Me after seeing your Charles/Diana vampire fic idea: I raise you this - fanfic where Diana survives the 1997 car crash and reconnects with her cousin, Jo Berry, just to mess with Charles (two years after 1997, Jo Berry would go on to befriend the Brighton Bomber just to put some context into why Diana would see reconnecting with her cousin, Jo, as a way of intimidating Charles)

Hope this doesn't sound rude, but what's your opinion on how Diana treated Sophie? It's kinda soured my opinion of Diana (not helped by some of her particularly insane fans who have practically canonised her).

i would say, at least as it seems to me, the situation is a bit exaggerated. i am not trying to say Diana was especially nice to Sophie (she wasn’t), but i don’t see it being anything but a misunderstanding on both sides

Diana had her issues and she was worried about being replaced at the time, so it is only logical, she wasn’t huge on Sophie entering the royal family

that being said, i still find this particular part of Diana’s story a bit off and very impolite. she could have handled it better. but we are only people ig

P.S. also, yeah, i don’t like it when people jump to extremes and canonize Diana. she was a human being and made a lot of mistakes, that’s why i like her
