Currently playing Deltarune chapter 1 on my switch and man, the OST is such a banger.

- Honestly i love exploring the house, the overworld just has such a comforting vibe that i can't quite describe, also Toriel is so sweet as a mom

- Noelle being sweet to Kris and not minding that they join her as partners (i love her and am totally not biased as Noelle kinnie)

- Hugging Ralsei at the training dummy, his reaction is so cute. I love the fact that you can even choose to do this

- I kept throwing away Ralsei's manual and his reactions are just so funny 😭

I absolutely love this take because i agree. I love the Snowgrave route because we learn more about Noelle and her relationship she has with Kris, as well as their childhood together, while we don't when we play the normal route. The player forcing Noelle to do things against her will and her slowly breaking is so interesting. The fact that she can hear 'our' (not Kris's) voice, as well as the fact that we are the one to *whisper her name* when we called out for our friends in Spamton's battle??

The fact that we can fuck with her mentally by equipping the watch onto ourself, and when we approach her in the real world, she gets so scared, being in disbelief and horrified because it means that everything she did was real.

And the detail of her being in the hospital and saying to her dad that she can try the iceshock ability, because it's so ingrained into her by the player.

Also also!! Noelle loves scary things but our voice *terrifies* her

I have nothing against suselle or its shippers but I think the ship's kinda boring. It's like shipping the main girl and the main boy, but they're lesbians. The source material is making it obvious it's going to be canon one way or another, and both are clearly major characters: Susie is sort of the main character alongside Kris, and Noelle is the basic love interest with a crush on her.

I feel like the ship just doesn't really bring out their interesting qualities that much, with Noelle being reduced to a basic masochistic simp around Susie, and Susie having charmingly awkward interactions with her as, where she is at the start of the game, she is implied not to recognize that she likes her back.

In terms of thematic content, we see Susie is very in control of herself, often acting on her own, while Noelle is very submissive and clearly admires Susie's ability to constantly take initiative; these elements of them clearly are going to pay off and develop further later as their relationship continues to blossom. Another small detail that is sort of interesting-ish might be how Noelle wants Susie to hurt her cause she's a masochistic lesbian or whatever the fuck (I know nothing about being a lesbian but apparently it's normal for them to talk like her) but Susie appears to want to protect her, which subverts our expectations of who the more innocent/inexperienced (with romance!) character is in this situation. Even in Snowgrave, where it seems to be implied some hurt/comfort dynamic might be developing between them, they still don't seem that interesting. (this is my opinion)

Compare that to something like Kriselle or Krerdly. Kriselle is fascinating because they aren't really friends, but they aren't really lovers either, but here they are being forced into a relationship by us, the player. Look at that, cool angst, super fucked up, and here we actually get to tap into both characters' thematic contents in a much more fascinating way. Kris is trapped and forced to obey our every command, here, forcing Noelle in turn to do terrible things. Noelle is submissive and fearful, but keeps trying to maintain her faith in Kris until she's pushed to her limit and finds herself needing to figure out what their deal really is (in Snowgrave) and even in the normal route still sees something is amiss about them but doesn't want to act on it. We get to learn a lot more about Noelle from this relationship, and it is put in a much more interesting light than that which we see in Suselle.

Krerdly is also super interesting IMO because you have this super cute rivalry between the two characters, and they get to be weird together. They're interesting enough to allow for a lot of really unique and funny fanworks of them awkwardly flirting and being absolute freaks together, which is so wonderful to me. I think Kris and Berdly are honestly on the same level as Papyrus and Sans in terms of their dynamic's potential for fanworks (though, Sans and Papyrus obviously are brothers and not a ship. I hate that ship) And the angst for them has yet to be tapped into properly, but there's a lot of room for it.

Suselle is fine; I just think it feels a lot more innamorati and straightforward than those other ships.

Oh I guess I'll talk abt my opinions on the other ships too.

Never really liked Krusie that much, cause I see them as platonic (also my friend seems to kin Kris and forced me into kinning Susie so I kind of have to LOL) It's another shipping the main girl x main boy(enby this time) to me. Enemies to lovers is cool, and I see Krusie as an interesting way to take these two, but I personally don't really like it. I just don't really see it. That's just me, it's cool if you like it.

Susie x Berdly- I mean it's just clear to me Berdly isn't really attracted to Susie and just is out of touch with his emotions, so he mistakes his admiration for her as a crush. Plus, when he is convinced what he experienced was a dream, he implies finding it absurd he would ever find her attractive. And Susie obviously doesn't like him back. Now, going past canon, you can ship what you want. This is Mister Sheldon Cooper Bird x Tina from The Amazing World of Gumball. It could make for some fun bullshit fanworks but I don't see it being something anyone would think about all the time.

Susie x Ralsei- Kinda basic IMO. Another ship that feels like shipping the main boy with the main girl. Sure their personalities contrast a lot, but Suselle is literally right there and appears to be canon. Like any ship, even Suselle, there's great potential for fanworks that could make it interesting.

Kris x Ralsei- Ralsei looks like Kris's brother so I find this one gross. Ralsei does seem to like Kris romantically but it's clearly unreciprocated. I don't really like this ship bc I can't look past the incestuous undertones.

Noelle x Berdly- Dead ship, only mentioning it as another excuse to say my favorite character (Berdly)'s name. Poor guy actually tried to pretend to reciprocate her perceived affections bc he thought it was the only reason she hung around him, the twist being that it is in fact Susie who she was blushing around and not him. I love their friendship and think it's super underrated. Romance, tho, eh. Don't attack anyone for shipping it tho, even after it's sunk. Fanworks can make anything canon, and people can ship what they want and shipping these two isn't homophobic. Noelle could be bi or pan, yk. (she seems to display mild attraction to Kris at times, for instance, tho that might be my Kriselle brain talking). She doesn't have to be strictly lesbian. Hc whatever honestly. You're not an asshole for it at all. If you're attacking ppl for their hcs I think ur the asshole tbh like why are you wasting ur energy on that??? (that being said... if someone's headcannoning Noelle as straight or Kris as male/female that is a little iffy, but not worth ATTACKING someone over.)

Remember, this is all my opinion, it's fine if you like the ships I don't, or dislike the ships I like.
