It includes a watch-type battery which is very nice considering that batteries can be pretty costly depending on the type. When the time comes to change the battery you simply separate the silicone case and remove the LED glowing light mechanism, replace the battery, and assemble it back together. There are no complicated clips or screws to remove making the switch quick and easy. The only thing I would suggest is that the collar light is not great for small pups since it is a bit on the bigger side. I absolutely recommend this glowing collar light to any dog owner.
