I beg my kidnappers for a phone, swearing not to make any calls or texts, and they stare over my shoulder, holding a gun to my head as I use my newly-freed hand to post, "So do like, dudes just buy ropes and baklavas from the same store or what lmfao like a specialty Crime Store"

One of the kidnappers says "balaclavas" but it's muffled under the fabric. I ask them to repeat and they do, their voice raspy from disuse. "You wrote baklava, that's a pastry." The other kidnapper goes "stfu" and then after a pause goes "Why would you buy from a crime store"

i do get a sick sense of satisfaction out of driving a yellow car. like well yes this might as well be something that i do. very few can

He spots her reflection in the dark glass of the microwave door, no more than an opaque shadow poking its head into the kitchen. It is, nonetheless, the only reason he doesn't whirl around and slam his cup against the intruder's temple when she steps inside and proceeds to plaster herself to the back of his chair without a word, delicate fingers brushing past his shoulders before she fully winds her arms around him.

Instead, he makes good use of his relative freedom of movement to drain the last of his coffee, and only once he's set the now empty cup down does he speak. "Good morning, Yukiko-san."

She hums, close enough to his skin that he can feel the warm puff of air tickling the fine hair on his nape. He doesn't think he's ever witnessed her wake up anything but happy; today is no different, judging by the smile she is unable to get rid of even as she trails a line of kisses along his neck and jaw.

"Yukiko-san," he tries again, and then, like every other time, he makes the very conscious mistake of turning around. "Did something— mm."

Of all the ways he's been made to shut up over the years, this is easily the one he favors the most. It probably helps that she's so skilled, even though she spends half the time giggling uncontrollably and they keep having to start from scratch.

However talented they may be, though, they aren't yet exempt from the woes of awkwardly pulled muscles and cricks in their necks; soon enough, Yukiko pulls away for good and taps the pad of a perfectly manicured finger against Shuuichi's lips. He absentmindedly nips at the soft skin, tongue flicking out to nab a taste without his permission, and when he finally meets Yukiko's eyes he finds sparkling sapphires glinting down at him.

"Yu-chan has an online conference to attend," she mock-pouts as she drums a random little tune on Shuuichi's sternum. Not even a second later those same fingers are trailing upwards, nails oh-so-slightly grazing his Adam's apple, and then she's wrapping them around his throat— attempting to, at the very least: her hand is way too small to achieve such a feat.

Still, Shuuichi's eyelids flutter, the smile he gives her all languid indulgence. Against her finger, warm and pliant, he asks, "Shall we wait for him upstairs, then?"

Yukiko beams.

Beloved mutuals in the tags arguing about the significance of Jodie's glasses and how they tie her to her dad and are the physical manifestation of that which drives her to pursue the difficult path she's decided to take etc. fail to consider this: crying with glasses on is annoying as fuck <3

You know what in this show has untapped potential to the point of neglect? The importance of taking off glasses. Like, come on. I was thinking about Jodie not taking off her glasses when sobbing after finding out that Akai WAS dead, and it bothered me to no end. Not only is crying with glasses on one of the MOST uncomfortable things to do, but it is suchhh a squandered chance to show/hint at what's going on in a character's head. Kill bite bite kill (thinking about what we could've had). Conan has reached the conclusion that someone's a killer for smaller details.
