As someone with violent and even homicidal ideation, I think the choices people make are far more indicative of their moral character than anything else.
Thoughts mean nothing. Thoughtcrimes don't exist, especially because what we think is out of our control. If you're not running around hurting people or advocating for others hurting people, then you're fine. For the love of fuck stop stigmatizing mental illnesses and and the unsavory symptoms some of them tend to have.
People can't help it whether they have intrusive thoughts or even fantasize about violence. It doesn't mean we're going to do it. I'm not going to apologize for my symptoms nor does someone finding them off-putting give them a license to be ableist/sanist about it.

emily gwen needs money. give them money. stop giving disney and faceless businesses who sell cheap, imported, low-quality crap produced with probably child or slave labour. give your money to emily gwen.

I’m certain when they created Shadow he came out fully formed (or at least close to it) but the idea of Gerald making this creature-like baby who Maria got to carry around like a weird puppy for a while is so much more entertaining.

addendums: cult classic tv overlaps with early supernatural seasons somewhat, i am aware, just choose based on the cultural context in which you read your first fic.
for weeaboo crew i was thinking of examples like hetalia, black butler, soul eater, etc--popular anime absolutely included but the distinction is that people who were into dragon ball weren't necessarily going to anime club every week and making deviantart stamps about yaoi, but people into ouran high school host club ABSOLUTELY were.
homestuck is in its own category because homestuck changed fandom forever at a critical time which just happened to be when i was growing up in fandom. harry potter, lotr, star wars, and twilight are in their own categories because they were such multimedia juggernauts they had entire archives dedicated solely and only to their fic that spanned multiple franchise reboots (books -> movies -> extended universes). (i acknowledge star trek technically would fit under this but at the time culturally it had more overlap with other cult classic tv fandoms.)
honorable mentions that didn't make it to the list because i had to pick-and-choose with the 12 answer limit: the final fantasy franchise (axed because i am not familiar enough with the fic scene to know if it was as iconic of a gateway drug as, like, naruto or twilight or star wars fic), a general YA lit category (YA lit outside of twilight only went mainstream slightly after this time period), the MCU (i have a hate boner for the MCU), a broader "american superhero comics" category (this would be valid as an option but i don't have the space)

⚠️ Fandom is Moving Forward with Generative AI ⚠️
Tumblr media
As of December 15, Fandom has announced their plans to continue using AI to "enhance" their articles.
In short, they claim to have primarily used AI to
Scan images for "appropriateness" (be that NSFW content or just fitting in with the theme of the show), which still involves scraping tons of images and comparing them to a potentially unethically sourced database. As with all machine learning using images, it is still wildly inaccurate.
Optimizing edits - something they admit is still severely lacking because it can't read tables or variants on simple things like "birthday"
Optimizing SEO - this is clearly what they care most about, since Google likes the "Quick Answers" - as shitty as they were - this means they can continue to dominate the search results and gain more ad revenue.
This is a good time to remember that Fandom is a for-profit company with inverstors, which means their end goal is always to make the most money possible. They don't care about "The Fans" (despite the lip service), and they don't care about the authenticity of user-generated content if they can figure out how to automate the process.
STOP USING FANDOM.
Alternatives/Workarounds:
Indie Wiki Buddy is an extension that will redirect you to non-Fandom versions of wikis if it's in their database.
BreezeWiki displays all Fandom wikis in a clean, ad-free format with just the article content (no links to their forums, autoplay videos, etc)
If you must use Fandom, install UBlock Origin. It's available on all desktop browsers and Firefox Mobile. Hit them where it hurts. And encourage the wiki teams to leave Fandom if they can.
Also, be sure to support independent wikis! You can disable adblockers while on their sites, as they usually have much less obtrusive ads which directly fund server maintenance rather than CEO salaries. Change links on your posts/pages to direct to non-Fandom Wikis (even wiki.gg is better).
Keep information free from corporatization.

FEMA is doing an emergency alert test on all TVs, radios, and cell phones on October 4, 2023, at approximately 2:20pm ET.
If you live in the US and you have a phone you need to keep secret for any reason, make sure that it is turned off at this time.
Yes, I'm doing this months in advance, and yes, my blog has very little reach, but I figure better to post about it more than less.
Please reblog and add better tags than mine, I'm bad at tags.

GO SEASON 2 SPOILERS///

Consider this:
heaven realized just how powerful azira and Crowley are together (consider how even when making an effort to create the tiniest, least noticeable miracle possible it was still so incredibly strong that it hid Gabriel from the entirety of heaven and hell even under close scrutiny) and decided they would rather have them under their thumb. They did this by offering aziraphale the position of supreme archangel, and assumed that Crowley would follow him due to his devotion. They probably figured by doing this they could have all that power under their control instead of risking azira and Crowley realizing how powerful they were and using it against heaven/hell. Plus, with this much power at their disposal, they could probable guarantee their victory at the next Armageddon. They may have underestimated/failed to understand that despite Crowley being very devoted to aziraphale he would still have boundaries he would refuse to cross (aka becoming an angel again) even for aziraphale.
They chose azira because they knew he was still loyal to heaven and still believes in the divine plan- unlike Gabriel and beelzebub, who may have the same power (if the power of the miracle was so powerful due to a demon and angel combining powers; which may or may not be the case) who couldn’t care less about heaven or any plan.
They chose azira because he was vulnerable, idealistic, and loyal- and unfortunately, azira fell for it.
