my friend told me yesterday that this person told her that a couple of guys from my school thought I was really pretty and then they wondered why I never had a boyfriend in high school. Then one of the boys said "it's probably because she's really opinionated" and ding ding ding ding that's your answer about why I never dated high school boys. immaturity at its finest!
#girls have OPINIONS?!?! OH MY GOD#feminism#dating#yeah like im going to date someone who thinks girls should be there to look pretty and have no opinions whatsoever about anything

first 9 mile run (ever) around the course of my half marathon and what got me to finish strong was imagining Chris Powell from Extreme Weight Loss running next to me and telling me "you got it, you got it, just one foot in front of the other! don't stop!"
It worked :)

Okay If your like me and get “Chocolate is yummy and delicious and I want it now!" kind of craving, then I completely suggest making these bars. They’re absolutely delicious and aren’t a punch in face to your lovely clean eating ways.
— 1 cup pitted dates
— 1/2 cup almonds, unsalted
— 1/4 cup walnuts, unsalted
— 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
— 2 ripe bananas
— 4 tbsp natural nut butter (I like almond for this recipe!)
— 1/4 cup more unsweetened cocoa powder
— 4 tbsp honey or agave
Put dates in a bowl of warm water and allow to soak for 30 minutes, then drain. Mix dates, almonds, walnuts, and 1/4 cup cocoa powder in a food processor until well blended. Spread mixture in a 9×5 baking pan (or an 8×8 is okay if you like them really thick) until evenly distributed, and press down gently with a spoon. Then, mix together bananas, nut butter, honey/agave, and the other 1/4 cup cocoa powder in the food processor until well blended. Spread this mixture over bottom layer until evenly distributed. Place in freezer for AT LEAST 30 minutes. Cut and enjoy the deliciousness! Re-freeze whatever you don’t eat :D

Anyone who runs long distances/is training for a race, DO YOUR INTERVAL TRAINING. you will not believe how much of a difference it makes. I usually weight lift & do other cross-training, but INTERVAL TRAINING HAS SIGNIFICANTLY HELPED ME ON MY RUNS. I have hit PR's in both time and distance LIKE YOU WOULD NOT BELIEVE ever since i started to do HIIT with sprints twice a week.
this is what I do;
SPRINT YOUR HARDEST for 30 sec
Walk for 1 minute
Repeat above cycle 10 times. Preferably do this after a short run or weights workout twice a week. That would make for 20 sprints total in a week. It works like a charm! I swear by it. Your other runs will seem SO much easier, I can't even describe how great these are. If you aren't already doing them, start!!!

We don’t normally go through and re-photograph old recipes on this blog, but last night we made my mom’s classic zucchini bread and it was too good not to share again. (And make look so much better than before!) This bread is crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, lightly sweet, perfect for any meal-snack of the day, and will use utilize the great summer squash, zucchini. Try it out here!
