Good Morning,
Let’s talk about consistency.
⚠️ Before we begin, quick content warning: in this post I mention mental health, depression, anxiety, chronic illness, motivation, over commitment, (brief) exercising and cooking food. If any of these topics are, or could be triggering to you, please do not proceed, or proceed with caution. ⚠️

There are so many things in life that we all often find ourselves wishing were more consistent: mental health, relationships, finances. In my own life, my battle with consistency has always been about motivation. Amidst the ongoing struggles I faced in my teenage years with depression, anxiety and, at the time, what I had not yet identified as a chronic illness, I lacked the motivation to stay consistent with…anything really. I often found myself trapped in the endless loop of “i need to do this thing, but in order to do this thing, I first need to do these twelve other things!” And the only thing that ever actually happened as a result was a long nap. Now, in my adult life, what has changed? Well, really, not as much as you’d think. Only my mindset.
There are plenty of phrases that we often hear from motivational speakers, therapists, or even read in self-help books that many of us who struggle with consistency and motivation hold very dear: be gentle with yourself, allow yourself grace, healing isn’t linear, one step at a time, don’t beat yourself up, and so many more. The truth is, there is a very fine line between being patient and gentle with yourself, and being passive and complaisant. The latter is a sneaky facilitator for a perpetual halt in progress, disguised as self love. It is true that self love is the basis of healing and becoming the most outstanding version of yourself, but often times self love must mean looking into the mirror and saying to yourself “Yes, i am tired, and that’s ok. Though i may feel as if i can’t, today can’t is not an option. I am tired, but I will do what I need to do for me.”
Want to know secret?
See, with many things in life, the trick is to start small and take it one baby-step at a time. You want to start living a healthier lifestyle? Don’t throw yourself into it, drop hundreds of dollars on yoga mats and fresh organic produce, commit to meal prepping and going to the gym seven days a week. If the foundation to consistency is motivation, don’t over commit yourself. Motivation is a fragile commodity, and becoming discouraged by a lack of progress can be the very thing that leads to giving up on your goals. Likewise, when you start with simple tasks and reachable goals, the feeling of accomplishment you’ll get from meeting them can be exactly what you need to keep moving forward! So, instead of jumping all in, you might start by commitment to consuming at least 2 liters of water per day for a whole week, then the following week, choosing a few nights to cook a healthy and balanced dinner. Slowly you’ll notice that these tasks that began as goals are becoming nothing more than pure habit and routine. You’ll find that being gentle with yourself meant lovingly holding yourself accountable, and little by little, peeling back the bounds of your comfort zone all along. This is not done in some grandiose way, but rather, slowly and carefully, until it becomes second nature to create your own success! So, here’s your sign to start small, meet your goals, and cultivate consistency in your own life!
Yours truly, G

𝒲𝑒𝓁𝒸𝑜𝓂𝑒 𝓉𝑜 𝓂𝓎 𝒞𝑜𝓏𝓎 𝐿𝒾𝓉𝓉𝓁𝑒 𝒞𝑜𝓇𝓃𝑒𝓇
Dear Reader,
I’m thrilled to see that you’ve stumbled upon my corner of the world wide web! Here’s some information about me to help you get started on your journey, a little introduction if you will:
I’m a 20 year old stay at home mom of two, my pronouns are she/her, I am pansexual (married to a cis man) and I am on the autism spectrum. I like reading books when I have time, listening to and discovering new music, cooking, baking, crafty lil things like crochet and jigsaw puzzles, shopping, Korean skin care products, getting piercings, matcha the loml😩, and spending time outdoors.
I’m a very open book, though it takes a while to learn and read me, I implore you to try! My inbox is always open and i love making new friends, especially in online spaces. In my physical world and personal life, my social circle is relatively small and close knit, but often i am either the oldest, or at the very least, i come off as the oldest- which may be due my mother’s instinct- having children transforms you into a natural caregiver.😆
I am a non-judgmental person, my MBTI type is INFJ, which I was in denial about for a long time- I didn’t want to be one of those people that sounds braggy about their type being rare, lmfao. I actually took the test so many times to double check, and consistently received the same results over and over, to the point where i sent my mother and my husband the link to have them answer the questions from their own perspective of me. Both of their tests still resulted in INFJ. I still question it to this day. 😭
I voted blue this election, and my husband did as well, because his mother raised him a democrat and feminist like the queen she is. We’re both huge advocates for human rights and environmentalism, and I’m raising my children to love people and seek peace, equality, and justice always. I cried many nights in a row following the election results, and I’m doing everything I can to reach out and remind those around me that no matter their race, sexuality, gender identity or religion, they are safe and free to express themselves in my presence. I say all of this to serve as a reminder that you, no matter who you are and who you love, are welcome and safe here in my little corner!
I encourage everyone who stumbles upon this blog to stay a while, enjoy your time and never feel rushed, spam like my posts, flood my inbox, send me song recommendations, show me things you’ve created, books you’ve read, tell me what’s troubling you, seek advice or comfort, or whatever you need here. Let this be your internet hideaway, your home away from home. Sit down, have some tea, and enjoy your time. I will never be inconvenienced by any of you, I’d never turn you away. 💚
I hope everything you come here seeking, you find, and i hope to meet you here again and again,
Yours truly, G
