ksjungrin:
“thank you,” jungrin said sarcastically, noticing how reluctant the guy had been to make space for her. recognition dawned upon her as she stepped closer to the shelf, and as a result closer to the guy - who she now recognized as tristan’s boyfriend, hyuksoo. the two of them had never talked - at least jungrin didn’t think so, though there was a possibility they had and she’d just forgotten about it - and only knew about each other because of tristan. she rolled her eyes at his question, not even dignifying it with a response. instead, she got on her tiptoes and reached for the book, successfully retrieving it from the shelf. “i’m not that short,” she said, giving him a smug smile as she placed the book in her bag. “you’re tristan’s boyfriend, right? hyuksoo.” she was almost certain he definitely did not want to start a conversation with her, and would be happier if she just left right away, but jungrin had never been the type of person who could shy away from starting a conversation with someone.
Hyuksoo shrugged before taking his seat again after seeing that she didn’t really need help with the book. He was going to offer help but Keisung didn’t like help much and he couldn’t be bothered to change that at all. He briefly recognised her solely because she was in the same clique as Tristan and—shit she’s friends with Ryosuke. Because of course she had to be friends with his ex. He couldn’t understand why, in god’s name, he was always forced to interact with people associated with Ryosuke. “Yes,” he answered a little warily before choosing to ignore her instead. “Ji Hyuksoo. I’d say I know your name but that would be lying.” And sure he sounded like an asshole, but he didn’t really know her name at all and there wasn’t any point skirting around it. “Did you need something? Do you need Tris?”

ksxsomin:
somin tried to hold back a laugh when the other lined up his books across the middle of the table, but a scoff still made it’s way past her tightly sealed lips. “dude, try not to act so constipated all the time. i feel like you think you’re intimidating, but you mostly look like a petulant toddler,” somin said, taking a seat across from him, “it also helps that i know thirteen different ways to kill you, but we don’t really need to talk about that.” somin wouldn’t deny she was easy going, but she’ll be damned if anyone at this school thought they could push her around. she wouldn’t hesitate to kick his ass if he really wanted to try something, but at the point he just looked… pouty. it was a little pathetic and a lot amusing. she mostly holding back because daewon and herself had gotten closer and she knew he was extremely close with hyuksoo, so, no matter how much this man-child annoyed her, she’d lay low for his sake.
Jesus, are all the people associated with the rebel bastard this annoying? Hyuksoo was beyond the point of caring at this point, considering he didn’t really give a shit about anyone’s opinion but Tristan’s. And Somin being there, annoying the fuck out of him, wasn’t helping either. “Nice try but as you can see, I’m not the biggest people person out here. If being a petulant toddler means I’m left alone, I’d gladly continue doing so.” He didn’t give one single fuck if people thought he was immature—as long as he was left alone, he’d let them think that way. “Why exactly are you here, Somin?” She was being quiet at the very least, but it didn’t mean he wasn’t wary of what she could do.

ahyoungks:
ahyoung had never been much of a reader, but her twin brother definitely was, which was why she was now in the keisung library. frankly, she hated it in here – the brainiacs lingering around always managed to give her a look of condescension whenever she appeared, and the library staff weren’t exactly the nicest, either. but she had to speak to her brother. it was a matter of urgency, and she needed to find him as soon as possible. seeing no sign of him around, she pouted in exasperation. deciding to search the more obscure parts of the area, she did manage to find someone who knew her brother, though. “yah, no need to be so snappy with me,” ahyoung rolled her eyes at the brainiac. why’d he always have to be such a grump all the time? he wasn’t the only stuck in this shithole of a school. “i’m looking for soonyoung. have you seen him?”
He hated being disturbed. He hated having his peace disturbed. There were only two people who could and one of them had left the country so he could live a peaceful life with his sister. God, he already missed Daewon. And this girl apparently did not give a single shit if she was disturbing him or not. Do people in Keisung not have manners at all?, he wondered to himself because then this kid was snapping at him as well. All he did was raise his brow at her to answer her, obviously annoyed that she was just as snappy as he was. It was a wonder why someone even tried and disturbed considering the reputation he had at this school: the brainiac who was brave—or dumb—enough to pick a fight with No Yongjoon. “No. Shouldn’t you know better, considering you’re twins and all?” After all, he’s read studies about twins having telepathic bullshit and whatever the fuck it was.

ksxmina:
mina knew a lot of people from before in her time in keisung as a student, and the brainiacs were a main figure there considering how long she’d stayed with them before switching to inferior, but even then, mina had still spent enough time in the library considering that was still her go to place, and even now, she was a librarian for gods sake. but now, she’d only been making her way to get some fresh air really when she’s stopped by a familiar voice. “who says that me coming over here was to bother you?” her head tilts, a hint of amusement, but tiredness in her voice too.
Hyuksoo recognised Mina immediately. She’d been part of his clique before, until she was relegated to the bottom tier and he got his first full taste of clique dynamics at that. It was there he learned that you couldn’t really trust somebody in this school—except for a few close friends. Like Tristan and Daewon. He couldn’t even trust his own clique members with his life. “Well what other reason is there?”, he said instead, knowing full well he was being rude. But he was just so tired and he really just wanted to go back to his dorm and lie down. Still, he couldn’t help but be concerned that a pregnant woman was on her feet (and he was once again thankful that the mask hid his facial expressions). Wasn’t there some sort of thing where pregnant women were supposed to be resting seven hundred percent of the time or something? Aren’t you tired, Mina?”

ksxshannon:
Shannon wasn’t too sure where her brother was, both being separated directly after entering the gym. She was a bit worried about her twin brother, but she was sure he would be fine by himself. She let out a small sigh, avoiding the incoming wave of students with their masks on that was concealing their identities for the night. She glanced around the gym, hoping that she would be able to spot one of her friends. Lifting up her dress a bit to prevent people from stepping on her dress, she just made her way through people until she found herself standing beside to someone. “Can I stay here for a bit? I won’t bother you, I promise.” She replied, her eyes glancing at the other. “I just a break from the masquerade.”
That sounded like his roommate. Crap, is this Shannon?, he thought then. It was just his luck that he had another female roommate and he didn’t understand how this was, in any way, fair at all. The dorm administrators seem to always put him in neutral dorms. In any case, Shannon was an okay enough roommate. She kept to her side of the room, he kept to his, and she wasn’t noisy or messy. He cleared his throat and took another sip from his water—he knew the punch was spiked the second he walked to the buffet table—and put his hand in his pocket. “Yeah, no problem,” he said then because yes, he did understand where she was coming from. Hell, he was close to leaving already; he just needed to look for Tristan and Daewon and try and convince them to go somewhere else instead. “The ball getting stuffy for you?”

He didn’t know what he was doing here. Well, he did, he just wanted to wallow in self-pity; it was something he was pretty good at if he was being honest about it. But if it weren’t for Tristan and Daewon, he probably wouldn’t even attend this masquerade or whatever the fuck the Keisung administrators came up with. He did like dressing up now and then—his maroon and black ensemble spoke of this commitment—but this was just ridiculous. He touched the red and gold mask his boyfriend made for him and a smirk made its way on his face; well at least the mask hid his identity. Someone stands beside him and he frowns—he’d been wanting to be left alone after all. “Yes?” Well at least the mask hid his identity.

ksdaewon:
With his last class canceled and no work that day, Daewon could finally just lay on his bed and rest. Well, he would have done that if it wasn’t for the fact that he was trying to come up with an idea for a new film but the more he tried to come up with something, the more he felt his creativity disappear. He couldn’t help but feel frustrated and then burying his head into his pillow, he groaned in frustration. Why couldn’t he come up with one good idea? Rolling to his back, he wondered if watching something or doing something enjoyable would help but instead of moving, he remained where he was. His mind began drifting away and it if wasn’t for the knock on the door, he was sure he was going to stay there until he fell asleep or snapped out of it hours later.
Slowly, he got off his bed and it felt as he made his way to the door that he was walking in slow motion. Without asking who was the person knocking, he opened the door and his eyebrows immediately rose when he saw Hyuksoo. He expected the brainiac to be with his boyfriend but a smile appeared on his lips a moment later as he greeted him. “Hey, did you text or call me? If so, I am sorry, I guess I put my phone on silent. What’s up? Where is Tris?” It was strange to ask the other for the hipster but with them dating, he supposed they knew where the other was most of the time. Besides, he didn’t want to be the reason for them to be separated especially since they had not been dating that long.
The last time he saw Daewon felt like years have passed but in reality was only just a few months. So when he saw Daewon again when he opened the door, Hyuksoo could not help the smile that made its way on his face. He missed the younger misfit a lot and he was the very reason why he went back to Keisung in the first place. “Hey, Daewonnie,” he said. “No, I just thought I’d surprise you. Tris is busy doing costume designs so I came here instead. I haven’t seen you in a while. Are you busy? I was gonna invite you out to have coffee and donuts with me. Besides, I wanted it to be just the two of us today.”
He waited for Daewon to get ready, responding to a few messages on his phone, before smiling at the younger misfit. “Ready to go?” He pocketed his phone and opened the door, waiting for Daewon, before walking off to the direction of the exit. “Wanna go outside of campus for a bit? Keisung’s a bit suffocating for me lately,” he revealed sheepishly. “How have you been, Daewonnie?” And maybe that should’ve been the first question he asked the younger male; after all, his concern for him was genuine and he held him at higher regard than the rest of Keisung’s population.

ksyohan:
If only the other had answered with less grumpiness, Yohan would have left him alone but the thought of annoying the older was too tempting. It was like the other was telling him to get the entertainment there and with a mischievous smile on his lips, the neutral placed his chin on his hands as he rested his elbows on the table. “What is keeping you busy?” He asked as if he was interested in the answer which he wasn’t but the other didn’t need to know that. He just wanted to get his attention away from the book the other was reading and then make his attack. “I’m Yohan, if you were wondering and you are?” If he was sure of something was that the other would either ignore him or unwillingly give him his name to make him go away but he could always learn his name from someone else if he wanted. The question was: did he want to know his name?
God, what did he do to deserve this? Why was he being made to deal with high schoolers when he was already in his own territory, minding his own business. But of course the high schoolers gave zero shits about keisung dynamics and just went about their way. Jesus Christ, who was the genius who thought this was a good idea? Because high schoolers and Keisung just don’t mix at all. He pointed at the pile of books on his table, wordlessly telling him that school work was keeping him busy because what other reason was there for him to be busy about? He stared at the high schooler a little bit longer before ignoring him once again, putting all of his attention on his school work. Who did this kid think he was?

kstristan:
tristan would never necessarily say he was alright with hyuksoo’s asshole image, if anything it irritated him more honestly. but it didn’t change that fact that he still knew who the younger was, and what he was actually like. it just pissed the elder off when he had to hear that hyuksoo had gotten in another fight with a certain rebel over a certain specific reason, from someone else. and that was when his irritation showed. but tristan was pretty certain he’d made it clear enough by now that if he was so keen on fighting, then he as much as he’d visit when he ended up in the hospital, there wasn’t going to be a great deal of sympathy for a situation he was watching hyuksoo bring onto himself; especially after numerous warnings.
when the other got up, tristan slipped his hand into his, lacking their fingers together gently. it was still a little foreign of a feeling, but at the same time, familiar. like they’d been doing it all their lives. “we can go and find him when he gets out then, treat him to something to make up for his professor being like this.” tristan hummed gently, the question next made him shake his head though. “you know daewonnie would never do that. i’ve seen him a few times, but he’s probably too caught up on work now. stop thinking so negatively, soo.” he laughed softly, knowing that their youngest friend wouldn’t do that either. but he tugged at hyuksoo’s hand then as he posed the idea of getting out of campus, pulling them both from the cafe and towards the gates that led out. “let’s go for a walk. forget about this place for a bit– and i wanted to talk to you about something, but not here.”
it gave him some sort of comfort to have tristan there by his side. and not just the fact that they were bestfriends-turned-boyfriends; it was the fact that he’d felt all kinds of happiness with him. he hadn’t held hands with someone like this in so long and with tristan, it just felt...right. “well alright. we should get dinner with him.” and hyuksoo was already thinking of bringing him somewhere nice, like a samgyupsal place or maybe somewhere with nice kimchi jjigae. “i know that, but i just...i haven’t seen daewonnie since we got back,” he said, a pout on his features because he really hadn’t seen daewon in so long. he nodded then, his pout disappearing as he sighed out in relief at the thought that they were going to get out of this wretched place.
autumn in korea always looked lovely, in his opinion. it was no wonder that a lot of dramas always used an autumn backdrop considering how scenic the country looked during that time of the year. as much as france was wonderful, he was forever going to love korea’s autumn season—and then he remembered about tristan’s request. he was worried that it had something to do with him. that maybe tristan realised he only ever wanted to be friends with hyuksoo and never beyond that. but if it made him happy, then who was he to deny him of that? but then he might be getting ahead of himself as well. “what did you want to talk about, tris?”

ksxyongjoon:
there was a roll of his eyes when hyuksoo’s mouth opened to speak back to him. fucking predictable. it was clear to everyone by now anyway that hyuksoo and joon didn’t have any sort of good or even close it, relationship with each other. apparently deciding to befriend and now date his ex had triggered something in him that had joon livid for that fact he had no right to be the way he was. and that was exactly why the second time they’d encountered each other joon hadn’t really held back in making sure he’d have to go to the emergency room for at least a check up. and that was at the time that joon was actually holding back too. “too bad, the book i need is in this section.” he sneered, his own mocking smile appearing on his face then as his eyes scanned the section he was at that contained what he needed, just leaving him to find a decent source. “the more you want me gone, the more i’m going to fucking haunt you for how much of dumb fuck you are, for thinking that i actually care about what you want.” his eyes roll once more. “and here i thought the brainiacs were supposed to be the smartasses, but guess being a snake outdoes that, because i don’t see any brains in you, hyuksoo. did your iq drop when your face met my fist? because i’d gladly reacquaint you with it if you want to take this further. don’t test me this year, hyuksoo, i don’t think your boyfriend would like the fact you’re still hung up over your ex and his boyfriend.”
hyuksoo was never going to see eye-to-eye with no yongjoon, and it wasn’t even about ryosuke anymore. his arrogance pissed him off to no ends and he was forever going to see the rebel leader in a bad light. it didn’t matter if he was trying to change himself or whatever bullshit he came up with, because hyuksoo knew your past has a way of catching up with you and it was only a matter of time before yongjoon started going back to his old ways and sleeping with anyone and everyone that moved. “how about you just send one of your minions and then we never have to see each other again.” because he really did not like spending any more tiime with yongjoon more than usual. he wasn’t even surprised that the rebel leader had gone and cursed him out because of course he would. as he continued to flip through his notes, with the sort of calm that tristan had continuously reminded him off, hyuksoo had answered, “it’s concerning how you still think this is about ryosuke and you. don’t flatter yourself, no, it’s not pretty.” with his glare just as sharp as yongjoon’s, he looked at him and said, “if you drag tristan in this one more time, i won’t hesitate with you either.”

( @ksdaewon )
If there was one person Hyuksoo missed while he was off in France with Tristan, it was Daewon. The young misfit completed their trio and the brainiac has come to consider him as the younger brother he never knew he needed. But then Daewon was the closest thing to a sibling he could have and his mother made sure that the younger was well taken care of. Besides, even without his mother’s constant reminders to take care of the misfit, Hyuksoo had promised himself that he was going to be there for Daewon as much as Daewon was for him.
But he hasn’t seen him much since they got back from France and he’s worried that the misfit might have been avoiding them since he found out through one of their many Skype sessions that his two older friends were together. And so Hyuksoo had made to seek out Daewon and spend time with him, making up for all the time that he’d been in France. He’d just gone out of his dorm, donning his usual coat affair, and had made his way to Daewon’s dorm. If there was anywhere he knew Daewon would spend time in, it has to be his dorm. Not that he didn’t have any other place to go to, but he was banking on the fact that maybe Daewon would be there. Hopefully. And once he got to the door, he let out a breath and knocking, hoping that the misfit would be there now.

kstristan:
tristan didn’t care when people wondered why he was friends with someone like hyuksoo, a near opposire of himself really. because tristan knew, and well, the other had been through so much with and for him. he’d watched him nearly die from a head injury after his mother tried to kill him, and then he’d stayed with him until he was better. both him and daewon together. and then they’d been in france together, and that was seemingly where everything just turned around and tristan hadn’t even known he’d felt that way about the younger; but something had apparently changed in that down the line.
“don’t be disrespectful, ji.“ tristan narrower his eyes, but it was in a more playful way as he leaned against the counter. “keep up the choi crap and i’m gonna start throwing this right back at you.“ he chuckled, because tristan still wasn’t sure where or when he’d started calling him choi, but it was amusing nonetheless. “and how many bets that his professor is going to keep him longer instead?“ because they all knew how awful the professors in this damn school were, and tristan had had his fair share too of course. “can’t tell them to hurry up when they aren’t hear yet. but i’ll join you soon.“ and the pout just made tristan melt a little inside, even if he didn’t show it much on the outside, but still. tristan watched then as hyuksoo left, and no more than five minutes later the guy taking over his shift appeared and he didn’t waste much time in pulling the apron off and throwing it over to them so he could slip out and over to hyuksoo now. “come on, we can go now, soo.“
hyuksoo wasn’t one to care about the damage his image would go through. well he did before but he certainly didn’t now, considering he’d just gone through hell and back when it concerned tristan, and he willingly threw away his image when people had gone after daewon. and that image of being an asshole certainly didn’t leave him anymore but he was fine with that, surprising as it may sound; at least it meant people left him alone and knew not to fuck with tristan or daewon. if being an asshole meant people would leave them alone, then he was willing to take on that mantle.`
and he barely even made the chair warm when the hipster had gone and fetched him from the table. he looked over the counter and chuckled when the guy who took over the shift had rolled his eyes at the hipster. well it’s not like they could do anything about it and hyuksoo would rather have more time with tristan. “daewonnie hasn’t replied yet which probably means their professor’s going overtime again.” he sighed out, rubbing his nose until shaking his head and smiling at the hipster. “i feel like i haven’t seen daewonnie around lately. you think he’s avoiding us?” after all, the last thing hyuksoo wanted to do was make the misfit feel like he’s intruding. “anyway, wanna get out of campus for a bit?” where they were, he had no idea, but hyuksoo just wanted to get out of the fucked up campus for a while.

ksyohan:
Yohan just wanted to hit his head against the table because he just couldn’t read this book for another second without losing his mind which meant he needed a break but of course, if he left the library, he knew he would never finish the book or come back. Stupid school, he should simply just give up on this and go out to play. It was such a tempting thought that he almost did it but instead, he found himself walking around the library with the book in his hands. Maybe if he changed the place where he was sitting, that would help but of course, when he settled in front of a college student, he didn’t expect the other to talk to him. “Well, that it’s charged question. I want world peace and food, definitely food and some entertainment.” He grinned then as if he was serious and waited for the grumpy college student to react.
A high school brat of all people. That was the first thought that went through his mind when he saw some kid sit down on his table. Did this kid not see the pile of books on the table he occupied? This particular highschooler was giving him a migraine, considering he’s telling him about world peace and food and whatever the hell he’s thinking about. “Go get food and entertainment somewhere else. I’m busy.” His attention goes back to the book he’s reading, carefully making notes and trying to ignore the presence of the younger male in front of him. Maybe if he ignored him long enough and pretended he didn’t exist, the kid would leave him alone in peace.
