"Homosexuality was well known in the ancient world, well before Christ was born and Jesus never said a word about homosexuality. In all of his teachings about multiple things—he never said that gay people should be condemned." - Jimmy Carter
Our 39th president was ahead of his time and is what a real Christian sounds like. Both my parents were Christian but also very accepting of people of all types. Even when I was little, in the early 1970's, I remember this about them. I hate that Christianity has been soiled by those who do hateful things in God's name. They are not real Christians. I am agnostic (meaning I don't know) for very personal reasons. But am incredibly grateful that my parents showed me what real Christians look and act like. My mom and dad are still my role models on how others should be treated.

Shows just how wild our world still is.
Last week if you told me you had "Trump accuses Kamala Harris of racefaking in front of an audience of black journalists" on your bingo card, I would've chastised you for an incredibly poor-taste joke, but apparently you can mark that square today

Great list. To be honest, not only for us writers but, um, I think I've said some of these in the past!!!
Ideas to Show Secret Pining
"Why don't you join me?"
"I'll give you a ride, don't worry."
*does something they don't like* "What? I like it."
*immense staring at every chance they get*
*thinking of their crush while listening to songs*
"You said you liked it so I brought it for you."
*finds ways to spend more time with them*
*friendly bullying intensifies*
"I'm looking forward to seeing you there."
"Are you gonna be there?"
"How about we sneak off, just you and me?"
"Why don't I cook for them? What's their favourite dish again?"
*aggressive google searches about how to propose to your crush*
"I'll join those dance lessons, maybe then she'll notice me."
*hopeless around them*
*failed flirting attempts*
*increased compliments*
"My problem is that I like them a little too much for my sanity."
*gets jealous* "So, are you seeing them or something?"
"Are you okay?" // "Completely okay!" (definitely not okay)
*tries to sabotage their crush's date*
*gets into trouble so they can be scolded by their crush*
"I want you to come with me, please?"

Happy Father's Day to my loving, funny, & sweet dad. Photo from 1971. It's of my sister Becky holding me while our dad was goofing around with us. 🙃 Sadly, he passed away in 1998 from cancer, only 67 years old. Miss you, dad.

Martin Luther King Jr. was one of our world’s greatest thinkers and activists with his life making a lasting impact on everyone, even today.
Did you know a Memphis jury, in 1999, ruled that the local, state, and federal governments were liable for King’s death? Coretta Scott King endured the FBI’s campaign to discredit her husband and was open in her belief that a conspiracy led to the assassination. Her family filed a civil suit to force more information into the public eye. They won.
Suggested Reading:
Complete transcript of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Assassination Conspiracy Trial.
The King Family Press Conference held the day after the trial is another starting point.
Article by Jim Douglass is excellent. He was the only person who attended the entire trial who wasn’t one of the courtroom participants. “The Martin Luther King Conspiracy Exposed in Memphis”.
Talk given by William Pepper during the 2003 release of his new book, “An Act of State - The Execution of Martin Luther King”.

So very true. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until well into adulthood. Being neurodivergent (ADHD) continues to surprise me in all the ways it affects my life, including my relationships.

I love these prompts because it also makes a person think about their own relationships. Kind of an interesting list to read. Plus, excellent writing prompts as well.
quiet acts of love that make me cry 🫂
prompt list by @novelbear
always giving the other the first bite of their food
^ or the last bite
gently resting their head on their shoulder when taking a picture/peeking at something
kisses. on. the. tip. of. the. nose.
zipping or buttoning their jacket for them
when they follow the sidewalk rule :(
^ like imagine realizing it as they gently take the other's wrist and guide them to the other side...omg
waiting until they safely reach the front of the door or get inside before driving off
"did you eat today?"
softly dusting crumbs from their cheeks when eating
^ or even better: kissing it off
"wear a jacket, it's cold out."
watching a movie or show that they know they're interested in.
^ not because they asked them to, but to be able to engage in more conversation related to it when they adorably ramble on and on.
doing their makeup for them
"i brought you flowers." "for what?" "there has to be a reason?"
keeping a few of their favorite snacks in the house for when they visit.
opening the door for them or pulling their seat out before they sit down
lifting the shorter one up so they can be seen in photos
absentmindedly playing with their hair at all times
fixing their clothes a little for them when noticing something is off

Once again recommending donations to the Palestinian Children’s Relief Fund. Not only is it a credible organization, you can donate any amount, so even if you don’t have much money, you can still contribute what you can towards humanitarian aid in Gaza. It takes donations via credit, PayPal, and mailed checks.
