i can feel the flames on my skin, crimson red paint on my lips. if a man talks s h i t then i owe him nothing. don't regret it one bit 'cause he had it coming. but if he drops my n a m e then i owe him nothing, and if he spends my change then he had it coming! they say i did something BAD, so why's it feel so good ?

“Hm, see that’s a little too over the top, I prefer breathtaking. But, you mere mortal can call me Harlow.” She laughs before standing up, “Well what’re you waiting for?”
hkauri:
Harlow rolled her eyes, handing him the card, “Well first beautiful is a bit of an understatement? Don’t ya think?” She teased, “But as for my reward, I think ya owe me a drink now Vincent.”
“For future reference, should I use modern day Aphrodite?” He grinned as he took the card and pulled his wallet out of his pocket. “A drink, huh? I think I can manage that.”

“Oh look at you, mr. hotshot, you have a ride and everything.” She teases before laughing, she noticed him twisting his wedding ring, and took it as a sign that her joking had gone to far, “I can stop bringing up your wife if it’s too uncomfortable.” She blurts out before she can think about the words, she wasn’t too sure what could’ve made him so nervous it’s not like they weren’t married. “Are you asking me for advice? Or validation? Because I don’t think it’s my position to give either.” She laughs.
hkauri:
“Yeah, but the things I’d do after a whole bottle of that.” She just chuckled and shook her head, “Go ahead and take it, it’ll probably make a great surprise for the mrs. don’t you think?” She ran a hand thorugh her hair, “Nope, I’m walking. Unless you’re giving a ride home, think the mrs. would have a problem with you taking home a stripper?” She teases, she was perfectly capable of driving home.
“Tonight is actually one of the few I have the car, so I can drive you home,” He offered, but then shook his head about her remark about Amelia. He twisted the ring around his finger, a habit he always did when his hands weren’t too busy. He swore that little band of silver was more uncomfortable than a pair of handcuffs. “We’re secure enough for her not to give a shit. She gives rides to her starving artist boys all the damn time and gives them our couch to crash on. Least I could do is give a friend a drive home after a few drinks, right?”

Harlow chuckles at his response and reads the name on the card, “You’re in luck Vincent, this just happens to be yours. But since I found it, where’s my reward?” She asked simply teasing.
“Perfect.” By this point, he’d reached the bar and was leaning against it. “Reward, huh?” Vincent flashed her a smile. “What do you want, beautiful?”

“Business?” She scoffed, “I’d hardly call it that.” She laughed at his playful wink and winked back at him, “But such a cute boy talking to me? Oh gosh it’s already going to my head, I’m swooning.” She said imitating a love struck teen, raising her pitch.
Harlow’s eyes curiously scanned over his actions, but didn’t say anything. She instead focused her attention on cleaning something she supposed to be helping him with. When she sees him look over to him putting alcohol in a bag she snorts, “I was joking about the whole liquor thing.” She walks over and nudges him, “One more drink before I go home? Netflix can only be so comforting.”
“I did say the bottle was part of the deal, and I don’t break my promises. But if you don’t want it, I’ll gladly take it for myself,” He said with a shrug, placing the last of the bottles away. He poured her another drink but was hesitant to hand it to her. “You driving yourself home?”

hkauri:
“It was a joke relax, believe it or not,” She looked around as if to see if there was anyone around who could hear her other than him then whispered, “I actually like you working here, and don’t wanna get you fired.”
“Wow. I can really tell, there’s just so much love in your voice.” She rolled her eyes at him yet again, it was becoming a habit, as if she didn’t already do it enough in general. She put a hand over her chest, “Ouch. I went from being Harlow to be just a ‘dancer’ you really could be a regular here.” The sarcasm seething from her words.
“Keep up with that sensitivity and you’ll never make it this business,” He told her, adjusting the pitch in his voice to mimic that of their boss. He chuckled and gave her playful wink. “Just keeping you on your toes, can’t let that head of yours get too big.”
He made a point of bumping into her as he opened the cabinet under the counter, and as his eyes fell on the same brown bag that had been shuffled between the glasses all night. He hadn’t realized what it was until now, the lights in the club not s dim, he could see the familiar scrawl of handwriting on it. He always forgot the man’s name, and Ariel wondered if he would even have to remember it at this point with how careless he was with his product and how slow of a mover he was. Thankfully, the man had never met Ariel face to face even though they worked the bar together and it would be easy to let him go.
Taking the opportunity to take the bag back into his possession and give Harlow the liquor he promised, he took his backpack that was sitting on one of the boxes and shoved it along with a few half empty bottles into it. He held the bag between, letting the bottles clink together softly.
“Just remind me after we’re done and I’ll hand them to you outside,” He said, grinning.

hkauri:
“And so what if I winked at you? Being seductive is part of my job, and, don’t you have a wife?” She asked with a raised brow. She listened carefully to his instructions, “Mixers under the counter, beers in the fridge, and I get to drink the liquor?”
“Shut up, I’ll pour you another drink once we’re halfway through, and if you’re not too much of a pain in my ass, maybe I’ll give you one of the old ones to take with you.”
The thought of Amelia practically brought on a headache. She was the true pain in his ass. God, did he despise her. He lifted his hands up in defeat, a gesture he tended to do a lot in such innocent situations like these when in reality, he should have used that attitude for the more serious trouble he got himself into.
“And I love her very much, which is why a dancer winking at me has no effect,” He said, a rather rehearsed line that he didn’t bother hiding the lack of empathy behind.

She rolled her eyes playfully as she adjusted her outfit, “Really? Because the last time I checked the back exit wasn’t by my pole, unless of course, you were staring?” She laughs teasing as she always did. She stepped through the door and nodded, “Why not? I’m in a helpful enough mood.”
“You obviously didn’t mind too much considering you winked at me, and we both know that my end of the bar was empty since we were dry by 11 PM.”
He opened the boxes with one of the many keys the club entrusted him with. “I’ve got most of these boxes accounted for, they just need to be stored up on this wall and in the cabinets. Mixers go under the counter, liquor goes on the shelf, beers in the fridge. Got it?”

“Maybe if you didn’t stare all the time we’d be nicer.” Harlow teased, she’d never even actually paid attention to the bar during her shift. “So, regarding cleaning, what do you need me to do?”

“He just left not too long ago.” Her green eyes flickered up to him before scanning the bar, “Though I’m guessing this must be yours.” She said swiftly flicking up the card.
“Fuck.” His eyebrows furrowed together before the wrinkles fell away in relief as she held up the card. “God I hope so. Uh, Vincent Carmichael.”

“Pft, you wish. I’d get probably still get more tips then you even if you were completely naked.” She laughs again before rolling her eyes out of habit, though it’s more playful than anything. “Let me help, I’ve literally got nothing better to do, and hanging out with you isn’t completely unbearable.”
hkauri:
“Maybe you should consider dancing,” She teased with a smirk, “We get plenty of tips, and I’m sure the girls would just fall at your feet.” She laughed and sipped the drink happily, “Probably the usual, watch some Netflix and then pass out on the couch.” She shrugged.
“Amelia’s got no problem with me working at a strip club, but I actually stripped here, maybe then she would have an issue,” He said, returning a smirk. “And even if I did, there would be no tips for you girls.”
He nodded at her. “Sounds like a good plan. I’ve got about another hour here cleaning up and then I have to wait for the Mrs. to drive over and pick me up. Maybe a little Netflix if I don’t pass out on the drive home.”

“Tonight? Not much. Ask me tomorrow on pay day and you might get a better answer,” He said, though his eagerness went beyond the check from the strip club, but his business on the side. He prepared her infamous order and set the glass on the counter. “You?”

When she first started being a stripper at the end of the night her everything would hurt. But now, the aches and pains were just apart of what made her job. It was just before closing time and she was sitting down at the bar when she felt the doors open, she sighed. “If you want something, you better make it quick.”

“Ariel, I work here. Just get me something to drink before my shift, I’m not in the mood.”
“Can I help you- actually, I take that back. I’m on break.”
