loved the ambessa vs mel and cait fight scene because it was just caitlyn acting like a human chewtoy the entire time, like girlypop was out there in a worse condition she's ever been, eyes still red from the gases cant see shit, probably concussion from getting knocked out with a rifle, dagger still in her fucking guts ambessa absolutely ragdolling her around the whole time but she still kept getting up every time to be annoying just a little longer and get ambessa's gay little magic bracelet off. queen. also whats wrong with you

BUT also also, while I think the actual execution of Sevika's arc was lacking and practically nonexistent, I do like the end goal of it all.
Jinx became a symbol for Zaun, but Jinx never actually cared about Zaun like Sevika. While a lot of her story can be used as commentary on the consequences of Piltover's oppression as a whole, on a character level Jinx's pain was always a lot more personal. A lot of her arc in season 2 was about finding out where she belonged, and Act 2 specifically was her trying on the role of the Hero of Zaun to see if it fit.
I think the connection she found during that act really impacted her, and again, the show just didn't have the goddamn time to really flesh out these ideas, but I think what we're meant to understand in the end is that Jinx didn't want to be seen as a hero, she just wanted to prove to herself that she was capable of doing good.
She didn't really deserve to be the spokesperson for Zaun, honestly. Sevika taking that role while Jinx decides to travel elsewhere and give herself a fresh start, finding her own community that doesn't come with all the baggage she's accumulated over her lifetime, makes sense to me.

leaving aside the fact that jinx is probably still alive, that ending was oddly comforting.
the two sisters will never grow old together in either timeline. but in each one where they do survive, they find happiness. they find purpose. they keep going. isnt that what we all do? the tragedy of life is that we will never get everything we want. the beauty of it is that we still make it worth living.
i know people are going to give the writers a lot of shit for this, but i admire that they took this direction. its painfully realistic, its bittersweet and it hit me harder than any piece of media has any right to.

ohhhhhhh something just hit me while i was watching this scene again
this episode is called "the monster you created"... talking about jinx, of course. "you" is either vi or silco, or both, or the entire system that created these circumstances.
but. BUT.
another monster was created in this episode. the monster jinx created. the cycle of violence continues, baby!
(thanks @solidsmax for the gif!)

Mel really stayed true to herself through it all. That's so rare for a character with this kind of arc. She never let go of her compassion, even with being kidnapped and tortured. It didn't harden her into someone unrecognizable. I did joke about a villain arc because that's what a character like that usually gets when it's time to be calculated and kill the thing that needs killing.
But Mel didn't need that to be badass, embrace her powers, and cut off the head of the dragon even though it happened to be her mother - her mother who thought she was so weak just because she wasn't brutal.
She is the wolf but only out of necessity. She can make the hard calls. She can even deliver death, but she won't without trying everything else first.
That's a leader. She's a leader her mother could never fathom, and now she has her army.
Arcane man... good shit.

I think Jinx now understands that she was irrational in thinking that Vi would replace her with Caitlyn, because Jinx found a sister/daughter(maybe?) in Isha, but she clearly never stopped loving Vi; she and Isha have their own unique bond that is different from the one she had with her big sis, and that isn't a bad thing. Loving more than one person does not mean that she has to replace those who are already in her heart. As we see, it was Vi who she immediately sought out when she discovered Vander was still alive, and both Vander and Vi welcomed Isha into their family. Love is infinite. Yeah, our girl has grown a lot.

Viktor just went from being some guy to my all time favourite Arcane character. Funniest possible direction they could’ve gone with him. Every fuck in his mind body soul was spent and gone when he emerged from that goop. Woke up purple from a near death experience and immediately dumped his situationship, quit his job, fucked off to the undercity wearing nothing but a blanket and then became the second coming of Christ on accident. King of protecting his peace. Imagine being that guy who tried to shank him. Some Czech twink with dick and balls hanging out starts glowing and then magically cleanses the poison from your body. I’d be on my knees worshipping him too man what a fucked up situation. Someone please get him some trousers

Knowing that Loris actually went around taking care of Vi for a time and that Vi actually even hallucinated Caitlyn at times is hilarious because the “Vi--” “Cait used to call me that” “Because that's your fucking name?” interaction could have perfectly happened lmao
