Pear why you. I was with you the day you were sick. You couldn't walk or eat. So we just sat there and I held you while your body just quivered in my lap. I feel like I failed you Pear. I told you I'd do everything I can to get you out and now look 😞😞😞 I came in and I didn't see you. Then someone else came in and asked for you to adopt you and they lied and said you were adopted. Before you think about buying a dog from a shitty breeder take a look at all the faces who may not make it out alive. These babies have been betrayed by their previous owners and landed here in prison locked away to only be destroyed if no one comes to the rescue. So many people come to the shelter with these high expectations that they'll find this healthy gorgeous puppy as if they were shopping for a pair of new shoes. So many of you need to open your eyes and face the reality that animal abuse, abandonment and neglect exist not every dog at the shelter has had a good life. They weren't all loved or well taken care of. I write this in tears to you because I feel what I do isn't enough for these angels. I write to you in tears because so many people don't care enough to educate themselves. My sweet boy Zinc is still waiting for someone to come to his rescue. Zinc is 2 years old and up for adoption at Manhattan Center. By @fistfullofbliss: "Growing up I was always surrounded around animals. Cats, dogs, fish, turtles etc. I was always exposed to the brighter side of the picture rather than what really happens. I started to learn not every animal was treated fairly and not every animal makes it out alive. I started to see the world for what it really was. I then became determined to use my voice to make a difference. I've fostered, I've volunteered, rescued and adopted. Every day I learn something new. I learn that there's so much more I can do and I will do for these animals. In the picture above you see Zoe and Steve. I rescued Steve (black chi) from a breeder 5 years ago his mother was seriously over breeded. Zoe (white chi) I fostered for @waggytailrescue and honestly she's seriously changed my life. She was only 5 months when she came to me from a highkill shelter. Which meant if I didn't step in she would've never gotten a chance. This is why I feel so strongly about adopting, spaying and neutering because honestly so many don't make it out alive. My sweet girl princess who is not in the photo passed away at only 4 years old because her mama was breeded way too much which caused her to have a severe heart murmur. Every day that passes by I fight harder and harder for these animals because they all deserve a chance. They deserve to get the love and affection they truly deserve. I just would love to say how grateful I am of @freethechi for allowing me to share my story and why I do what I do. You are one of my biggest inspirations. The animal sheltering system is literally breaking my heart. I'm not just talking about ACC. I'm talking about every high kill shelter there is in the United States. These perfectly healthy adoptable animals are dehumanized. They aren't given the proper food or attention they need to make it out. So many catch "the cold" that's fixed within 7-10 days and lose their life over it. Proper air ventilation isn't even a priority at these shelters. These shelters don't even provide the proper shelter for these animals to even be comfortable while they are there. Kennels are almost never presentable. So many animals are in distress that it makes people intimidated to approach them. But yet so many funds and donations are given to them but yet the animals are still treated like shit. Every day just gets worse, this is Sarge a 4 year old GSD, he has lived with his owners since he was a pup, owners were told it was ok to have a dog when moving into new place, now landlord wants Sarge out, because the neighbors are saying since the nice weather is coming they are afraid the dog will go after them or their children. We have ONE, yes ONE day to get him out, and thats today.
