ICV Offer Skills First Funding Ageing Support Traineeship in Victoria
ICV’s new initiative is designed to support empathetic individuals to join the aged care sector. Announcing, Free Government funded Aged Care Program for domestic students. Through this program, ICV provides quality aged care training to people who want to join the aged care community.
With the aged population in Victoria increasing, the aged care sector must constantly be growing to meet demand. This makes aged care a dependable sector for those looking for a meaningful career. Taking the first step into a new career can often be the most thought-provoking, and ICV’s aim is to support people in doing just that.
The Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety highlighted the need for a transformed focus on high-quality care as the vital foundation for a strong segment. This needs skilled, highly trained aged care professionals who are dedicated to providing the very best care possible.
What is the Aged Care Employment Program?
This qualification reflects the role of support workers who complete specialised tasks and functions in aged services; either in residential, home, or community-based environments. This ensures a confident start to a thriving new career!
This Certificate aging support training program is an Australian first and is centered around accelerating skills and employment outcomes in the aged care workforce.
How the program works and who it’s for?
This program is for those who want to move into the aged care community sector and make an expressive difference in the lives of elderly Australians. Sympathetic, caring individuals who appreciate that everyone deserves pride and sympathy through every stage of life. Currently, this Certificate 4 in Ageing Support is government funded with $0 Tuition Fees (eligible for Australian Citizens and Permanent residents).  *Eligibility criteria apply. Skills First Funding is available to eligible individuals with training delivered with Victorian and Commonwealth Government Funding. Also check eligibility requirements which include:
Over the age of 18 when commencing the traineeship
Traineeship: Full-time/part-time for 12 months; able to commit to regular classes (online) or practical sessions, available to work a variety of shifts across the week.
Students must complete a police check and be approved prior to any work experience taking place
Be an Australian or NZ citizen, permanent resident, or on a humanitarian visa
Have basic tech, numeracy, and literacy skills (ACSF level 2)
Relevant work experience in a related field.
Successful completion of Australian year 11 or equivalent; OR
ICV’s COO Gopal Pokharel explains that the best care in aged care is delivered by people who have well-developed skills in areas like expressive aptitude and sympathy.
