I will never tire of expanding on the wizarding world as I imagine it. As such, I want to share those imaginings with other fans. Some may imagine a bit different and that's perfectly fine. They can have their own blog for that. My name is Pierce Harte and this is my Harry Potter World.

Headcanon:
The Marauders used to take turns taking care of Harry when the others had Order business or were too busy or needed a night off. It became a tradition among them, as they were passing the baby into the next caretaker’s hands, to say “you’re it. good luck.”
The last thing Sirius saw as he was falling through the veil was Remus running over to Harry, and the last thought that ran through his head was “you’re it. good luck.”

→ A Post Exchange
In order to maintain the Statute of Secrecy, even through means of communication between wizarding children and their muggle family members or unaware friends, there is a post exchange office in Diagon Alley where owlpost on its way to muggle counterparts can be commandeered and sent through the muggle post system.
This does not bind everyone to such a method and only concerned witches and wizards use the post exchange office regularly. Some attempt to post by muggle method on their own or disregard the concern--such as with family members who know. After the second wizarding war, however, the post exchange office became steadily more desirable and known commonly in wizarding Britain. The volume of post going through the office has increase into the next generation, something the Ministry is pleased to be informed of.

→ Wizards, Witches, and the Gay Parade
Among the countless things that sets Wizarding society apart from muggle nations is their opinion on homosexuality. On the whole, it is viewed as entirely natural and no one knows a time where it wasn't normal to spot same-sex couples holding hands while they shopped just like their heterosexual equals. This isn't to say that every individual finds it wholesome and acceptable but they are a minority. All couples have equal access to marriage and adoption. There's only one caveat special to Pureblood ideology.
Until the innovation in same-sex pregnancies, Pureblood families staunchly stood behind the belief that homosexual children are free to take on lovers, especially as a way to familiarize themselves with sex without jeopardising their virginities (mostly applicable to daughters as the sons didn't have as strict a need for purity). However, the children were still expected to take up the responsibility of marriage to someone of the opposite sex to ensure the continuation of the bloodline and keeping the tradition of the family name. What they chose to do behind closed doors during their marriage was private and they could take lovers as long as discretion was maintained.
After the concern of maintain the pure bloodline became moot with Octavia's discovery, there were many families who became lenient about marriage to someone of the same-sex while others still expressed disdain should their children grow up and choose to ignore the traditional Pureblood family structure.

Contraceptive Charm + Potion
Charm: spermis barriera
The contraceptive charm is the wizarding equivalent to muggle condoms. It can be cast on either partner or both. The spell forms a magical barrier to prevent the ejaculation fluids from entering through the female’s cervix. Cast only on the male and it surrounds the head of the penis. On the female it forms over the cervix and obviously if cast on both it doubly protects both the exit and entrance. Of course the strength and efficiency of the spell is dependent on the skill of the caster. It is recommended that the better caster or the partner with more experience using the charm be the one to use the spell.
Unlike muggle condoms, this spell does not prevent the transmission of all sexually transmitted infections and diseases.
Potion: main ingredient is full head of Mandrake leaves
In contrast, the contraceptive potion is administered like birth control to women. Until 1990, there was only one potion capable of pregnancy prevention with an 87% success rate. However, the side effects of the potion--severe acne, green rashes in sensitive areas of the body, and leaky ears made the potion a difficult sell, especially when attempts to modify the potion to be less offensive failed. In 1990 Felickaria Tugwood, who took after her mother in inventing potions for women's well-beings, discovered that if lily petals were substituted for the valerian root, the potion the side effects lessened drastically and the required measurements for administering the potion could become variable depending on how well one woman's body could metabolise the potion in one dose.
Most Healers and concerned mothers will recommend both the spell and potion should be utilised for optimal pregnancy prevention. There is a potent emergency potion that can be used as a "Plan B" if things happen without safety first, but the cost of the potion ingredients makes it difficult to come by.

→ The Magic of Pregnancy
Some expecting mothers are incredibly startled the first time their wand casts the wrong spell or they hiccup and the candle at their bedside goes out. A woman's magic becomes rather alarmed when it discovers a second heartbeat nestled in their space and begins to act up a bit during the second trimester as it tries to adjust to the new presence and adapt to caring for the budding baby bundle as well as the magical well-being of the mother.
This is not to say that the child is beyond a doubt going to be magically endowed and some mothers experience very little magical disruption only to discover their child has their first bit of accidental magic earlier than his or her playmates.

→ A Joke and a Blood Test
It had been a joke, the rare one Arsenius Jigger ever made, but it grew and spread. Without realising just how ignorant the Pureblood families could be, Jigger made one offhanded comment about a "Blood Test" and the Pureblood faction were convinced that a potion had been discovered that would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that a person was Muggleborn, Half-Blood, or Pure.
No one dared tell them it wasn't really possible.

→ Religious Contradiction
The Wizarding World never has given to much thought on the topic of religion. Especially after the Inquisition and witch hunts. Of course there has always been varying levels of it depending on which part of the world one visits but in the UK, its always ranked rather low. Still, religion does seep in and it has had some stunning results over the years. While the majority of religious witches and wizards are well adjusted to their reality, some become so enamoured with religion that they have trouble reconciling their new faith with their birthright.
An arduous and formal process can be started to bind a person's magic, making them for all intents and purposes muggle. The ministry's Department of Magical Accidents & Catastrophes became responsible for handling the requests when it became clear that they weren't stopping. Once their magic is successfully bound, the person in question has their wand taken from them and their memories modified before being sent into the muggle world and never seen again.
It is kept incredibly hushed that such a thing happens as the Ministry doesn't want to alarm others. However, this binding is one cause of Muggleborn children when, generations later, the binding spell is weakened by the successive wear and raw magic is stronger.
The creation of the binding spell was tasked to the Department of Mysteries, for obvious reasons.

Homestone
The Portkey's companion, the Homestone is a carefully distributed form of transportation. Rather than being keyed to a specific location set to activate only at a certain time or for a certain instance of touch, the Homestone is keyed to one person's wand and magical signature and to that person's home. It activates whenever the wand taps against the stone's surface three times and then waved in a circle over it.
This stone can be activated at any time a person is away from home and will not respond to any other person's wand except those registered to it. When the Homestone first appeared in 2006, it was challenged. When you can Apparate, what use would you have for a stone? However, there is no risk of splinching and it's much safer for pregnant women and small children.
