to lick Kai’s hand, but only getting lint and FSM-who-knows-old dust in his mouth. Lloyd then starts pawing at his mouth with both his mask and Kai’s hand in the way, while Kai just laughs in the background

As someone who grew up with siblings, I just can't stop thinking about Nightwing and Red Hood getting into a fight in costume and Nightwing slapping his hand over Red Hood's mouth to get him to shut up, temporarily forgetting that he can still talk through the helmet, and Red Hood retaliating by trying to lick Nightwing's hand and accidentally just licking the inside of his helmet.

God, I first saw this movie almost three years ago, and I still think about it so much. I can’t help but cackle every time I see it!

LEGO DC Batman: Family Matters (2019)

The popping sound, the hair, Damian’s confusion, the silent record scratch you can just feel, Jason’s voice crack as he goes (°0°), the fact that the plot twist for once is that Jason never actually died! I just- it’s the best scene of the movie

(the second best [series of] scene[s] is Jason stealing Bruce’s tires [again] and Batman having to hitchhike with a random civilian)

But seriously, watch this movie if you like Batfamily content and shenanigans. It may not be the most canon compliant (UtRH is a little too dark for a direct-to-dvd lego movie for kids), but I still love these silly little lego vigilantes. And this is one of the closest iterations we’ll ever get to all of them being on the screen (Alfred, Bruce, Kate, Barbra, Dick, Jason, and Damian).

Meanwhile, Ollie and Hal are happily in-laws and are choosing to pretend Bruce doesn’t exist.

Lian is having the time of her life because not only does she have a Daddy, a Papa, and a Poppy, but she also now has a bunch of superheroes (two of which are billionaires) that are fully willing to throw money at her to become the favorite Grandpa. (She’s already amassed a bouncy castle, an electric kids car, and year passes to Disney. Next, she’ll be asking for her own pony)
