I’m sorry
Here’s a hard to swallow pill that people tend to forget
Just like you are allowed to drop other people for being toxic, or making you uncomfortable, or just plain not making you happy, other people are allowed to drop you.
You are not the exception.
People are allowed to drop you because your depression brings them down.
People are allowed to drop you because you make decisions that make them uncomfortable.
People are allowed to drop you because you don’t make them happy, or because they feel like you don’t care about them, or just because they decided they don’t like you.
Maybe some of those reasons are stupid.
But they are allowed.
They are their own person who doesn’t owe you anything.
You are not holier than thou.
So drop the people you need to from your life, but remember that others are allowed to drop you too. Because just like we all preach, sometimes they need to put their happiness first. And you? You are not always included in that happiness.

I’m guilty for some of these, and I didn’t even realize it. It helps to think about how you’re treating others, the problem can sometimes be you.

Emotions are complicated. Some people are ruled by them externally, others tend to internalize more. Both cases have their own unique sets of problems, whether your feelings are directly connected to your logic or otherwise. Sometimes, the disconnect almost makes it worse. But you can’t judge yourself solely by what occurs irrationally.
Your first reactions are never going to be the most altruistic. People get upset over all sorts of things, even if you’re aware that you don’t have a real reason to be. Sometimes, bad experiences prior just sort of give you that gut response. Fears and anxieties resurface. Insecurities are projected. When we’re upset, logic doesn’t compute with the heart. But getting angry at yourself for that mismatch only makes it worse. You’re only fueling those negative feelings, and it’s just going to keep pushing the envelope until you blow up!
There might not be a rational explanation for the way you feel. Maybe you know that much, and it’s hard trying to balance your actions and thoughts accordingly. But that doesn’t mean your feelings are irrelevant. When you’re upset, beating yourself up doesn’t heal anything. Only understanding and patience leads to proper growth. It’s normal to be frustrated when you can’t thoroughly control yourself, but for these things to pass, it takes patience and understanding.
So long as you’re self aware, there’s no reason to tear yourself down. You’re a person, like anyone else, and you’ll overcome this.

To anyone who needs to hear this. The world truly gives no fucks about anyone else but it’s up to you whether or not you give a fuck back. I’m a work in progress and that’s ok. Don’t tell others your problems, 20% don’t care and the other 80% are glad you have them and take advantage (think of plastic surgery, or corporations that feed off of insecurity)
Self love must come from within.
