I’m really getting to where I love Captain Boomerang, aren’t I?

I can’t help it. I never really cared for him, but seeing the roll call for The Suicide Squad and the trailer for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League made me happy. Then I started reading more about him and started reading some comics. He’s goofy, funny, lovable, cheesy, and somehow really badass. I mean...

I Miss Reading Deadpool Comics?

So in middle school (and freshman year of high school), I went through this weird and kinda cringe Deadpool phase. This was before the movie came out, and he was essentially my favorite comic book character. I read every comic he was in at the time, had tee shirts, hats, everything.

But the older I got, the less appealing his comics were because.... nothing really happened. My favorite comic I’ve read that has him in it is Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force, because in it he was hilarious, but he was still a badass. And that’s one I read in middle school. After that, it just seemed like he kept getting his ass beat by everyone and they were turning him into MemePool. And it just wasn’t fun anymore because he just kept memeing and making a joke out of everything. He wasn’t really a badass anymore. I loved both of the movies though, but the comics couldn’t really do it for me anymore. I dunno, maybe that’s just my opinion. I did enjoy Brian Posehn’s run on the character, and the arc of The Good, The Bad, and the Ugly where he teams up with Wolverine and Captain America was amazing. But nowadays I don’t read his comics and I kinda miss them. They were a big part of my life when I was going through shit.

Are there any recent runs of Deadpool that you recommend where he’s funny but still a badass? Does anyone else feel the same, or is it just me?

Now I can continue reading Hellblazer with volumes 3, 4, and 5 and finally start reading Preacher. Also always wanted to read Donny Cates’ Doctor Strange, so here we go down this rabbit hole.

So...

I’ve now started writing my own screenplay for a Hellblazer film. I’m trying to adapt my own version of it, and hopefully at some point I’ll finish it. Maybe, hopefully, my goal is to send it to DC/WB and they’ll actually take a look at it. It’s difficult, but it’s gotten me to start writing scripts again. And maybe something good will come from it.
