Severus Snape Festival.

Dear admirers, 

I am very interested in hosting a fest to honor our beloved Severus Snape. I know a lot of writing festivals still take place on LJ. I respect those choices, but I’ve gathered a lot more fanfic writers have moved to Tumblr. This fest would take place exclusively on Tumblr and Discord.  Right now, I’m running an interest check. If you believe that you would participate (providing prompts, writing fics, character studies, poetry or creating art, building crafts, or even as a devoted fan enjoying the works), I would appreciate if you liked or reblogged this post.  My goals for this festival are encouraging more pro-Snape voices to enjoy our magnificent community. This festival would be open to any pro-Snape admirer. There would be no restrictions on your interpretation of Severus Snape’s expression (gender, sexuality, fluidity, et.al.) No pairings restrictions and equally no pressure to write a romantic based plot either. 

Ultimately, this is about honoring Severus Snape and how that’s accomplished would be up to you. <3 Thank you.

Ugh. I can't believe this. I follow one, one non-Snarry/pro-Snape blog and literally I'm already seeing intense Shape hate on my dashboard. Not from the account, but from asks sent to that account. They literally called him (and almost all of these words can be quoted) a sadistic, racist ass who basically encouraged torture with his friends, insulted and mistreated Lily long before the 'worst memories' scene, and basically got what was coming to him with James' assaults. Oh, and he was the reason Petunia hated wizards and witches, as if she hasn't been insanely jealous of her sister or anything. Like, I'm all for someone having their own opinion, but at least use some basic fact, oh my god. I'm considering unfollowing simply because I don't want to see anything like that again.

I just find it so amazing that you barely need to change your look, but your facial expressions and body language can capture an entirely new character every time! Very well-done, I love your work! ^^

I write him as having friendships with the marauders sometimes, but that's not redemption, that's an AU (as in, completely changing the story of their school years and personal lives to make everyone happy and nice). It could never happen in canon, and I hate when they think that Severus could just forget the past entirely and be all buddy-buddy with these people. If you want to write them as friends, go ahead, but don't ever call it a redemption arc because it isn't. His redemption arc has everything to do with himself, and nothing to do with them. That's it.

have y'all noticed that every time antis ‘redeem snape better than jkr’ they make him become friendly with the marauders. almost as if the biggest problem they have with him is that he hates their faves.
