Had a great day yesterday! There was a Juneteenth celebration in town that I went to and ended up getting sunburnt.
I got to sit in the hammock for awhile when the sun started to go down which was very nice. The weather was perfect!
Wendy normally sleeps in her bed that’s in the window but she decided the sock bin was a better fit.

I started my new shift/position yesterday. And lord is there a lot of standing. 9 hours of straight up standing. My feet were HURTING.
I also was being trained by a feral old man. He was moving so fast. Rabid raccoon style.
After work I went to target w my boyfriend since he was off work.
I snapped this picture before I went to bed, the sunset was wild.

I had a pretty awesome day today. I have been up since 430a. I went and hung out with my grandmother. She was going through old pictures of my grandfathers family. These books are from my great grandmother. She used to live in mounds park where the pamphlet is from.
I went and got a new body spray from tj maxx. I noticed the orange body spray I had for my citrus summer smell was leaving more cotton candy on my skin and I wasn’t vibing with it. I took my grandmother with me. I figured she would have wanted to go out. It was nice to spend some time with her outside of her house.
After that I had a psych appointment. Which was good. We are upping one of my medicines so hopefully a lil tweak will help me feel a little more stable.
Then my step sister came over. We went to target and the grocery store. I picked up stuff for BLT’s in true midwestern fashion. We took a nap on the couch after we ate and went and got ice cream when we woke up.
We sat on the front porch and ate our ice cream while it started raining. It was a pretty awesome day.

Went to a cafe that has a nursery. Picked up this awesome toast and a honey vanilla latte. Then this cute lil plant as well!
Today was pretty chill I took the day off so I could start preparing for my dayshift schedule. I didn’t do much I went to the bank before I went and got coffee.
I went home and did some homework. Then I accidentally took a nap lol. I woke up around 8p. But I’m gonna try and workout and then go to sleep to try and get up early tomorrow, Around 6a.

How to start your college journey
Starting college? Here are a few tips from a first year college student at 25
First, I think it’s really important that you have a designated study space. This space should be an at home office, library, or a desk at home that you are using just for school work. I have a desk in our spare bedroom that I use for only school work.
Always spruce up your space. Get some cute pens and pencils to have in a lil cup or pen holder. Make this space aesthetic! You’re gonna spend some time here might as well make it your own. I have some shelving I hung and added house plants and some cute ✨ trinkets ✨.
Learn to carve time out now, it will help you later. Grab a cute notebook or use your computer or iPad to start a notion page. I know that is super popular! I just use a todo notebook my mom got me for Christmas!
Have some good tunes to listen to! I love listening to Lofi or having a study with me vlog going on in the background.
Use a study technique! There are tons out there what i like to use is the pomodoro technique. I study for 50 minutes and take a 10 or 15 minute break. Do some research on different study techniques to see what will work best for you!
Create a goal for your first few months of class. I said I wanted to pass all of my classes with a b or better. Make sure that ur goal is actually achievable. You do not want to set urself up for failure!

I’m having a pretty decent night. I’m so excited to start my new shift on the 17th.
I have been thinking about how I have been acting and letting people control how I am feeling. Specifically my sister who I work with.
When I start my new shift I won’t be working with her anymore. But I think I should drop some tips to help others who are stuck letting other people dictate how you feel.
-don’t talk to people who bring you down. This one this kind of hard fr. Because sometimes the people who bring you down are the people you come into contact with everyday.
-if someone starts complaining simply respond and move on. Do not let them bring you down to their level. I know that it’s easy to complain with others but to keep a positive mindset you have to let the complaining go.
-try to find positive people to be around. This will help you condition yourself to be a more positive person.
-remember who you want to be! And that should be a more positive person!

summer glowup guide ᡣ𐭩ྀིྀི₊ ⊹
happy summer break!! it's time to rest and reset, and become the best version of yourself! here's a little guide and some tips ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚
makeup/skincare:
♡ throw out any expired products
♡ clean any brushes or applicators
♡ reorganize your products
♡ remember to wear sunscreen everyday and reapply if you're going outside for more than an hour!
fashion:
♡ sort through your clothes and donate any you don't wear
♡ wear cute and comfy clothes that will keep you cool
♡ go shopping or thrifting as a fun activity
academics:
♡ remember to rest, and take it easy. this is your break after all!
♡ throw away old journals or papers you don't need
♡ empty and clean our your backpack, pencil bag, purses, etc.
♡ when test scores come back- be proud of yourself, and try to figure out any mistakes you made
♡ make a study schedule for any work or studying you want/need to do!
♡ don't procrastinate on studying if you have an exam in the fall, like the PSAT. you don't want to wait until the last minute!
♡ set goals for yourself- ex: five hours of studying a week, one module a day, etc.
health:
♡ drink lots of water!! as it heats up, staying hydrated is even more important
♡ eat at least three full meals a day, or at least snack regularly
♡ stay active! exercising at least three times a week is a good way to get started
♡ take your meds on time! -> this is so important. taking my antidepressants regularly has helped me feel SO much better and happier
♡ be patient and loving with yourself. your body is not going to change in a day, and you don't need a perfect beach body to look amazing and be worthy of love. what matters much more is that you are as healthy as you can be
hobbies:
♡ it's finally the time to do all the things you didn't have time to do during the school year!
♡ writing, drawing, painting, playing an instrument, crocheting, knitting, reading, making arts and crafts
♡ try to find stuff to do that gets you off of your phone/the internet
mindset:
♡ summer break is a time for resting, but it's also a chance for you to improve yourself! didn't like how you acted or the grades you got last year? you always have another chance!
♡ reflect on yourself, the things and people that make you happy, and the things that don't. it's not easy getting rid of toxicity and negativity- but being at peace, even if it's alone, is a wonderful feeling.
♡ be patient with yourself. you are not going to change in a day, and it takes a long time to form habits and get to where you want to be. but taking small steps and making changes every day is so important.
♡ be kind, be loving, and be the kind of person you want to be.
i love you all and i hope you have an amazing summer!! ˚ʚ♡ɞ˚

Today has been wild emotionally. I slept in because I was tired. I dont really feel like going into work but here I am lord. I have been up and down emotionally. I have been trying to regulate myself by doing some breathing and trying not to focus on how miserable work makes me.
I have one more week and then I am free from my current position and move to a different one. Thankfully I think this will help me mentally and I might actually be excited to come into work because I’m learning something new.
I meant to blog more during my weekend. But I didn’t really do much. This weekend I will try to be better.

Hot girl on a budget
↣Invest in quality products - Instead of buying alot of cheap skincare and barely using it or having a skin reaction. Pro tip-Buy travel size to try it out to make sure its not going to bother your skin!
↣Love cafes? Hate the price? Try to make your drinks at home! I was lucky enough to have a coworker give me their old Nespresso, but you can try to make different drinks. Matcha's, lattes, and iced coffees. Pro tip-Check your local TJMaxx for different syrups and cute coffee mugs.
↣I love aerie, but hate paying aerie prices. I always try to hit up Plato's Closet before I go and pay full price for clothes. My local Plato's has a lululemon rack as well! But I also find some stuff at goodwill but the fire does not live in the goodwill's around me.
↣Makeup, we play the same game with skincare. I buy mostly travel size products. I do not wear makeup every day because of my job. But if you buy make up make sure to buy QUALITY products. Always go and check out makeup before you buy it. You can go to Ulta to get a color match for your foundation! you can also sign up for rewards at Sephora and get free products
↣DO NOT sleep on TJMaxx. I find alot of really good products there. I did a post recently on my smell good stuff. Its easy to pick and choose products. They also have alot of different products. I've even found my Clinique moisturizer at TJ before!
