Lately I've become super attached to Star Trek with my TNG rewatch. I knew if anything could help me get over this fear of the night and get me moving beyond my debilitating fear of the future it would be this show. It's actually a great relief to be able to look up at the night sky and feel that sense of wonder and imagination that I've always had, rather than the grief and pain that I've been paralyzed by for just over a year. I dislike how much PTSD can affect me on a daily basis, but with shows like Star Trek, it's also easy to find hope and inspiration again. It's nice enough to believe in a good, positive future rather than be terrified of something that could happen. And the pain I feel over what's been in my mind for over a year isn't something that I can easily talk about, not even with my best friend, and it's hard to write about it when I just feel lonely. This show helps though, because it puts hope and stories in place of the fear. If ever there was a comfort show for me, it's this one.
