That space pirate from The Mandalorian is my favorite character in Skeleton Crew too.

I'm loving the new Star Wars show so far. (mostly because Vane is in it)

Octoboss.

It's been too long without any Octoboss art so here he is.

Well, if Angel wasn't thinking about it before, she is now. XD

Just a quick little comic cause I wanted to draw the Octoboss and this is what came to mind. Its fun drawing these two interacting.

HackJaw, a buzzard OC for my Mad Max stories. His design is inspired by the Fury Road concept art and the tie-in comic buzzard designs. Named for the hacksaw that adorns his jaw. He prefers melee combat but uses guns when necessary.

He is the leader of the buzzards group that defends the Underdune (airport) from intruders. He works hard to keep out the pesky mortifiers who try to sneak in to scavenge the place.

HackJaw eventually has a one-on-one confrontation with the "horned one" and gets his eye shot out.

He now wants the Octoboss' helmet as a trophy mounted to his wall.

Showing affection, wasteland style!

I wonder if forehead touching is exclusive to the Greenplace or if other tribes and gangs do that too?

Or do they each have their own way of showing affection?

Affection can be a confusing concept in an apocalyptic wasteland.

Comic inspired by me getting a toy surprise egg and the insert showed there's a rare gold airplane and I knew the Octoboss would have to have it.

Octoboss likes airplanes and seems to have an affinity for the color gold, considering his golden motorcycle. I don't know if it's because he likes the color or if he recognizes the status symbol it brings, but either way if he caught wind of a gold airplane there's no way he wouldn't have his mortifiers comb the wasteland to find it.

Mortifiers! Assemble!!

Lineup of the Mad Max characters and OCs for the Mortifiers gang that I draw:

Angel - Historian recruited by the Mortifiers while out scavenging. They haven't hurt or violated her yet so she stays with them for safety and survival. She's valued for her knowledge and reading skills.

The Octoboss - Leader of the Mortifiers. Lover of all things flight. He's more intelligent and mild tempered compared to other wasteland warlords. He leads his gang as rogue scavengers after splitting from Dementus' horde.

Carrion and Scrap - Inseparable buddies and lowest rankers of the Mortifiers. Carrion is the smart one and Scrap is the goofy one. They often get stuck with cleaning duty when not out scavenging for whatever food and supplies their gang needs. They share a 2 person motorcycle with Carrion as driver and Scrap in the sidecar.

Octoboss is the only non-OC since the rest of the Mortifiers don't really have names or personalities in the Furiosa movie.

Just some doodling fun with the Octoboss. Since he dresses in all black I wanted to play around with deep blacks and highlights with him.

I like texturing the horns on his helmet. Those things are so wacky.

More Octothoughts:

It's October now and I can't help noticing that this month begins with the same four letters as the Octoboss' name.

Considering 'octo' correlates with the number eight the month of October should have been the eighth month of the year instead of tenth.

Bonus - The Octoberboss:

This is what Goran Kleut (Octoboss actor) meant when he said the Octoboss' men have his back while he sleeps. I reference that interview with Goran D. Kleut often with my Mad Max fan art but it is a good source of information and inspiration for drawing/writing the Octoboss.

It's good to know the Mortifiers love their boss and respect him. I just hope they didn't use anything permanent on his face.

Octoboss takes Angel out for dinner.

Eating maggots out of corpses is a thing in the Mad Max world. (As seen in Furiosa movie and 2015 video game). It provides protein and a convenient source of food in the wasteland.

I don't think he can expect any kissing after that.

Basically what happened.

That's no specific war boy but he could be a younger Ace.

Also I don't know who was handing out popcorn at the Citadel but the Octoboss totally scored some.

He figured if she was going to be with the Motiflyers she should look the part. Which means looking like an emo goth biker. He didn't even say anything, he just started smudging her face without warning.

Angel: "What are you doing?"

Octoboss: "Soot for your eyes."

Angel: "What for..?"

Octoboss: "If you ride with us than you should look like us."

Angel: "Should I scowl a lot too?"

And then it becomes an epic scowling contest between them.

Some Octothoughts:

I'm starting to realize I might be OCD about the Octoboss because I draw and think about him all the time.

Or should it be called Octoboss-Compulsive Disorder?

I happily accept obsessing over that tall black-clad man 24/7.
