when we moved to France (we are Turkish born) I found it weird that their idea of "limonade" was just... lemon soda. before that, I only knew it as squeezed lemon juice with some sugar added to soften the sour. the fact these were transparent (only trace amounts of lemon) and carbonated, felt like I was being lied to.

also fun fact: in Turkish, "soda" is the word for sparkling water; to ask for a soda, you must say "gazoz". I was confused about that for a while, too~

you are allowed to be interested in other people's scars or marks or tattoos or jewelry. I think it's okay to comment and ask the person whether they're disposed to tell you more. just respect their boundaries if they don't want to talk, especially since you are a stranger.

oh yea I forgot - do not under any circumstance (except necessary to save a life) seriously do NOT touch other people!

when I broke my ankle and it was in a cast for weeks, my father nudged me to approach other people wearing casts. they weren't even neighbors or anything, just passersby we were seeing for the first time. I guess he was thinking we'd be like, what, "cast bros" or "broken bone buds" or "recovering pals" or..? frankly I found the idea stupid, and though it was only a couple people, I am tired of his push to "come out of my shell".

People with significant scarring aren't obligated to cover up their bodies to make you feel comfortable, but also visible scars aren't an invitation to start asking invasive questions either. It's still none of your fucking business

Also, it took only 8 days because the governor used the immigration crisis to forgo the usual steps to do things properly. So they are absolutely able to skip regular procedure to speed up putting away people they don't like.

It's only "impossible" and "irresponsible" and a number of other negative qualifiers when it's time to serve the public.

Oh and let's not forget, they're making use of hostile wildlife and climate to punish "illegal immigrants" even further.
