exactly. not everyone can be fearless, some people might be in genuine danger. please don't push them. put their safety first.
For those people who need to hear it, there is nothing wrong with going back into the closet for your own safety. You aren't less queer because you can't be queer publicly. You aren't less trans because you have to act like you're not trans.
If you need to start going by your old pronouns or quietly go back into the closet to be safe - you are allowed to do that. Please do that if it means you're alive.
Your safety is important.
You are important.
And if you know someone who has to do this, don't push them. Don't out them. Follow their lead. People's safety is more important that grandstanding.

they depend on our protection yet they take away the rights of the people fighting the wars? taking away certain rights of disabled people? but the veterans are disable due to saving your ass. taking away women's rights? women soldiers getting raped happens more than talked about. taking poc rights? 20.3 percent of soldiers are poc. immigrants make 5 percent of the military, 4.5 percent of veterans are immigrants. 17.5 percent of soldiers are women.
Air Force: 23.4% of commissioned officers are women Navy: 20.9% of commissioned officers are women Army: 18.8% of commissioned officers are women Marine Corps: 9.8% of commissioned officers are women
As of February 2024, more than 40,000 foreign nationals were serving in the active and reserve components of the U.S. military, which is about 5% of the total on active duty.
As of 2022, 4.5% of the country's 16.2 million veterans were born outside the United States.
Immigrants have fought in every major conflict in American history, including the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, both World Wars, and conflicts in Vietnam, Afghanistan, and Iraq. Military service has also provided a path to American citizenship for more than 760,000 immigrant service members over the last century. yet its STILL not enough.

I love you everyone in red states right now.
I love you everyone who has family that is/will celebrate a Trump victory.
I love you everyone surrounded by loved ones actively voting against your rights.
If you voted for Kamala, you did everything you could and you should be proud.
All of your frustration and anger is justified, understandable, and fair.
I’m sending you all love and peace.

Kamala Harris is the only moral vote for anyone who cares about Gaza.
"Israel's genocide in Gaza will be worse under Trump than under Kamala Harris" might not be the most emotionally compelling reason to vote for Harris, but remember that making the violence smaller means saving lives.
Sheltering Anne Frank in the attic didn't stop the whole Holocaust. It just made the Holocaust smaller. But it was still the right thing to do.

IF YOU LIVE IN THE US, PLEASE READ THIS
Posting this from the bird app since I hope it can help people.
People have been contacting the White House directly to demand a recount, especially since there has been evidence that not every ballot has been counted and will be thrown away if it hasn't been cured.
The link to contact the White House is here!
The following screenshot comes from here!
Tumblr media
If you need help writing something, check under the cut! I've provided a prewritten response from one of the replies!
"I am a concerned citizen, and I need you to hear me. I urge you to recount the ballots from this election and investigate election interference. Bomb threats have been called into multiple polling locations, causing some to close early. Domestic terrorists have burned ballot boxes. An unprecedented number of ballots have been rejected and require curing. There have been reports of polling officers allowing voter intimidation in and outside of polling places across the country and an estimated 20 million mail in ballots are unaccounted for. In addition, many people have reported that ballots were not counted for suspicious reasons such as signature invalidation which is information that vote counters do not have access to. These events have occurred in swing states such as Pennsylvania, Nevada, and Georgia, for instance."
Feel free to add and change what you want, this is just a base for you to work off of.

i know all of you are scared but the best you could do for now is to try to relax, I know, I know its hard but please try. read a book, listen to music, play a game, watch Netflix or YouTube, clean up, bake, cook, order food, anything. color, journal, talk about it with someone, take a shower, meditate, scroll on Pinterest. anything. don't forget to breath and drink water. please eat something. you are special. you are worth it.

for those who are devastated about the election results right now, here’s your gently reminder to take some time offline, read your favorite book, write that fic you’ve been wanting to write, play with your pets, watch that film on your to-watch list, rewatch your comfort tv show, drink some water, get yourself something delicious, have a nice and relaxing bath, look at the pretty skies and take a deep breath. you’ve survived this far and you will continue to survive. this is not the end ♡
