Most annoying case is when the characters in the wlw ship go through some sort of conflict and then immediately people start lambasting it n talking about how toxic the ship/one of the characters is.

I dont know how to word it well, but there is something very homophobic about how much fandoms quickly turn against yuri and wlw ships.

I'm starting to notice this when I look at fandoms who have popular wlw ships and heavy sapphic themes, but where the yuri and romance is not the main theme, thus attracting fans that are not himes. Every time this sapphic aspect of the media in question starts becoming too popular or is simply no longer 'underground'- out of sight, out of mind- these fans start getting pissed off at it. Saying that people only care about the yuri, and that they ignore other parts of the work. Some even say that a separate ship is better (the ship in question is either not wlw or has almost no canon interaction, ofc). All the libel they can find to make yuri fans seem dumb or hysterical.

Weiss is so deceptively emotionally aware and empathetic it needs to be recognized more. She was the one who first recognized when Blake was spiraling back in Beacon and called her out for it. She was the one who was there to be Yang's shoulder to cry on in Mistral and help her understand why Blake felt the need to leave. She was the one who saw how the way they treated Ruby was hurting her in the Ever After. The more you look for it the more you see it. Both on and off the battlefield Weiss is always the one there to support others sight unseen because she knows hurt and loneliness.

Honestly I feel like the best way to describe it would be that fandom got her main character trait wrong. Like, sure, Caitlyn is compassionate, but that is not her defining characteristic. Her main trait is her drive, her determination.

During season 1, that meant her trying to make a name for herself, her keeping in contact with Jayce despite what her parents thought, her going on a one-woman hunt against Silco and his empire. It meant that when she met Vi ans saw all the corruption and the suffering going on, she wanted to help as much as she could.

But it also meant that when the target of her drive changed, then her priorities did too. It's why it was so easy for her, after getting tunnel visioned about Jinx, to commit all the atrocities. It's not that she no longer cared about the people, it's that she cared about hurting Jinx more.

I guess it all goes back to the question "What are you shooting for, young Kiramman?". She's a sniper, she looks through the visor and shoots. But there is a whole world beyond that scope.

Controversial opinion removed from the political discussions surrounding arcane s2 and such but like - Caitlyn was always kinda mischaracterized in Arcane fandom imho. A lot of ppl never got her and when s2 came got her even less cause it's not the second floor that's the problem the foundation of fanon Cait is just flat out wrong.

'Irredeemable media' is such a funny concept to me because it's never used for stuff like Birth of a Nation or A Serbian Film. It's always The Owl House or My Hero Academia because these people only watch things for children and can't stand any conflict more complex than Super Mario Brothers.
