‘Yesterday is yesterday, if we try to recapture it, we will only lose tomorrow.’
Wondering what could have been won’t change what is right now. For what has happened has brought me to the very place I stand. I imagine scenarios of the past of where I could have done things differently, yet am reminded of the butterfly effect. With one single thing done slightly differently, would I be who I am right now? We don’t know that answer for certain therefore it is up to us to decide whether we want to continue to wonder what if, or more the fuck along and start to apply the things you wish you once did, now. For ‘yesterday is yesterday, if we try to recapture it, we will only lose tomorrow.’

Losing your motivation or just overthinking it?
Whether you have control or not, there can be circumstances in which it really tests the way you’re going to react to a situation. Are you going to lose a grip on yourself and completely overreact? Or are you going to keep your emotions at bay from the situation at hand, and try to think of the next logical approach?
Some of us just feel stuck. They don’t move. They wonder and think, over and over, what will make me happy? Is that even the right question to be asking ourselves? Should it be based purely on what can make us happy if we have never been in the situation we are thinking of putting ourselves into? Why does anxiety build up over the unknown? Is there a cure or a way to overcome it? Or should we be using that to our advantage as something to fuel us to keep moving forward, because once we meet the situation, just like that, it’s over?
What some of you may have seen all over Facebook recently was a short video of a woman named Mel Robbins who was stating that motivation is garbage. Personally I was taken aback. Who the hell was this woman claiming it was all bullshit? This is what I had been jamming into my ear over the past year or so, trying to learn the ways of a motivational speaker in hope it will change my outlook every single day.
Fast forward to watching the clip, I was intrigued with what she had to say. If you wait for motivation it will never come: you’re never going to feel like doing the hard stuff. I had to hear more. I needed to understand her story and with her evidence, why this could be true?
I can honestly say nothing made more sense in the context of this ‘reality’, we all believe we’re stuck in, as what she had to stay. It’s a great start for someone who can’t understand what some of these motivational speakers are preaching, or maybe just don’t resonate with their experience or their language. Personally, every time I feel like staying in bed, or like I don’t want to do my work, I just use her 5 second rule, counting back from 5 (I don’t even imagine a rocket) and I just do it! Because that is what I needed to come to terms with. Just doing it! It’s not a miracle, as she explains in the video, it’s based on science that when you use this technique, it doesn’t give you the time to talk yourself out of it. You just get up and do it. It costs you nothing, and no one can hear you doing it to judge you if you feel like a fool. So what’s the harm?
If you feel like you’d like to start somewhere with someone who speaks more of your language then I suggest taking the time to listen to this interview.
Enjoy!

Reminders from the past
It can be hard. Over the years of trying to heal and grow you can feel as though your progress is relapsing and you’re losing yourself all over again. Trust in the universe that you will get a reminder of how far you’ve come and how proud you should be of where you stand today. That you only have yourself to thank for taking your experiences as something to learn from and move on from it.
Don’t ever think heart break or pain is a waste of time. They’re valuable lessons to be learned. If you don’t see that then you will always live in misery and feel alone in the world, which could be further from the truth.
You are as strong as you allow yourself to be. We have our weak moments of giving into self loathing or complete disappointment, but they are always temporary, as long as you always see it that way.
Keep pushing on, things are always getting better. Today is a new opportunity waiting for you to take advantage of.

Who’s pushing you?
Who is pushing you? Do you have that support system surrounding you for those days when you can’t even find the strength to get out of bed?
Unfortunately we don’t all have that in our lives, but over time you can find exactly that if you want. But regardless of that, the aim of it all is to always try to push yourself.
Where does that kind of strength come from? The determination and will to go on? To finally find something you see yourself potentially being immersed in and find that seed that’s strong enough to grow with enough nurturing. The thing is, do you have what it takes to keep trying at it everyday?
Problem is we put so much pressure on ourselves to find what it is that makes us happy in life that will push us until our dying days. And when we don’t find that soon enough, because we have grown impatient, we give up and dream about what could have been.
It’s not good enough. People supporting us is definitely a bonus but it doesn’t mean that they will always push you quick enough or in the right direction. Or that they’ll always be there. Don’t rely on others to do the work for you. Don’t believe that it takes someone else to make you a better person either, because sometimes there are those people that come into your life that are worthy of that badge of honour - but it’s the fire in you that attracts those kind of people. It’s the need in you to be the best version of yourself that you can see progression every single day, that brings those people to surround you to praise you.
Who is pushing you? I have my amazing partner, but it’s up to me to keep trying everyday. It’s up to me to not let that negative voice in my head overpower the positivity that I have worked on for years at making it my forefront state of mind. Before he ever came along. Because I knew long before I met him that I don’t want to be with someone, or ever vibrate toxic energy around a person, if I have not learned to push myself and to at least have the will to try every single day. Because without that I would not attract the kind of person I want in my life. And without that I could end up with someone who just does more harm than good. I’ve been there and done that and I have learned from my mistakes. I refuse to be that person who says ‘why does his always happen to me’, because I know all too well that it happens to me because of me.
Now ask yourself, are you really pushing yourself?

Silence the hate in your mind
Be careful not to fall into the habit of hating on yourself when you feel like you’re not where you want to be. It doesn’t motivate you to change your actions, it only validates the excuses you give yourself. That your negative emotions are enough to ruin your whole day or week. This can only be true if you buy into it and believe this is your story.
Reminding yourself every day of your goals is work in itself. But it doesn’t need to be hard. Create an environment around you that will remind you and push you to focus on the big stuff, rather than the small time wasting tasks that only stall your progression. Prioritise your self development and put time and effort into organising tasks that will help your growth. Stop blaming it as ‘it’s just who I am’ because there’s no more time for that anymore. You have the power to adapt and mold yourself into what you want to be. It’s a matter of your determination and routine of habits everyday that will help you.
It’s not easy living in your head rather than taking full advantage of the privileged world that we have in front of us. Opportunities bursting at the seams. Just make sure you know where you’re going. Know what your goal is. That will make the days in which you feel lost, less frequent. Once you have that purpose so alive in the core of you, then you will find that the hateful mindset in your head silences, and you’re too focused on getting to that goal you have set out.
Don’t stress if you don’t have a specific goal, just find something you’re aiming toward as your first step and see where it leads you. Because it’s better than where you’re standing now.

Don’t let the blue sky pass you by
I have woken up to a beautiful blue sky every morning this week perfect for my daily walks, but everyday I have waited in my bed long enough that the clouds had already rolled in - enough to make some people pessimistic. My intentions were there, with my alarm being set to 7:30am when I could have very easily sleep in until 10am. What was I missing? It was that initiative to just make a move as soon as the sunlight radiated my room as I opened my blinds. That initiative to take those opportunities that you cannot predict appearing. It’s what the successful people of the 1% do - always go for it as soon as they see it. Those are the people who do not say 'I'll do it later'. That is what immobilises me, and many of us - the time to process and rethink enough to doubt it and not do it at all. So now I am walking under a white and grey sky of merged clouds, pushing myself to go on the long route by ignoring the cold. Now, this could be seen as the struggle. This was the option that takes more effort because I passed that moment of motivation that was accompanied by an amazing setting and now i had to tell myself 'fuck it, just do it!' just to be able to leave the house.
Now that makes me think, how many opportunities have I missed because I assumed that there's always going to be a clear blue sky waiting for me outside for whenever I’m ready?
We have our days, our weeks, our months and even our years, but there has to come a day where you really stop to take responsibility and admit to yourself, ‘it is me that has the power. It has always been me’. If you have had that day and chosen to ignore it, ask yourself, do you still feel like you’re in the same place every single day - feeling stuck? If so, then you know now that you shouldn’t have ignored that realisation. Good news though, there’s no better time than now to choose change. Because there is no later - there is no when else but now.

Life owes us...
If you think life owes you something well that’s the start of where you’re going wrong. Life has already gifted you by being able to live and breathe in this very moment. So are you going to show your gratitude and give it all you’ve got? Or will you worry that tomorrow is going to be the same as today?
That fear of survival has gone for many of us and this feeling of contentment has replace it. Fear is here to push us. It’s a tool that can make or break us.
Fear of rejection. Fear of judgement. Fear of abandonment. Fear of not being liked. Fear of reality. So on and so forth, these are the fears that are played on repeat, if we keep allowing it to.
We live in our heads too much. It’s a great place for imagination, a starting point in visualising what you want to manifest, but there’s that point where you can indulge into that inner monologue and overthink everything going on around you or nowhere near you.
Life owes us nothing, because we have got everything we need right in front of us, it’s up to us to make that move and grab what it is we want, and stop being afraid of the hard work involved or the failure. Because if we can’t understand how one works without the other, then we will always be failing without progression. And that’s the worst type of failure of all.

It can feel like a struggle some days. Keeping yourself motivated day by day. Reminding yourself of your goals and why you’re working so hard. Why you need to put in that effort. Do you have those days where you feel as though you’re losing your way? That the road your traveling on becomes unfamiliar and distant? What you need to do is prioritise yourself and think about why you’re here. What is your purpose. And if you don’t keep at your goal every single day, how will it make you feel to know that you dropped the ball for just one day? We can make the excuses, convince ourselves we deserve that days rest, but we really know that we want to remain as focused as possible.I have many days when it’s an internal struggle to understand why I allow myself to stand in this one position. So in moments like that I remind myself of how good it feels to look back on where I was 5 years ago and how much I have grown. Remind myself of that feeling of achievement and progression. Because that feeling tastes so good. Discipline is what can help us every single day. As I have heard, it’s the ‘quality of your rituals.’‘If you don’t do your work steadily everyday...no idea will work unless you do the work.’So is this why so many people fail? Is this where so many of us go wrong? That we don’t understand the importance of committing to the nitty gritty work?
I know that so many of us who are ‘should’ people. When we see everything as ‘I should really do this, I should really do that’. ‘What changes people is when your “should” becomes a “must”,’ as Tony Robbins puts it. Because if we don’t see these tasks as detrimental then how do we understand the importance in our growth?
I don’t know about you, but I’m tired with being content with the way I live. I am fortunate and I am blessed, but in order to achieve my goals, to really make a difference in this world I need to push myself every single day to be at the level I want to be at. From there, a point in which I am successful, I can have the resources and knowledge to make my impact in this world. Because no one else is going to make this happen for me. Only I have that power.

Be the change you want to see.
We live in a world of excuses. We live in a world of gluttony and selfishness. But there are many out there that know that things aren’t right. Things have changed rapidly and it’s not stopping unless we do something about it.
Do we really feel complete living a lifestyle in which we remain ignorant to who could be effected by the way we live?
Think about it.
