Third week of aerial silks classes, and I was finally able to climb! The past two weeks, I’ve been practicing the footholds on the ground and was unable to pull myself up.
Slowly working on basic skills and building upper body strength
Decided this morning that we’re going to Iowa for the weekend. Andrew’s grandma and a few other family members live there. One of his cousins and his wife are having their baby shower this weekend.
Andrew hasn’t seen his grandma since 2017 when she was in SC for the eclipse. And we’ve never even met his cousin’s wife. (They just got married this past spring, and we had to miss a huge family wedding (for another cousin) two years ago when we could have met her.)
Leaving tomorrow morning, and I’m going to work during the drive. Not ideal, but I’m glad I can really work anywhere and don’t have to take a sick day.
Did beach yoga yesterday, and I loved it. My core is super sore today 😅
It’s a donation based session they do every Saturday (and multiple days throughout the week), and I think I’m going to make it my Saturday morning thing now
This studio also does aerial silk lessons, and I’m super intrigued by that. Might check that out one day as well. Their beginner lessons are Tuesday nights, and that works for our family schedule right now.
I consistently tracked for fourteen weeks, but I didn’t track at all last week. Being on vacation and eating out for essentially every meal makes tracking not easy. And honestly, one week of not tracking isn’t going to derail all the progress I made in fourteen weeks.
I gained 2 lbs since last Sunday. Not bad considering all that I ate - more sugar and fatty foods than normal. Curious to see where I’ll be on Friday when I typically weigh myself. I’m not going to decrease my food intake at all. Going to stick with 2150 calories and 145 g of protein.
More concerned about how much I’ll be able to lift this week 😅 I’ve been making steady gains the past fourteen weeks.
We went to Magic Kingdom, Hogwarts, Jurassic Park, Africa, Asia, Pandora, Hollywood, Batuu, Andy’s backyard, and the Caribbean.
Andrew and I celebrated our 9th anniversary in Wizarding World which was amazing.
We would get up early and get to the parks when they opened. We would leave around 2-3 each day and chill at the pool/resort until dinner. It was so hot in the middle of the day 🥵
Normally, we like to travel internationally or to different US cities and explore. Decided this year to do Disney and Universal instead. I don’t think we’ll be back for quite awhile 😅 While it was fun, it’s just not something we can do that often.
Stayed in the park til about 3. Went back to the resort for some pool and showers. Came back around 6:30 for dinner at Be Our Guest. Pouring down rain 😅 C’est la vie! Currently sitting in the Beast’a study as we wait for our name to be called for dinner.
Planning some Disney bounding outfits for when we’re at Disney in a couple weeks. These just came in today and was trying them on quickly 😅
Buzz Lightyear for when we’re at Hollywood Studios on Friday, and Simba for Animal Kingdom on Thursday.
I also have a red and white polka dot crop top that I can do for Minnie when we do Magic Kingdom on Monday. But I also have a Powerline tank that I want to wear. Decisions….
Andrew is in Charleston Monday to Monday for a guys golf week
Knox has swim lessons Monday through Thursday 5:30-6
Knox has hockey skating lesson on Thursday 6:30-7
I have work 😑
Today is two weeks from when we’ll be at Disney 😊
The hardest adjustment to not teaching is not having summers off in the sense of I can’t just go with him to Charleston this weekend. I only have two weeks of vacation a year. Used five days with wedding travel, closing on the house, and moving. Using the other five for Disney/Universal trip in two weeks.
This is not me knocking teachers for having summers off. It’s crazy how less stressful my current job is 😂 I don’t need that time off like I needed that reset each year from teaching. Just hard making that adjustment especially since my husband has accrued so much vacation time from working with the same company for nine years.
They left yesterday, and it’s super quiet around the house 😂 This is the first time he’s been away from home like this. Normally, it’s him staying with one of his grandparents while we go on a trip.
He has been so excited for this, and I hope he has a great time! Crazy missing him though 😭
