There's definitely a somewhat interesting discussion to be had regarding 'chat' but yeah, simply throwing terms like '4th person pronoun' around blindly isn't helpful to that discussion at all
I keep seeing the "chat is a fourth person pronoun" post and it's getting increasingly hard to avoid starting discourse in the notes of it. chat I don't think they know what these linguistics terms they're using mean

Good news is that they actually did make this and it's called tea
Bad news is that the effect is only temporary
they should make a soup that fixes everything. one sip and you are free. one slurp and it all makes sense

I've been rewatching The Legend of Korra and it occurred to me that the show has basically almost no filler episodes at all. Which is interesting since Avatar: The Last Airbender had plenty. And it somehow got me thinking about real life relationships and how most friendships are mostly made up of "filler episodes". Like, all relationships have several key moments, but certain relationships also have a lot of mundane moments. And I think it makes them special in a way. And I think that TLoK could've used some filler episodes. And it reminds me that boring, mundane moments are important to have in my relationships.

I think I never internalized the idea of accumulated work over time. Like I know it's a thing, but my brain still somehow believes that one-session-ing is the right way to go about everything, and it's probably the main reason I procrastinate and tend to not finish projects.

oh you're in a horror film/book and your phone died/has no bars? how boring. I think phones in horror SHOULD work. they should ding only to have the protagonist check and find nothing. they should get calls from somebody you don't know but is still somehow in your contacts. google maps should lead you to one place, no matter what address you type in.
phones are such a big part of our daily lives, removing them from horror removes the horror from our experience. what if the horror felt like it could happen to you, right here, right now? what if it felt like it was already happening?

One time I tried to listen to a true crime podcast (I've never denied being an edgelord with a fascination for macabre shit) but I tapped out halfway through the first episode b/c the people on the serial killer podcast started talking about how being a goth is a sign that someone is probably a serial killer

y'all are absolutely free to use tumblr however you please but I want redditors to know that they could, hypothetically, start a sideblog about a particular topic, add moderators to it, turn on submissions (and asks), make an "about" page laying out rules and such, and create a good tagging system. If you want it to be a bit more familiar.
