i originally started this in 2023 but only got to finish it now, so yeah this is a "self portrait" of me from back then. very different times.

Grazhdanskaya Oborona (Гражданская оборона) patch i made for my boyfriend a while ago

the tiny lines were very tricky to do so I just used a black gel pen for that and it still didn't turn out as good as i wanted it to be.

here's my first ever jacket that I finished about 6 months ago

i've been making it since September 2023, the patches at the front are really bad because i literally just used markers to make them but the improvement can be seen in the back when I actually learned how to make them properly.

overall, i think the front is a little overdone and i lost motivation to actually fill in the back, but i've moved on to new projects so i'll just leave it like this for now. I gave up on studding it because I couldn't find bigger spikes. it's also a little small on me anyway 😔

that elitism shit is weird as hell man. would love to know ur thought process with that one. idk if you think it makes you more punk or whatever but that statement reeks of ignorance and insecurities

okay okay i added that after posting the introduction originally mostly to repel the "you don't need politics to be punk" people, i do realize i wrote it in a very unspecified way.

Generally speaking, when I say "elitism" i don't mean walking up to people and calling them "posers" based on their appearance or asking people to name 3 songs because that's just very obnoxious to do.

I also mean keeping out right wing, nationalist, hypocritical people that go against what they claim to believe in and people who just dress in an "alternative" way but don't have any knowledge on a subculture's history and claim to know everything (I've had a "nazi skinhead" tell me I can't wear white suspenders because "suspenders have color codes", apparently. (NO THEY FUCKING DON'T???)) or people who don't go to any shows, don't show up at protests, don't spread awareness about anything while preaching online how it's important to have a community.

We have a lot of people in my local scene that come to punk or hc shows and then complain when there's ANY kind of politics except "the government is bad" in song lyrics because suddenly it's "too political" for them (??). I've been told by other alternative people that I "talk too much politics" and "nobody cares about what I belive in" (when I literally just say I hate fascists or something) meanwhile they go around being friends with actual neo-nazis and violent nationalists who spew their own beliefs because that's somehow okay.

I hope i cleared that up enough, i just don't know how I would rephrase that bit in the introduction to capture everything i've said here??
