I had so many questions about Bulletproof Coffee ☕️ after my last post. Here’s a #repost of a recipe I shared last summer. @jshiarella - this one is for you sis 😘. Looks like a latte eh? It's not 😏. Here's the recipe: - 2 cups your fav joe - 1 T ghee (or coconut butter if vegan) - dollop of coconut oil - 1 tsp cinnamon - 1 tsp maca powder Optionals: - 1 tsp cacao for a mocha - 2 tsp honey, maple syrup or coconut nectar if you like it sweet - blitz in a blender until frothy - sip & enjoy Did you know eating fats in the morning as well as your Omega 3s will satiate you longer compared to a carbohydrate dense breakfast which help lessen heavy snacking and overeating at lunchtime. This means an overall boost in energy for the day. 👊🏻 This power cup of coffee is an awesome kick starter. Also, eating our healthy fats in the morning actually helps prepare the body for optimal nutrient absorption and helps break down vitamins or supplements if you take daily like me. Al☀️ha #friday. 🌼 I got my sunshine in a cup. Golden Milk Bullet Coffee 🤤 from the @sunriseshack . I believe I will be getting another tomorrow at Pipe Masters. Because they are literally down the street 🤘🏼. And if you don’t live on O‘ahu or anywhere near the North Shore, you guys can make this at home 🤫. It’s super easy. Take your favorite brewed coffee or espresso ☀️ place in a blender or use a milk frother along with a splash of unrefined coconut oil or MCT oil, 1 T grass fed butter (or just the coconut oil if you are vegan), 1 tsp turmeric powder, and then any sweetness if you’d like ☀️ blend it up until the fat gets nice a frothy and 💥 bam. Thanks @lilly_azouz ✌🏻 for capturing this. I usually never get action shots since I’m usually elbow deep in food. On Sunday we got to celebrate with @paulizakmusic and his album release that he has spent years on creating and pouring his heart into. It’s inspiring. And although I was working, I still got to hear a lot of the magic from a distance✨. We ended up selling out about an hour before the party was over. I wasn’t expecting that. We plated over a 100 #vegan #plantbased dishes and still had a line of people waiting to be served. I feel so grateful for all of you who supported #homecookedwithlove that night and for getting to support Paul, his creative journey, and hard work. It was also a treat to get to listen to @mikelovemusic and Tubby Love all in one night 🌟. Thanks @goldielockshawaii for asking me to be apart of the night and share my love with everyone. We catered our first Corporate Luncheon today. We felt swanky all the way up on the 17th floor. So we treated ourselves to a swanky lunch. Seemed fitting. Avo toast with smoked salmon, chili, and lemon and a charcoal latte to wash it all down✌🏻from the one and only @a_r_v_o . If you didn’t know, now you can say you do. We offer a deal for all office spaces when they order from our weekly online menu. It’s a good one. We want eating a healthy, delicious lunch to be accessible to all, even when you are at work. This past weekend I got to experience an insanely good Farm to Table 5 course menu at @maris_gardens with Chef Sarah (aka the @healthylocavore ). I met Sarah at a Yoga Retreat I catered on the North Shore and we bonded over food instantly 😋 that and sourdough starters 🙌🏻. As much as I love to cook - my weekends have been filled with quite a few catered events lately so being served a 5 course meal Saturday was a dream. Hint: that’s the instant way to my heart 💚. And it was pretty cool to see that almost 100% of the menu was sourced from Hawaii - including each of the proteins. 🌿 You killed it sister 🤘🏼. And thanks for saving those tickets for me 😘. I️ used to wonder what our top pick dish is with #homecookedwithlove 🍂 We create about 8 different dishes per week, not including all our add on #glutenfree baked goodies. So that’s over 350 dishes made so far this year. But I️ think I️ figured it out. . . . Good ole southern #comfortfood Pot Pies. Choice of #organic chicken or all veg, each topped with our homemade gluten free crust that’s flaky and delicious and doesn’t taste like beans. Winner 🙌🏻. I hope everyone had a fun Halloween! I spent mine as Jane Fonda teaching yoga 🤸🏻‍♀️. Literally. At least it kept me from eating a ton of sugar.... well more than I probably would have otherwise. Having Halloween on Tuesday made it like Halloween week I feel like. So here’s to getting back in routine and detoxing all that fake stuff and alcohol 😉. #tbt to dem fried green tomaters 🍅✌🏻 felt at home being back in NC then WV visiting family and friends earlier this month and eating. A Lot. We made more fried green tomatoes than you could count. 😍 Toss them in a little seasoned organic cornmeal then lightly “fried” on a cast iron skillet with some coconut oil.
