I'm trying to prove a point to my brain: Reblog if you think fanfiction does not need sex to be good.
There is a trend I’ve noticed that smut fics tend to be much more popular than anything else and honestly I just want to have something to look at to remind myself and that writing doesn’t have to have sex to be worth putting out into the community.

I've been working on a piece for the Transformers Reverse Big Bang (@tf-bigbang), and here's a little preview of that fic: A few cycles passed before someone spoke up.
“I’ve got an idea.” Rosanna broke the silence as she braced her elbows on her knees, letting her arms dangle while she clasped both of her servos together. A few nano klicks passed before she spoke again, this time a little more steady and firm than before, “If you want to hear it.”
“Shoot,” Blaster leaned back and took his servo off of her shoulder, “I’m all audials.”
“I was thinking - we’ll host a memorial concert. To lift people's spirits and to honor those that were killed in Iacon. All of those proceeds, donations and sales will go to the victims - or any charities that will help them.”
“That’s nice.” He gave a quick nod of his head, with a faint grin to match. “Raise people's spirits, I like your thinking.”
“And since we’re stuck here with no word on whether it’ll be safe to go out soon, we’ll host the concert here in this hall. All of the equipment is here, plus the routines and songs are practically etched into my memory banks at this point. We can set it up tonight or tomorrow morning, and it’ll all be done within one day.”
“Yeah, that-” He began his sentence, but soon stopped in his tracks. “Whoa, back up Rosanna. Don’t you think it’s a little too early to start a memorial concert? Y’know, with everyone worried that the psychos behind this are gonna pull off another stunt like this? And with the entirety of Iacon on lockdown as well?”
“Well, yeah - but every military group we can name is on the premises. Security is even tighter than normal, you said it yourself. And that also means other terrorists can’t get into here, right?”
Big thanks to @geekcentre for drawing the artwork my fic is based on.

You know, an interesting tumblr transformation that's happened gradually, and which I've seen no one talk about: ask-culture has essentially dropped off to nothing.
By which I mean, asks used to be WAY more of the tumblr economy. They used to be more common to send, and receive, and see. They were integral to the collaborative, forum-like behavior of old tumblr communities, not even to speak on the HUGE number of ask-blogs that used to exist to only be interacted with in ask-form.
I'm not saying this in a vying-for-attention way but instead in an observational way: I used to get way way more asks in like 2015, even with a fraction of my follower count. I wonder if it's due to the homogenization of social media sites? There's a lot more of this divide between "content creator" and "consumer" instead of just a bunch of peer blogs who would talk to each other. "Asks" aren't really a thing on twitter, are they? And as I understand it, the closest thing to an "ask" on instagram or tiktok would be a creator screenshotting some comment and responding to it in a new reel or video or whatever those content mediums are. Are asks just too tumblr-specific? Is that aspect of the site culture dying out as more and more people converge to using all their social media sites in the same way?

There should be a fanfic writing game called the showrunners challenge where someone writes a story and partway through someone else can play things like "actor leaves after 4000 more words" or "topic now too politically sensitive due to unforeseen world events" or "lost rights to that reference"

To celebrate 40 years of Transformers I decided to make a prompt list for creators in May!
Feel free to choose between doing one fanwork every three days or doing one for the 6-day themes~ (Or just doing the Themes you like haha)
Bc of the Big Bang happening at the same time, this prompt list is more a chill thing to join for any type of creator, be it writer, editor, 2D/3D artist or anything else!
I'd be super happy to see some reblogs and many participants! Feel free to use this graphic and tag me in your posts~ (The Tag to be used is #bwans-transformay-2024 in case you don't wanna @ me hehe)
And since I've been asked before: Ofc you're allowed to draw you OCs for this! You can do anything, be it a single character, a whole scene, an artwork of your OC, whatever inspiration brings to you <3
