Jim Gordon's son and Barbara Gordon's brother, James — or more commonly referred to as “JJ” — is known as the black sheep of the Gordon family; his childhood in Gotham was plagued with violent attacks from his fathers adversaries, most notably, the incident in which he was dropped from a bridge as an infant. Many speculate that the damage from that accident is what caused him to be so cold and violent as a child. JJ would then grow up to become a notorious serial killer, becoming his father — and the Batman's — adversary.

I think one of my favorite parts of the Batfam experience is thinking Barbara is the only one with a normal family, only to look up what happened to her mom and slowly realize that her family is as, if not more, unhinged as everyone else's, the narrative just never talks about it.

Reading New 52 Batgirl and I have feelings on James Jr.

"Ooohhh, he's the black sheep of the family," "Ooohhh, he's so scary…" He looks like a redditor and acts like a wannabe mastermind. He should touch some grass, get some hobbies.

This threat feels so over-explained. "I'm going to kill Barbara and make dad eat her" What the fuck, that isn't even intimidating to read.
