Some of the revelations and twists in the book are a bit convenient, but these are minor distractions in the grand scheme of the novel. I got to attend an FBI LEEDA Executive Leadership Class a couple of weeks ago @bhampolice academy. Lining the walls are the plaques for each graduating class. It only took one pass for me to find mine. The class of legends, 74-106! That was 24 years ago, but many of us are still at it - serving and protecting. Got my NA leave date moved up - Class 282! I’m motivated to get the bricks and use the time for personal growth. Had a motivating cardio session today. With all the rainy weather, my #ifit trainers are putting in some work. Sustaining 5 miles at under a 10 minute a mile pace, but I’m working toward sub 8 min by October. Having read author J. M. Myrick’s work before, I knew I’d be getting some fantastic action scenes, powerful moments of cataclysmic terror and plenty of run for my money in this new Arklight installment. Whilst Myrick delivers all the guts and glory that one would usually expect to find as the Spear Team and the Alsos Team struggle on, this particular plot was an even bigger success than previous tales. For me, the combination of sinister psychological and genocidal plots from the past really upped the ante on the stakes, making every moment more emotionally charged and terrifying to read about. We also have deeper character development than ever, making the heroes more realistic and relatable as their struggles worsen.
