this was never in anyway me saying that i think sydney and marcus should be together i think season three killed that potential and maybe opened luca and sydney to something whatever it may be

i think if marcus was white hardly anybody would be shipping sydney with carmy cause let’s be fucking fr… sydney and carmen’s dynamic is so different even without the hierarchy

including the brigade, marcus has been scolded by sydney before she is one ladder rung above him and sydney has taken so much shit from carmy her boss it’s taken them forever to be where they were at the end of season two

carmy is almost toxic most of the time i hate that fucking word but it’s the truth! i mean he’s human it’s perfectly normal to have a lot of emotions but the way he loses his cool. would you really wanna work or put up with someone like that? no but you encounter people like that in life all the time. at least he acknowledges when he’s being shitty and tries to apologize for it. it is exhausting still. and shit i don’t blame syd if she never feels anything but platonic feelings towards carm.

i just think it would be the more popular ship if marcus looked a certain way given that their friendship already feels like the start of something and most of the time carmy is just cordial with sydney im open to it still don’t get me wrong i love the idea of them

i feel like people always have trouble seeing the black character who’s a comrade anything more than a friend the same can be said about sydney and carmen but it just feels different when it comes to marcus because he’s a Man. i don’t wanna start a horrible negative discussion btw just sharing an unpopular opinion that’s why i brought it on tumblr cause who gives a shit tbh this is just a show that isn’t hurting anybody ​still like sydcarmy don’t come at me with words about hating them lol

i mostly like sydcarmy because they remind me a lot of everlark. so the idea of them is so sweet

in theory peeta and carmen are similar with characteristics like blonde guy with blue eyes blonde hair short/average height but still built and likes to draw and fucking cooks (no baking from carmy haha)

they got trauma with an abusive mother down to a T as well

the girlies also have their similarities with a dead parent and not a great relationship with their moms (cause a dead mom will do it in syd’s case)

it’s mostly just that i am not delving into the intricacies of how alike they are because i think relationship wise katniss and peeta who were forced to be together and sydney and carmy at an impasse and where some of the audience sees something more is, something. well that’s all left to interpretation (but id love if anyone ever shares deeper thoughts on this!)
