I told sunset about you, 2020.
I’ll write in an intense tagalog-english persona of me because I want to highlight how I’m so moved by this scene alone. (shown in gif section hehehe) Alam kong anyone would definitely say that this series were on their top bl series dadadada~ because actually hard samedt HAHAHAHAHAHA! XD
Like? How can you not? LOL
On a serious note, a lot of bl series were released during the 2020 pre-pandemic era. A lot of Filipino BL series were neck to neck that year BUUUUUT! this one, had them all choke on their churros and showed them how it should be done! Sobrang lala na any country can claim their good at doing this but the truth won’t be overshadowed by their claims. Thailand is THE one that already master doing this kind of series. You cannot just disagree with that matter of fact. Hindi din siya up for an argument.
Kailangan ko pa ba i-explain kung bakit maganda ‘to? Because that scene in the gif alone speaks for itself.
Anyways, na-sentro din ng palabas na ‘to ‘yong pagpapahalaga ng bansa sa edukasyon, sa kulturang mayroon sila, sa paniniwala— the very glimpse of how beautiful their country were shown and that’s very telling.
Importante din na nasu-sustain yung mga depth ng karakter and hindi kailanman nabigo ang mga aktor dito. Even the tiniest detail of it, naipakita. Somehow, very emotional. (or ako lang? HAHAHAHA)
Score: 10/10 Highlight nito yung mga drone and full shot. Pakaganda so much. The OST as well! The cinematography is one for the books. Naalala ko na ang daming nagsulputang series na kinuha yung film grade nila to get the same vibe HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
PS: may season 2 ‘to siya but that’s another daldal for me.

Not Me, 2022
This is for the hidden activism in our hearts, minds, and spirits. Especially, this is for all the on-the-ground activists who used their voices to fight for social inequality, injustices and oppression.
As an audience, I kinda felt scared. Scared in a sense that there has been an on-going protest in calling for equality for the community and having this show on a national television and social media letting the whole world know what is happening in Thailand is bravery at its finest. It has been a long battle against the government that any country can relate to. This is surreal and heroic move.
There's this specific scene that really had me moved,
White: If you're through with this mission, what will you do next?
Sean: Back to wearing a mask and fight alongside everyone. It can't be over that easily. We need to keep fighting.
Sean is definitely right. Resistance symbolizes continuous fight for any nature of abuse— be it inequality, oppression, and government injustices.
It’s not even surprising that this has the highest rating on imdb for the bl series category given the fact that it's an OffGun series but what’s the shocker of this show is they let the Director use this as a platform for calling out, for letting the people know and be a voice for everyone.
I just hope that gmmtv will continue doing this kind of project. While catering to the audience of bl series, they can, as well, uplift the community in this kind of way.
PS: would definitely binge-watch this again. 🙌🏾

A Tale of Thousand Stars — 2021
Late review and had to go through the thought process. lol
To start off, I just want to say that I felt so devastated and sad at the same time but I'm really thankful for the most part. I won’t talk about the surface of the series because it’s more than that. This one would be for its strong and empowering message for us all.
Because this is not about how Tian did everything to make Torfun’s dream come to life. It’s not really about the love that happened to Tian and Phupha. This is not about that. The very important message this series wants to give is, for us to know what’s happening from people outside the city, the neglected, oppressed community, suffering from human rights.
This is about human rights violation.
I remember how Tian was fuming mad— to even cry his frustration non-stop because the livelihood of the community was claimed by force. None of these innocent people knew what was going on. Having to surrender themselves without questioning the process of the business, that none of them knew they were lied to and abused because all they want is to just earn with whatever was given to them. That’s cruel and dehumanizing.
What’s more frustrating than that was when Tian explained everything that was happening, they don’t want to resort to fighting back because they think that it would cause more damage and the possibility of them not earning anymore if they choose to do what was really right. And the very reason of it? Because the people were deprived of the education that they all deserved from learning about the difficulties of the business.
The only school that serves as the backbone of children's education was burned. Their land, their very source of everything, their property, were about to be compromised because an exploitative person with the power to do so wanted to usurp it.
They were deprived of life that even at the very simple things, they were not familiar. Because they are trained in simple living, in fear and scratches that they have missed out on life is not in how small the world each one stands for.
Torfun was there. A volunteer teacher that knew all about it. She never meant to end her life because she had a strong purpose but death is inevitable. And so did Tian. Tian at first, didn't know what's coming for him. He really didn't know that it's not just about his guilt. It's not really about how he would tell Phupha about it. It's about the people of the community that needs him and his support. It's his love for the community.
Love's not just a thing for someone. Love comes from different angles and I saw how Tian was moved from Torfun's love for the community that he, himself, felt it and reciprocated the same way.
I don't know if this is how the creators of the series want to tell the story but this is what I see from my personal standpoint. Having said that, I want to thank all the teachers and volunteers who choose to help in the countryside. Who choose to help the ones that are being neglected because they are far from the city.
You are all the living heroes that we should all fight for.

Life ~ Love on the Line — 2020.
Love can be unexpected, expected, genuine, awkward, fought for, gambled on destiny and prayed for.
Love spontaneously goes with the flow of life. In the most crucial time, this is what dominates everyone's heart.
This is beautiful in a subtle way. I agree that this deserves the recognition and praises it got from critics and viewers. It’s not confusing and messy. I’m just really obsessed with series that didn’t have to try to do all or didn’t have space for a lot of sub-plot and just really sticking with reality depiction.
I like how they portray the struggle of being in a same sex relationship, even the reality of the community where we are not fully accepted yet were shown here. The inherent difficulty of having the same sex relationship, the struggle of telling your parents about your truths, the struggle of having to hide your love in the public eye, and a lot of struggles that we rarely see on some bl series nowadays.
All in all: 10/10. Plus points for giving us a HIStory 3: Make our Days Counts main lead cameo on a Aurora Borealis date. 💖 Character portrayal was executed well. Cinematography really is a chef's kiss.

Until We Meet Again, 2019-2020.
One thing's for sure, this series is a must-watch to each and everyone. A top-tier bl series.
The fact that they have to give that character to Earth is very telling. That it should be him and not the others. Same goes with Fluke, Kao and Ohm. It did not disappoint me. They gave us a series that made sure everyone would be involved, everyone had an opinion and everyone should be open to the fact that the issue being discussed here will make a lot of noise, that it is still happening in our present time.
The first problem was laid out without a flinch! The discussion of how the older generation dealt with same sex relationships in the LGBT community. Just how hate and discrimination targeted anyone who practices it, anyone who belongs to it. It's just pure cruelty and sad. The removal of human rights and personal happiness to the person will never be right in all aspects regardless of the gender.
Somehow, there was a lot of heavy drama that made this one for the brave heart. I don’t think that they can outdo all that pain and bottlenecks that the characters had to experience. The actors are so good at character internalizing. Cinematography can be worked with but all fine. I’m just so happy that we came to this point that bl series can be as serious as it can be and not just about how one person is in love with another person and nothing follows. I hope that we’ll be watching a lot of projects like this.
This is amplifying and uplifting. In this way we can showcase the diversity and struggle of our community from society. To let them know what and who we are.
All in all: 10/10. The actors are so good, tbh. All of them have contribute so much that the ending of the series pains me because I became so attached to all of them.

malaya ang isip.
naglalakbay sa masalimuot na daan,
nagpapasikutsikot sa kawalan,
sa hindi malaman ang patungo,
kumakaripas sa pagtakbo,
pinipili ang paligiang hinto.
malaya ang lungkot.
naghihintay ng makakasama,
lumilimlim sa pagitan ng oras at tagal,
kinikimkim ang walang umaga,
ang walang sibol,
hinahaplos ang kulay dilim,
at pinipiling tumigil, magahol.
ngunit malaya kang piliin
ang saya at ang lungkot.
kinabukasan ay humahalina.
malaya ang haring araw
na naghihintay sa iyong kawalang isip.
kumaripas ka at ito'y akapin.
