Last sunset of March.
Beautiful ending.

Spent Easter by the shore again. Probably the longest sunset I’ve witnessed. Loved the filter the sun made. Didn’t even have to manipulate these photos.

Starting Anew
I STARTED A NEW YOUTUBE CHANNEL! (because the number of copyright claims on my previous channel was just…) I named it Chloe’s Chase in hopes that I could upload more videos of me chasing sunsets and sunrise. But ironically my first uploads were just random videos of me stuck indoors. As much as I wanted to post more videos of me outdoors, I was stuck inside my room for weeks because of Pneumonia.
Anywhoooo, I’ll be posting more travel videos soon! So, I’m excited about that.
But for now, you can scroll down to see some of my photographs from last week. Enjoy!

Mt. Sabrina
The last time I visited Mt. Sabrina, there was only one building on top of the hill. They had a restaurant overlooking the city and even at that state it was already beautiful. Years later I finally got to come back and roam around and see their improved facilities. I must say it looked great.
They had the pool in the middle of the resort surrounded by separate villas where you could check-in and stay overnight. We were able to stay at Doña Soledad which was a huge room with 4 King beds and an overlooking view of the General Santos City port area.
We had dinner at their restaurant which was on top of another hill from our room. It was a quite a hike to the restaurant for my aunts and uncles which had them panting when they reached the top of the hill. But I guess an exercise before eating was much needed after seeing how much food was prepared for us. In total I think there were 35-45 of us. It was a fiasco!
The rest of our clan stayed overnight and got to witness the beautiful sunrise the next day. As for me, I went home with my parents because I had work the next day. Hopefully, I’ll be coming back, and this time I’ll see the sunrise myself.

Last Days of Summer
the death of the sunflowers
We got to see the sunflowers at the Blooming Petals Inc. at Tupi, South Cotabato on the its dying breath. I’ve been wanting to go for weeks but since I was still sick I couldn’t go out.
The owners of the garden said that the sunflowers would be okay to visit until the 16th of June but because of the down pour over the last week the flowers were dying faster.
June 12, Sunday, we decided to go despite the drizzle and just check out the garden and take some photos. We had to walk for 8-10 mins. or so before we reached the sunflower garden because Dad decided not to drive in and get stuck in the traffic. There were soooo many people! And the flowers were not in their best condition. Still, Snap, snap we went.
We had fun nonetheless. We’ll be back on September for the next bloom. And this time we won’t wait for them to wilt.

Blue Lagoon (Lake Seloton)
I’ve been itching to visit a new place for weeks when I came across a post online about Lake Seloton’s magical view. I felt like I needed to check it out because one, I haven’t been to Lake Sebu EVER, and two, I wanted to see what the Sunrise Garden had to offer.
Initially I was planning to go with Leanne but 2 days before the trip her Dad said no. I didn’t lose hope. I still wanted to go and if only I could leave and commute alone, I would. The day before the trip I asked my cousins if they could come with me because I already made a reservation and luckily they were up for it. A little planning overnight then “Poof!” It became a road trip!
We got there by 4pm when it started to pour, hard. I was really upset. So much planning and excitement for 0 sunset?! I prayed relentlessly out loud that the rain would stop so I could take a semi-decent photo of the place before it gets dark. Then, slowly, the rain stopped and the sky cleared up.
I ran towards the lake and started shooting immediately. I’ve never felt so relieved and happy! Snap, snap, snap I went. At the end of the day, I might not have seen a fire like sunset but the lake turned into a beautiful blue lagoon which photographed quite nicely. After feeling satisfied with my shots I went back to bond with my cousins and we had such an epic time. We ate, swam, drank and even jammed with the live band at the resort. We had so much fun that we didn’t even struggle falling asleep. I stayed up for a while to prepare my stuff for the next morning’s shoot. And thankfully it didn’t rain and we got to see the sunrise. Photos are on the next post! So keep scrolling!

Sunrise at Lake Seloton
I woke up way too early for the sunrise. But I did not regret any second of it.
I had fun taking long exposure photos with my 50mm despite the struggle. Manually zooming with my feet is usally not a problem but I can’t really go in the water. So I was stuck right at the edge of the lake with my tripod. Being so careful not to tip the thing and watch my camera fall on the water.
By 5:30 the fishermen started to come out and paddle through the lake to check their nets and reel in their catch for the morning. While following them I noticed how their boats were actually just one piece of log, carved out from a single tree. I wanted to know more about their daily routine but all I was able to ask them was if their house were floating on the water or does it have a foundation underneath. Apparently they secured their houses on log posts that reach to the floor bed of the lake.
The resort served really good food. We ordered a boodle fight meal for dinner and everything tasted well. We devoured the entire platter. My cousins were surprised that nothing tasted bad. They have a tendency to expect the worst out of things and I guess that helps decrease disappointment in experiences Hahaha
After lunch we packed our stuff, settled our bill and headed home. Shoutout to my cousins and Kuya Vboy for taking me to Lake Sebu! Love ‘yall!

Salt Point at Maasim, South Cotabato
Whenever my family would want to go to the beach minus the crowd we head down to Salt Point. The resort is not very well known to the locals because it doesn’t have much signs or poster in the city but for me it’s the reason why I love it there.
They don’t have the best amenities but again it’s a quiet place to chill by the shore at. There’s a small hill you can climb to enjoy an overlooking view of the beach which I always go to. It’s steep but not that steep that one could fall off and die from. On top you get to enjoy a cooler breeze and a wider viewing area. A must visit spot for some emo photo shoot *insert inspiring quotes in caption*.
But as much as I want more people to know about this place, I don’t want to see the resort get crowded. So, I guess I’ll stop promoting now. Don’t come here! You could enjoy these photographs instead.
