Different Mystery Incorporated members when they’re sick because it just popped up in my head
Fred: *tries to pretend like he’s not* *cries about them making traps and splitting up and solving mysteries while he’s at home*
Daphne: “oh no, I’m okay” *tries to get Fred’s attention*
Velma: *doesn’t mention it but everyone kind of knows* *still does work*
Shaggy: *getting smothered by scooby* *eating even more then he does usually*
Scooby: *getting smothered by the whole group* *has either no appetite or eats everything they could find*

autistic headcanons - fred jones
happy autism acceptance month!
[image id: a 9 image gifset of fred jones from scooby doo. the subject of the gifset is an autistic interpretation of his character, and each gif lists a trait of autism while showing examples of fred having that trait across many scooby doo movies and tv shows.
gif 1: the caption reads: meltdown. fred is digging frantically in the sand, and he is visibly distraught.
gif 2: the caption reads: face blindness. part 1: fred doesn’t recognize velma without her glasses. part 2: fred doesn’t recognize scooby when he’s in a low-effort disguise.
gif 3: the caption reads: fixation on things to the point of self-neglect. part 1: fred is walking down a street during a mission he’s fixated on, and he is very dirty and hasn’t shaved in a long time. part 2: a man has fred’s arm around his shoulder and is helping him walk because he’s so tired.
gif 4: the caption reads: special interest in traps/engineering/cars. fred is looking at a selection of nets and deciding which one to use.
gif 5: the caption reads: happy stimming. fred points at something off-screen, and then hand flaps. the autism infinity symbol is overlaid on this gif.
gif 6: the caption reads: awkward social interactions. fred is talking to a girl. he appears confident. she is annoyed at something he says, and he then appears uncomfortable.
gif 7: the caption reads: attachment to/personification of inanimate comfort object. part 1: fred is hugging the mystery machine and talking to it. part 2: fred is holding the now-wrecked mystery machine’s spare tire cover, and he has a sad expression on his face.
gif 8: the caption reads: difficulty reading social cues/taking things literally. part 1: daphne suggests that she needs CPR to fred (she is really hinting that she wants to kiss), and he gives her actual CPR by pressing on her stomach. part 2: fred is talking to velma, and she walks away looking uncomfortable. he is surprised and seems a bit annoyed.
gif 9: the caption reads: infodumping. part 1: fred and daphne are looking through a scrapbook of his traps, and he’s pointing at things and talking about them. part 2: fred is looking at a magazine and happily talking about something. / end ID]

Fred Jones Sr. would be the type of person to be like “I don’t give a shit” if Fred like idk breaks his leg but then like 2 hours later he’ll come to check on him if that makes any sense

Anyways Fred is autistic and I won’t be taking any criticism. Traps are his special interest.

YES PEOPLE KEEP SAYING “he’s so bad for Daphne their relationship is toxic 🥺🥺” like are we watching the same show? He may not have been able to show to romantic attraction towards her but he really loves her
what people don’t understand about the character of fred jones is that he was the team leader in 1969 because he was the all-american white boy they threw in the cast to appease parents. that’s why he was the leader of the gang then. but he’s STILL the leader of the gang in 2021 because he’s got the kindest heart, he’s the one who remembers all the birthdays, he would give his life for the others in an instant, he’s constantly using his own body to shield the rest of the gang from danger without even thinking, he’s the best at dividing tasks according to everyone’s skillset, he’s the gang’s cheerleader. fred is a himbo, yeah, but he’s still the leader of the gang 50+ years into the franchise’s canon for a reason. he doesn’t underestimate daphne and her multitude of talents, he knows how brilliant velma is and lets her take the metaphorical wheel when she needs to, he brings out the bravery in shaggy and scooby that no one else can see. like….. stop selling this man short put some respect on his name!! he’s the most loyal person alive and THAT’S why he’s the leader
