Those involved in this month’s schedule may earn up to 5 points total for writing, by the end of April 10 KST:
A solo para of 400+ words based on their March schedule for the COLLA3ORATE project this month (3 points).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their March schedule for the COLLA3ORATE project this month (2 points).
These do not count toward monthly limits or toward normal schedule points.
CLASSIC:
All four idols (@fmdandy, @fmdinyeong) chosen for this song will be informed and sent the full demo of the song early in the month. They’ll also be sent a packet of information regarding Reebok’s campaign and the image intended for the song and music video — romantic and appealing to the teen and young adult demographic.
On March 15, all four idols will be called in to the Gold Star Media building for a concept meeting on the song release. They’ll be given further overview of the product line sponsoring the MV, as well as the song and MV concept. They’re also told that they’ll hold a special mini-concert together in May with, fittingly, the theme of “classic” where they’ll perform “Classic” and they’ll each get a solo stage of either a single of theirs or a cover song. They won’t be asked to choose their stage yet, but are told to start thinking about it.
On the evening of March 23, all four idols will arrive separately at the Gold Star Media building to record the track. Most of the preparations for the song will occur at the building since this is a collaboration between Gold Star and Reebok. The recording session will be filmed for behind the scenes material, so before they start to record, they’ll be filmed meeting and discussing the song for a short time with each other. Beforehand, the room will be set up so that it looks like the idols walk in while the idol who helped write and compose the song (@fmdminjung) is talking to the audio engineers so that she may participate in the conversation as well before making her exit.
They’ll then be introduced to the audio engineers, and the idols will go in to record in the follow order: vocal (wooyoung), vocal (park jinyoung), vocal (suzy), rapper (taecyeon). The parts have already been divided, so each idol will only need to sing their assigned parts and perhaps lay down some adlibs and backing vocal tracks.
That night, after the recording, all four idols will be driven by a manager in a van to visit a nearby Reebok store outside of normal operating hours, where @fmdminjung will join them. All five will be filmed checking out products in the store for more behind the scenes content, and each idol involved in the song will be permitted to choose up to 175,000 won (retail value) of Reebok products to take home.
CABI SONG:
All six idols (@jiwonfmd, @fmdminah, @durifmd, @fmdsan, @fmdjoosung) chosen for this song will be informed and sent the full demo of the song early in the month. They’ll also be sent a packet of information regarding Caribbean Bay’s campaign and the image intended for the song and music video — sexy and appealing to the young adult demographic.
On March 12, all six idols will be called in to the Gold Star Media building for a concept meeting on the song release. They’ll be given further overview of Caribbean Bay’s 2021 marketing as the sponsors of the MV, as well as the song and MV concept. They’re also told that they’ll hold a special mini-concert together in May with the theme of “hot summer” where they’ll perform “Cabi Song” and they’ll each get a solo stage of either a single of theirs or a cover song. They don’t have to choose their stage yet, but are told to start thinking about it.
On the morning of March 20, all six idols will arrive separately at the Gold Star Media building to record the track. Most of the preparations for the song will occur at the building since this is a collaboration between Gold Star and Caribbean Bay. The recording session will be filmed for behind the scenes material, so before they start to record, they’ll be filmed meeting and discussing the song for a short time with each other.
They’ll then be introduced to the audio engineers, and the idols will go in to record in the follow order: main or lead vocal (taeyeon), main or lead vocal (junsu/jun.k + chansung), vocal (jessica), vocal or rapper (nichkhun), vocal (tiffany & seohyun), rapper (taecyeon). The parts have already been divided, so each idol will only need to sing their assigned parts and perhaps lay down some adlibs and backing vocal tracks.

BASE MUSIC: COLLA3ORATE PROJECT SEASON 1.5
A year after idols first heard of the advent of the COLLA3ORATE project, word gets out among the three companies that base is once again looking for idols to come together to collaborate on music in project groups. This time, the focus is a bit different. In contrast to the previous COLLA3ORATE songs, which were promoted on music shows, base has decided to release a season “1.5″ of the project, which will include three total songs released sponsored by three different brands. These songs won’t be promoted on music shows but the artists on each COLLA3ORATE song will hold a mini-concert after the song’s release.
IN ‘VERSE INFO
In the final two weeks of February, idols who have either expressed interest in the opportunity to their managers or have been specifically picked by management for consideration will be sent details of the concept of each song and MV (but not a demo). Idols will be able to express their preferred concept to their managers but final decisions will be made by the department of artist and repertoire management responsible for arranging the project groups and their choices may not ultimately align with the idols’ preferences.
Shortly following, the song lineups will be confirmed with the chosen idols. As they near work for the project, they will be sent full-length demos of the song they will be recording and will also be made aware of the other idols they will be working with.
Further schedules for recording, practicing, and preparing the song will come at a later date.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
Note that these are not official sub-units and the songs will not get promotion. While it is also not a brand deal, since the MVs are each sponsored by/in collaboration with a particular brand, a muse cannot be the face of a competing brand or product of that which is sponsoring the song and MV.
In-character, it’s an opportunity for the three companies to profit off of combinations they couldn’t have otherwise, this time without having to provide the budget for the releases themselves since the brands will be fronting the bill this time around.
All singles will be released by the project group under the name of COLLA3ORATE. For this special project, the regular music claim waiting period rules do not apply and a mun is allowed to have a muse releasing another points claimed song in the same month. Though all songs will be officially credited under the name COLLA3ORATE, performers will be individually credited on most platforms as well, so performance involvement will be added to your muse’s Exclusive blog career page.
If you’re interested in having your muse participate in this opportunity, a form will be opened up at 12PM (noon) EST on February 28 to submit your muse for the project. For the initial submissions, muns may only be confirmed for one muse in one of the songs. After first round submissions are made and confirmed, a date will be announced where muns can submit for second and possibly third muses.
All songs will have a preparation period of two months in addition to the month of release. For instance, the May release will be worked on in March, April, and the beginning of May. During this preparation time, mini schedules will be posted for the idols collaborating on the specific song that the involved idols can earn points for writing about. Select days of the preparation process will be filmed to be uploaded on base Online, but most of the preparation will be off-camera.
Any charting will mirror the real life singles, as with all COLLA3ORATE projects.
Any further questions should be directed to the main’s ask box!
GUIDELINES
POSITIONS:
Each song must include an idol from at least two of the three companies and no more than two members of the same group can be on the same song. It will be designated on the song page if a song is no longer open to idols from a specific company or group.
CREATIVE CLAIMS:
For this opportunity, partial credits should be assumed to be approximately 50% credit or less in their respective area.
Musical creative claims are available on songs for the project, but only one muse per mun can claim creative credits on any song for this round. A muse cannot have creative claims on the song they are performing in and only one muse by the same mun may be involved in the same song in any way (be it performer or musical claims).
Since writers and producers are working from a brief this time instead of from scratch, songs are potentially open to creative claims by multiple muses, but only one muse per type of claim. (e.g. Muse A can claim partial lyrics and partial composition while Muse B claims partial production, but Muse A and Muse B cannot both claim partial lyrics).
In order to claim a creative credit, the muse must already have a creative credit points claim in the same area(s) on an already released points claimed song.
Creative claims must be made with points, meaning you must have the appropriate number of points available at the time of claiming. Writing verification is not an option for this project.
Since there are fewer spots this round than the first, when the forms open for the first time, you may only submit for a creative claim or for a performance position form. Once the second round is open, you may submit for each a performance or creative claim position for a second muse or the one you haven’t already submitted for for your first muse.
For idols claiming any musical creative credits (lyrics, composition, or production), the songs would have been submitted to their respective company by the end of January 2021 at latest. Unlike the first round, these songs would have been specifically requested with a concept brief including the brand the song will be sponsored by. They would be notified of that their song was selected for the project in mid-February.

BASE ONLINE: ONGOING CONTENT OPPORTUNITIES
Limitations: Open to all
Deadline: None, these tasks are indefinitely open to all muses at any time, though points can only be collected for each opportunity once per muse.
While base Online has been in existence since base’s advent, mainly uploaded behind the scenes content of base TV and base Music projects, base’s management decided to start focusing on getting more eyes on their online branch in 2021. A call has gone out to managers to get their idols more involved in the project by asking them to participate in creating a steady stream of content, both pre-filmed and live, for base Online.
IN ‘VERSE INFO
Idols under the three companies may at any time be directed by management to participate in creating one of the following video content types:
Pre-filmed Series
INTERVIEW (#fmdbaseonline1.1)
A vlog involving one idol interviewing another on their career, life, etc. in a professional tone. See here for an example of tone, though not in a podcast setting.
Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts. The interviewer is the only muse that collects points, so the interviewee must do a separate thread interviewing someone to collect points.
PRACTICAL JOKE (#fmdbaseonline1.2)
A vlog involving one idol doing a hidden camera prank or playing a practical joke on another idol. This can be a short, minor prank or a more elaborate one as long as it doesn’t provoke a reaction that is damaging to either idol’s image.
Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts. Both the muse pranking and the muse being pranked may collect points.
COVER (#fmdbaseonline1.3)
A video covering a solo or duet song of the muse’s choice filmed on a stage set (all muses will film on the same set) with some minor lighting design, basic set options, and the option of live accompaniment (example). This can be singing, rapping, dancing, and/or instrumental but should reflect a muse’s group positions/soloist focuses (if applicable). If you use a reference, please avoid covers released on streaming sites or to channels claimable on the points blog (ex. Studio Choom, Dingo, Muply) and be aware that reference will not be officially claimed (i.e. someone else can use the same reference).
Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts.
“TEN THINGS I CAN’T LIVE WITHOUT” (#fmdbaseonline1.4)
This is a video where the muse discusses ten items they can’t live without. Examples here and here.
Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words.
“"EVERYTHING I DO IN A DAY” (#fmdbaseonline1.5)
This is a video where the muse recounts the schedule of their “typical day”. Examples here and here.
Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words.
“CURATED PLAYLIST” (#fmdbaseonline1.6)
For this video, the muse will create a playlist of their choice of approximately one hour in length. They will then work with the production team to choose a location fitting the mood of the playlist that they will be filmed in as the playlist plays. The location should be fairly simple to access and film at without a large budget, and allow for the placement of stationary cameras. What the muse does during the filming should be simple, background types of activities that won’t distract the listener/watcher, such as taking photos, doing art, writing, eating, driving, reading, working out, cooking, etc. Examples here, here, and here (more examples on the same channel, but note that something like smoking for the video would not be allowed as idol image should be maintained).
Must be completed as a playlist of around one hour in length and a solo of 400+ words. The complete playlist can be included separate from the solo or the songs can be specified throughout the solo. Note: For purposes of this opportunity, the playlist is allowed to count repeat songs used in other playlists for the muse unlike normal playlists for points. A separate explanation of the playlist is not required.
Live Series
ADVICE LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.1)
A livestream giving advice to fans who send in situations and questions they need advice on.
Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts with a groupmate or with a muse with a face claim of the same presented/publicly assumed gender.
HOW-TO LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.2)
A livestream where one muse teaches another muse how to do something they know how to do well, but the other muse doesn’t. This can have either a comedic or serious tone.
Must be completed as a thread of at least eight posts.
CHOICE LIVE (#fmdbaseonline2.3)
A livestream with a format of the idol’s choice, as long as it’s kept appropriate (ex. playing a game, baking, on the spot cover requests, dancing, etc.)
Must be completed as a solo of 400+ words or a thread of at least eight posts with a groupmate or with a muse with a face claim of the same presented/publicly assumed gender.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
You may choose to complete or not complete these tasks whenever you’d you like! Each task/prompt/opportunity can only be completed once per muse for points. Writing for prompts should only be done if at least one muse in a thread has not collected points for the task previously to avoid an endless number of videos starring the same muse. This is meant to be specific prompts for a limited number of videos on for the base Online website over time not a substitute for a personal Youtube channel claim, where a muse has more freedom with type of content and quantity of content.
Lives can be assumed to happen whenever you date them from February 2021 onward. Pre-filmed content can be assumed to go up on base Online sometime from February 2021 onward, from two weeks to six months after it was filmed depending on the amount of tasks completed on one muse dated around the same time.
Keep in mind that all pre-filmed videos would be edited and all live videos would be supervised by management to avoid causing scandals.
Each thread completed for points should be with a different muse and these tasks cannot be completed through an open thread starter.
Please tag all threads and solos with the tag next to the matching prompt. They do not have to be completed in a specific order.
Any further questions should be directed to the main’s ask box!
POINTS AVAILABLE
Total available points: 18 points (Each prompt is worth two points. None of the prompts count toward monthly limits.)
+2 points: Interview thread. (1.1)
+2 points: Practical joke thread. (1.2)
+2 points: Cover solo or thread. (1.3)
+2 points: "10 Things I Can’t Live Without” solo. (1.4)

HOT TOPIC(K): EPISODES 6 & 7
Timeline: January 11, 2021
On-Set Filming Dates: January 11, 2021
Deadline: January 31, 11:59PM KST
Those involved in Hot Topic(k) this month may earn up to 6 points total for writing, by the end of January 31 KST:
Completions of the two interviews included in the in-character prompt. (1 point each, up to 2 points total)
A headcanon of 400+ words of your muse’s “lesson plan”* before going in to complete their mentoring gig. (2 points).
A solo para of 400+ words based on filming |OR| a thread with the mentor for the same skill of at least six posts. (2 points *points may only be collected for one or the other).
These do not count toward monthly limits or toward normal schedule points. All posts for this task block should be tagged with #fmdht2.
IN-’VERSE INFO
A week before they’re scheduled to film, the idols chosen are informed that they’ve been cast as mentors for the episode 6 & 7 block of the show. They’re informed of their filming time, the skill they’ve been chosen to give a workshop on, and the other idol that will be helping with the same skill. They will also be told the songs and arrangements the idols will be performing for their respective position evaluations. Dance mentors will also be given the choreography ahead of time to familiarize themselves with.
There will be five contestants performing each song.
Episodes 6 & 7 (Position Evaluations) - January 11
Vocals: @durifmd & @fmdnina (Songs: WISH’s “Downpour” & Femme Fatale’s “Playing With Fire”)
Dance: @fmddowoon & @fmdjoosung (Songs: “Get Ugly” & “Shape of You”)
Rap: @fmdhaon & @fmdjaewon (Songs: Alien’s ‘Rhythm Ta” & Unity’s “Boss”)
The mentors will arrive at the studio where the show is filming on January 11. The vocal mentors will coach in the morning, the dance mentors in the afternoon, and the rap mentors in the evening. The pair will be filming their mentoring at the same time, though they may mentor separately, together, or switch on and off as they see fit.
Before doing any other filming, the mentors are pulled aside for a short talking head interview as follows:
Which song do you consider to be the harder performance of the two?
If you were a contestant on the show, which song of the two would you have wanted to chose to perform?
What do you expect a pre-debut trainee to struggle most with for their position evaluation?
The pairs will mentor the first group listed for around an hour and then switch to the second group listed.
Once inside each room, they’ll introduce themselves and the members of the group they’re helping will introduce themselves to them (note: Muns of mentors may write interactions with NPCs in the groups to their liking, but please avoid writing detailed interactions with every single member of the group since some contestants may later not be NPCs).
The group will then show the mentors the current state of their performance. The mentors will be expected to give initial critiques and feedback on their performance before working more in-depth to help improve their performance over the course of the hour they have with each group. Though other performance elements may be in play in a performance other than the specific skill the position evaluation is for, the mentors are suggested to keep to advising on the specific skill they are there for.
At the end of their time mentoring, each mentor is asked to pick an MVP from the contestants based on what they’ve seen from the workshop. They may use their own criteria to pick this.
After they have completed their time mentoring, they will be asked to give one more talking head interview before leaving:
How do you feel your mentoring session went?
Did anything happen that threw you off of your original plans? Did you realize they were struggling with anything unexpected or did you add on any other tips in the moment?
Do you feel you’ve grown or learned anything from mentoring? Do you feel that vocals/dance/rap is in good hands with the next generation of idols?
The position mentors are also invited to come and be filmed watching the live performances for their specific position on filming for the final stages on January 15 to react to the stages. This is optional.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
Every mun who submitted for this casting should have at least one muse receiving a mentorship role, either during this filming or the last one. Most muns should have gotten their first choice muse in, but a few may have gotten a second or third choice muse in and not their first choice. This is simply because the first choice muse was submitted to fewer categories and/or only to more selective categories and has lower odds of being selected, while the second or third choice muse was submitted to more categories and/or less selective categories and had higher odds.
* = The “lesson plan” headcanon doesn’t have to take a specific format or resemble any kind of real lesson plan; it should just detail what your muse is anticipating having to teach and help with and what they did to prepare for mentoring.
Any questions can be directed to the main’s ask box!

HOT TOPIC(K): EPISODES 3, 4, & 5
Timeline: December 20, 2020 to December 22, 2020
On-Set Filming Dates: December 20 or December 22
Deadline: January 10, 11:59PM KST
Those involved in Hot Topic(k) this month may earn up to 6 points total for writing, by the end of January 10 KST:
Completions of the two interviews included in the in-character prompt. (1 point each, up to 2 points total)
A headcanon of 400+ words of your muse’s “lesson plan”* before going in to complete their mentoring gig. (2 points).
A solo para of 400+ words based on filming. (2 points).
These do not count toward monthly limits or toward normal schedule points. All posts for this task block should be tagged with #fmdht1.
IN-’VERSE INFO
A week before they’re scheduled to film, the idols chosen are informed that they’ve been cast as mentors for either the episode 3 & 4 block of the show or the episode 5 block. They’re informed of their filming time and date as well as the song they’ve be helping with or the topic they’ve been chosen to give a workshop on:
Episodes 3 &4 (Senior Artist Covers) - Filming December 20
@fmdyul (“The 7th Sense”)
@joohwanfmd (”Blood, Sweat, and Tears”)
@fmdxan (“Girls, Girls, Girls”)
@fmdhimchan (“Dramarama”)
The four mentors will arrive at the studio where the show is filming individually at different points through the day on December 20.
Before doing any other filming, the mentors are pulled aside for a short talking head interview as follows:
Do you remember when you released the song you’ll be mentoring the group on? What memories do you have of that era? What were your thoughts on the song when you first began working on it back then?
What are the most important points of performing the song you’ll be mentoring for?
What do you expect the show’s contestants to struggle most with with the song?
They’ll be given the number of the studio where the group they’re helping will be practicing and they’ll be filmed beginning from walking to the room and entering.
Once inside the room, they’ll introduce themselves and the members of the group they’re helping will introduce themselves to them (note: All four groups will consist of either five or six members. Muns of mentors may write interactions with NPCs in the groups to their liking, but please avoid writing detailed interactions with every single member of the group since some contestants will later not be NPCs).
The group will then show the mentor the current state of their performance. The mentor will be expected to give initial critiques and feedback on their performance before working more in-depth to help improve their performance over the course of two hours. The mentors are encouraged to focus on teaching the contestants how to “sell” the performance convincingly based on their own experience as the original artist of the song. They’ll be allowed to help with dance, vocals, and rap as they wish and may also chose other areas they find important to the particular song, such as stage presence, facial expressions, concept, etc.
Episode 5 (Idol Tips & Tricks) - Filming December 22
@charliefmd (Variety)
@fmdhyeju (Variety)
@fmdtaejin (Acting)
@fmdyena (Acting)
@junseofmd (Interacting with fans)
@fmdsiwoo (Interacting with international fans)
@fmdxyoungjoo (Leadership)
@fmdartemisia (Composing)
@fmdsooah (CF modeling)
@fmdjeonghwa (Stage presence)
Mentors for the idol tips and tricks section will arrive at different scheduled times throughout December 22.
Before doing any other filming, the mentors are pulled aside for a short talking head interview as follows:
What is the importance of your topic to being an idol and why should the contestants value your advice?
What are the most important points of the topic you’ll be mentoring on that you want to make sure the contestants learn?
What do you expect the show’s contestants to struggle most with?
No two idols will be teaching at the same time. The mentors will teach in a large gymnasium-like area and given free rein to use the area for their lesson. At this point, forty-two contestants will remain. Mentors who do not share their topic with anyone else will mentor all forty-two contestants. Mentors who do share their topic with someone else will mentor half of the contestants — twenty-one. They will have between one and two hours to do their workshop, and the format of it is up to the mentors themselves. It can be conducted solely as a lecture or it can be made hands-on and game-based or a mix of the two, though mentors should keep in mind that workshops with more entertainment value will get more screen time. Mentors are given freedom to critique as they wish and if props or other equipment are needed, the production staff should be informed beforehand so that it can be provided. (note: Muns of mentors may write interactions with NPC contestants to their liking, but please avoid writing about every single member of the group).
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
Every mun who submitted for this casting should have at least one muse receiving a mentorship role, either during this filming or the next one which will go up in January.
Topics for idol tips and tricks were picked from the ideas given on the casting forms to make sure there was a variety of topics and no more than two muses were covering the same thing.
* = The “lesson plan” headcanon doesn’t have to take a specific format or resemble any kind of real lesson plan; it should just detail what your muse is anticipating having to teach and help with and what they did to prepare for mentoring.

OUR SONGS: FINALE RESULTS
Timeline: December 12, 2020
On-Set Filming Dates: December 12, 2020
Deadline: N/A
There are no writing prompts in relation to this post, but feel free to write about the content of it, though the writing will count toward your monthly limits.
IN-’VERSE INFO
Following the completion of performances, everyone will have around two hours off-camera while the audience is instructed to vote and everything is prepared for the announcement of the winner. These votes will be calculated and combined with online track votes based on a weighted formula. During this time, any groupmates of the four finalists who came to the taping and any eliminated previous competitors will be approached by staff and asked to come off to the side of the stage instead of where they were originally seated. They are told that they’ll be asked to go on stage after the results are announced to congratulate the competitors. The competitors are brought back out. Choi Jihoon congratulates them all on coming so far and he goes through each competitor, from most senior to least (Taeyong → Joohwan → Suji → Jaewon) and does a brief verbal recounting of their time on the show before a video shows on the large screen at the back of the stage of each competitor’s best moments.
After this has concluded, Choi Jihoon announces that it’s time to share the results as he holds a blue envelope. He opens it and announces that he has the name of the top two competitors in front of him. He shares that the prize for the runner up is a few pieces of new studio equipment, courtesy of a show sponsor, and a special Studio M stage (example) on the first 2021 airing of MCountdown of their finale solo song. He also reminds everyone that the winner will receive ₩10,000,000 and all expenses covered for a special promotion period and official single release for their finale solo song.
Choi Jihoon reads off of the card within the opened envelope: “Here I have the top two finalists of Our Songs. Both of these songwriters have proven their abilities as artists to be respected. Both have shown versatility as creators and charisma as performers. They’ve shown themselves to be able to craft songs that can win over audience’s hearts both as live performances and as streamable tracks. The top two of Our Songs are... Suji and Jaewon!”
The audience is given time to cheer and Choi Jihoon once again congratulates all four competitors. Taeyong and Joohwan are asked to step down from the stage so that the attention can be centered on the top two.
The lighting changes and two spotlights center on Choi Jihoon and the final two.
“How are you both feeling?”
Suji and Jaewon are given the opportunity to answer into their microphones.
“You’ve both done well and you’ll both be going home with experience and a prize, but only one of you is the final winner of the show. The final winner of Our Songs is...” Choi Jihoon takes a long pause for suspense. “Suji!”
Confetti falls from the ceiling and a staff member comes on stage to hand Suji a trophy and she’s instructed to share some words with the audience. Following her words, all of the competitors are invited back on stage and all the groupmates and previously eliminated competitors are ushered onto the stage to share in the celebration as “I Go” plays and more confetti is released.
After onstage filming ends, the final four will all film final talking head segments backstage about their feelings.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
As with past rounds, the rankings for the third round were determined by random generation for spots among who completed the most tasks. Suji, Jaewon, and Joohwan had completed all tasks for the fourth block, so the top two rankings were decided between them by random picker. The winner was picked first, with the runner-up picked from the remaining two muses. Proof shots of the name picker can be found here.
The runner-up muse (Jaewon) will automatically have a special stage of their solo finale song added to their career page on the Exclusive blog. The mun of the winning muse (Suji) should contact the main with the preferred dates of the special promotion period. This cannot overlap with any group or other solo promotions, but the special promotion period will not factor into anything like waiting periods before/after other claims by the same muse or the ability to make a points claim in the same month. If either mun would like to forfeit their muse’s prize, please let the main know.

Before even premiering, Hot Topic (stylized as Hot Topic(k)) has the attention of idol fans across the nation. Though not explicitly part of base’s programming, some of base’s resources have been put toward the show as Gold Star is involved in the production and their CEO Bang Sunyoung will be serving as the show’s host. As a result, the show’s production team is working through base to cast mentors from the three companies for upcoming episodes of the program.
IN ‘VERSE INFO
For this opportunity, on November 30, idols under the three companies were informed of the offer to apply for casting to appear as a mentor on a new boy group survival show. They have been offered to apply for a spot as a mentor on select episodes: either episode three/four (senior artist covers), episode five (idol tips & tricks), or episodes six and seven (position evaluation).
The casting information is as follows:
Episodes three & four (Senior artist cover songs, filmed December): Up to four open mentor spots.
Requirements: Open only to boy group members, Dimensions Soloist 2, Gold Star Soloist 3, and/or Element’s main dancer/lead rapper + main rapper/lead dancer.

Requirements: None, open to all.
Description of role: Mentors will appear for a special workshop episode to teach and evaluate contestants about aspects of being an idol other than singing, dancing, and rapping, such as stage presence, maintaining their visuals, variety skills, modeling, songwriting, acting, fan interactions, etc.
Episode six & seven (Position evaluation, filmed January): Up to two rap mentor spots, two vocal mentor spots, and two dance mentor spots.
Requirements: Open only to main rappers, main vocals, main dancers, and soloists.
Description of role: Mentors will appear as experts in their area (rap, singing, or dancing) and help remaining contestants prepare for position evaluations in their area.
Muses will be required to apply for casting by December 10 in-’verse.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
This mini-event is only a short opportunity and not a long-term commitment as each muse will film only during one of two blocks, but those signing up their muses for consideration are still expected to be willing to use the opportunity to develop their muse and participate in the writing prompts.
If you’re interested in having your muse participate in this opportunity, there are two steps.
STEP ONE: If you are interested in your muse being a mentor for the show, please fill out this survey here out-of-character. This will be your official expression of interest for the opportunity but step two must also be completed in addition to step one order to officially enter your muse into consideration for being cast as a main cast member! You will have until Saturday, December 19, at 11:59PM KST to complete this step.
You may submit multiple muses for consideration to be cast in this Base event on separate forms, but muns will only have multiple muses cast if there are remaining open spots. Please indicate your muses’ order of casting priority if you submit more than one.
STEP TWO: Complete this form in-character and tag it with #fmdhtcasting. Please answer this as if your character is filling out the form to submit to production for casting. You will have until Saturday, December 19, at 11:59PM KST to complete this step. Muses may collect one point for doing this.
Note: For this show, step two can be completed without step one for the point if you do not wish for your muse to actually became a mentor, just make sure not to complete step one if that’s the case!
Any further questions should be directed to the main’s ask box!
GUIDELINES
CASTING:
If the number of muses interested in the opportunity exceeds the number of available mentor slots, final casting of muses as mentors will be done by random generator for fairness.

Completions of the two celebrity audience interviews filmed during the finale included here. (4 points total; both must be completed)
All posts for this task block should be tagged with #fmdos4.
IN-’VERSE INFO
Following the performances on November 7, everyone will have a little under an hour off-camera while the audience is instructed to vote for one song they liked the best. These votes will be calculated and combined with online track votes based on a weighted formula, and then the competitors are brought back out. They are first told the cast members that got the most votes in the live voting and the online voting as follows:
- Live audience vote: Jaewon (Wei) - Online vote: Joohwan (Aera)
The final rankings are then announced as follows to announce the safe competitors from third place to first:
3. Taeyong 2. Jaewon 1. Joohwan
Choi Jihoon congratulates the three safe competitors and dismisses them from the stage to bring the three remaining competitors on stage (Suji, Youngjoo, and Sun). The competitors currently on stage represent fourth place that will go onto the finale and the two competitors who will be eliminated and he reminds everyone of that. After building suspense, he announces that Suji has placed fourth and will be safe to go onto the next episode. This means Youngjoo and Sun have unfortunately been eliminated from the competition and the final overall ranking for the latest round is ultimately as follows:
1. Joohwan 2. Jaewon 3. Taeyong 4. Suji
On November 9, the remaining four idols will once again return to the “recording studio” set they first met at on their first day of filming. Competitors will once again be seated based on their rank (first place in seat one, second place in seat two, etc.). Basic pleasantries will be gone through on camera recounting the last round and reminding everyone of the rules and structure of the show before host Choi Jihoon will inform them of their third songwriting mission:
“The four of you sitting here with me represent the final four of the competition. You’ve been through three rounds of this now, showing your abilities to write to represent your own identity, to fit an assigned concept, and for someone else. For the final round, you’re free to write what you want to share with the world. There’s only one catch. You’ll be writing two songs for this round: one paired up with a fellow competitor and one solo song.”
Choi Jihoon then announces that first place and fourth place from last round must write and perform a duet together and the middle places must do the same. This means Joohwan and Suji have been partnered up, as have Jaewon and Taeyong.
Choi Jihoon then adds, “For your duet, you’re expected to embody both of your unique colors while finding a way to compromise and find a middle ground. For your solo song, you are expected to show whatever you want your final statement to the audience to be. For the first, and only, time during the run of the show, you’ll be releasing a music video for your solo song. Think about how you want the song to be represented, as you’ll be expected to talk with the directors and production team about how your song would best be expressed.”
The competitors are given time to react to the prompt before they are dismissed from the set. After this, each musician will film a talking head interview in a private room with a small team of cameras and producers where they are asked the following questions:
You’ve made the final four of the competition. Looking back on the competition so far and your performance, how do you feel about making it to the last round?
You’re required to work on a duet with one of the other competitors this round. What are your thoughts on who you’ve been paired with and how you think you’ll work together?
What are you current thoughts on what you want to do for your final solo song?
Which one of the other competitors do you see as your biggest competition for winner of the whole show?
From November 10 to November 23, all competitors are given time to work with their assigned partner on their duet song. They will be asked to do most of the work in one of the two competitors’ company studios so that they can be filmed on the stationary cameras set up, but both competitors will keep their self-cams as well. By November 24, the song should be fully produced, recorded, and mastered and submitted to the show’s production team.
On November 29, the final version of the duet songs will be released onto streaming sites and voting will open for online audiences.
From November 10 to November 30, all competitors are also given time to work on their solo song. As has been the case for the rest of the competition, there will be stationary cameras in their company studio and they’ll also be provided with a self-cam. All competitors will receive a visit from the host Choi Jihoon some time during the period of working on their solo song and he’ll talk to them one on one about their journey on the show, where they hope to go after it ends, what they’ve learned, and about their song. (admin note: This can be written out and muns are given permission to write Choi Jihoon’s actions and words as long as they are not major changes or departures from his established professional character. He should generally remain professional but personable as a normal competition show host. Things like deliberate rudeness, outbursts, or favoritism by him should be avoided, please! If you’re unsure whether something oversteps, please ask the admin.) A mostly complete draft of the song must be finished by November 23, as they will film the music video for their song as their schedule allows from November 24 to November 30. They are allowed to continue to fine tune the song during this time as the final mastered version is only due on December 1, but they won’t be allowed to make major changes that will clash with the music video.
All competitors will meet with a director some time before the filming of their music video to discuss the message, themes, and story line of their song in relation to a music video. While they will not be able to contribute extensively enough for any kind of credited production role on the project, such as coming up with the whole concept, creating a storyboard, contributing to filming or directing the MV, doing all of the styling, etc, they will get to discuss how they want to convey the song and will have power to veto the production crew’s ideas.
On December 6, the final version of the solo songs will be released onto streaming sites and the music videos will be uploaded to Youtube. Voting will open for online audiences.
On December 12, all competitors will go to same building as last round with with the same performance set, where their songs will be performed and voted on.
For the finale, each competitor will be given a certain number of tickets that will allow them to invite their group mates and celebrity friends to watch during the finale. Each company will also be given a certain number of tickets to allow additional artists in their rosters to attend for potential screen time. Idols attending as guests in the audience will not be given live audience voting privileges, but will be asked for their opinion on the performances in talking head interviews before and after the filming and possibly from the audience during the show.
The competitors will first perform their duets:
Joohwan & Suji - “Heart Stop”
Jaewon & Taeyong - “City Lights”
As each duo is performing, the other duo will be seated on stage watching. After one duo’s performance, the other will be asked to comment on the performance. Some members of the celebrity audience may also be asked for their opinions.
After the two performances, competitors will be given time to change and prepare for their solo stages as necessary. During this time, the audience will be asked to vote for with duet they preferred. After about an hour to an hour and a half, the solo performances will begin, which will be done in order by ranking from the last round:
Joohwan - “Love Me Harder”
Jaewon - “Jasmine”
Taeyong - “Nowhere”
Suji - “I Go”
For the solo performance round, the three competitors not currently performing will sit in the audience in the celebrity guest section instead of onstage. After each performance, the other three competitors will be asked for their thoughts, as will some of the celebrity guests in the audience.
Another break will be taken following the conclusion of all solo performances where each competitor will film another talking head interview (admin note: please wait to complete this interview until all songs have been chosen and listed above):
What was it like working with your partner on your duet? Do you feel you successfully showed both of your colors as performers and songwriters?
How does your solo song embody the final statement you decided you wanted to make as a competitor?
Do you have any regrets about either of your performances tonight? Do you have any regrets about your performance on the show as a whole?
How do you feel you’ve grown during your time competing on Our Songs?
Which of the other songs/performances caught your attention the most?
How will you feel if you win? How will you feel if you don’t?
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
As with past rounds, the rankings for the third round were determined by random generation for spots among who completed the most tasks. All main cast muses had completed all tasks for the third block, so the rankings were decided entirely by random picker. The only exception here is that the admin’s muse is not be eligible for the overall first place ranking. Proof shots of the name picker can be found here.
The winners for separate live voting and online voting were determined using weighted selection based on the randomly generated overall rankings. Rank one got six submissions into the generator, rank two got five, rank three got four, rank four got three, and the two eliminated muses got one submission each, and then names were drawn. Proof shots of the name picker for the live audience vote and online vote winners can be found at the link above.
For this task block you will need to submit two different forms, one for the duet and one for the solo. Please note that only one person from the duet has to submit a form, but everyone has to submit a form for their solo.
The following information will be requested for the duet: the song you would like to claim for your muses to create and perform for this round’s task as agreed upon between partners (and a performance reference if one is available) and the creative claims on it.
The following information will be requested for the solo: the song you would like to claim for your muses to create and perform for this round’s task (and a performance reference if one is available), the creative claims on it, and a link to the MV.
The form links will be uploaded here at 12AM KST November 14/10AM EDT November 13, twenty-four hours after this post goes up. The form for the duet song is here and the solo song form is here.
A reminder of the limits of creative claims on each muse for the show can be found here. If you think there is a mistake or if a song has been released that leads to a necessary update, please contact the main.
Songs Claimed:
WOODZ - Love Me Harder
Kei - I Go
Taemin - Heart Stop ft. Seulgi
DPR Live - Jasmine
TVXQ - City Lights ft. Taeyong (U-Know Yunho Solo)
Jung Jinwoo - Nowhere
SONG LIMITATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
There is no specified theme for this round other than to create a song in a pair and a final solo song. Please read the above prompt in the in-’verse info for full details on this round.
For all rounds, a song must fit all general rules of music claims (i.e. matches muse position, is not too explicit, must be by an artist in the Korean music industry, etc.) and must receive admin approval.
For this round, these are the additional limitations and requirements on songs that can be chosen:
Duet song
The song must involve two performing artists. The original song can have two artists equally credited, a solo with a feature, or a duo act, but it must have two performing artists.
In real life, the song must not be a title track according to Melon and cannot have an official MV. Special clips, live clips, and minimal production lyric videos are acceptable, but the song will have to be re-released on an album in the future to claim such videos as canon to the universe.
In real life, the song cannot have charted higher than a rank of 50 on Gaon’s Weekly Digital Chart at any point.
You may claim songs with choreography, but choreography creative claims are not available. As usual, songs with more emphasis on complex choreography should be reserved for muses with dance positions.
Both muses must have some kind of creative claims on the song.
Solo song
This song must be a solo song. This means it cannot be a collab or have a feature.
In real life, the song may be a title track according to Melon, but it doesn’t have to be. It must have an official MV. Special clips, live clips, and minimal production lyric videos do not count and the release of any different M/V versions beyond the main video will require the song to be re-released on an album in the future to claim such videos as canon to the universe.
In real life, the song cannot have charted with the top 100 on Gaon’s Weekly Digital Chart at any point.
You may claim songs with choreography, but choreography creative claims are not available. As usual, songs with more emphasis on complex choreography should be reserved for muses with dance positions.

IN-’VERSE INFO
After their trip around Korea last month, the pairs are informed shortly after their Chuseok filming that they’ll be going on either a two day-one night trip or a one day-two night trip out of the country with their partner for the first part of filming for the final two episodes. At the time, they’re told the city and the dates they’re scheduled to travel.
Assigned cities(/counties) and the dates the pairs will be visiting are as follows:
October 18-20 (one day, two nights): Knight’s Duri & Unity’s Jaeyeol - Hong Kong
October 20-21 (two days, one night): Lipstick’s Artemisia & Fuse’s Sooah - Seattle, USA
October 21-22 (two days, one night): Lipstick’s Ruby & Lucid’s Hyoyeon - Gold Coast, Australia
October 22-23 (two days, one night): Lipstick’s Minnie & Lucid’s Wei - Guam
October 25-27 (one day, two nights): Decipher’s Taejin & Knight’s Heesung - Hanoi, Vietnam
October 27-28 (two days, one night): Fuse’s Miyeon & WISH’s Rina - Chiang Mai, Thailand
October 29-30 (two days, one night): Fuse’s Minjung & Lucid’s Alice - Singapore
November 1-3 (one day, two nights): Alien’s San & Unity’s Ting - Taipei, Taiwan
(admin note: The date of filming should have been checked to work around all muses’ schedules with the consideration idols from the three companies do not attend music shows on Mondays, but if you notice any problems, please send in a message and the date will be fixed!)
The aim for this trip is to show how the pair have grown more comfortable together, from a full day in together to a small trip outside of the city to an out-of-country trip. Each member of the pair will be asked to write a letter to the other that they’ll exchange in the final hours of their trip.
Before the trip each member of the pair will be pulled aside to film a talking head interview:
Have you ever been to the city you’ll be visiting with your sibling before? If so, what do you remember it being like? If not, what do you expect it to be like?
You’ve been tasked with writing a letter to your sibling. Do you know what you want to say to them in it yet?
What is the top thing you want to do, eat, or see in the city you’ll be visiting?
Each pair will have relative freedom as to where they go and what they do during their short trip (as long as all activities are family friendly, image appropriate, within a reasonable budget, and reasonably able to be filmed) and a small crew will be sent with them to their location. They’ll stay in a hotel room together (with two beds) at their location for either one night or two nights depending on their assigned trip type. For two day, one night trips, pairs will arrive on the morning of the first date and depart in the evening of the second date. For one day, two night trips, pairs will arrive in the evening or night of the first date and leave early in the morning of the third date. The show will pay for necessities like transportation and food during the trip, but any souvenirs and the like will have to be bought with the cast member’s own money. Each cast member will be given a self-cam during this trip in addition to the camera crew that will go with them.
After all pairs have returned from their trip, the second part of the episodes will be filmed on November 9 at a large house outside of Seoul that has been rented out for the day for filming. This will be the final filming of this season of the show and it will another meeting of all of the siblings where everyone will show off the bond they’ve formed over the course of the show by competing in games against each other. These will consist of physical games like wheelbarrow races and pair volleyball as well as less physical games like charades and paired video games. Not all pairs will participate in all games, but all pairs must participate in a full-group sibling version of The Newlywed Game where the pairs are asked a question about one "sibling” and the other sibling must give the same answer their sibling gave to see how well they’ve come to know each other.
At the conclusion of their final day of filming, each member of the sibling pair will do their final talking head interviews:
Think about the first time you met your sibling. How has your relationship with them grown since then?
Do you feel you’ve gotten to know your sibling better over the course of the show?
Would you like to keep in touch with your sibling now that the show’s come to an end?
You’ve already exchanged letters with your sibling, but is there anything you’d like to tell them now for them to hear when they watch the finale of the show?

OUR SONGS: EPISODES 5 & 6
Timeline: October 10, 2020, to November 7, 2020
On-Set Filming Dates: October 10, November 7
Deadline: November 5, 11:59PM KST
Those involved in the main cast of Our Songs this month may earn up to 10 points total for writing, by the end of November 5 KST:
Completions of the two interviews included in the in-character prompt. (1 point each, up to 2 points total)
Up to two solo paras of 400+ words based on filming for episodes 5 & 6. (2 points each, up to 4 points total).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) with another muse in the main cast based on the Our Songs episodes 5 and 6 schedule. This must be with a different muse than the thread you collected points for last month. (2 points)
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) with the guest muse your muse is writing for for this round based on the Our Songs episodes 4 and 5 schedule. (2 points). **Note: This should be the first priority and points may only be collected for the exact requirement listed. That said, should you have trouble completing this by the deadline with the guest muse, this requirement also be passed only for the sake of elimination consideration (not points) if you complete a second thread with another muse from the main cast by the deadline.
Please remember the number of the above tasks completed by each muse will factor into eliminations during blocks with eliminations.
Those guesting on Our Songs this month may earn up to 6 points total for writing, by the end of November 5 KST:
Completions of these interviews. (1 point each, up to 2 points total)
A solo para of 400+ words based on filming for episodes 5 & 6. (2 points).
A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) with the muse your muse is paired with for Our Songs episodes 5 and 6 schedule. (2 points)
These do not count toward monthly limits or toward normal schedule points. All posts for this task block should be tagged with #fmdos3.
IN-’VERSE INFO
Following the performances on October 8, the competitors will go backstage to their dressing rooms for a little under an hour while the audience is instructed to vote for two songwriters whose performances they liked the best. These votes will be calculated and combined with online track votes based on a weighted formula, and then the competitors are brought back out. They are first told the cast members that got the most votes in the live voting and the online voting as follows:
- Live audience vote: Youngjoo - Online vote: Taeyong
The final rankings are announced as follows to announce the safe competitors from fifth place to second:
5. Suji 4. Taeyong 3. Joohwan 2. Sun
Choi Jihoon congratulates the four safe competitors and dismisses them from the stage to bring the four remaining on stage (Youngjoo, Kami, Eunah, and Jaewon). The competitors currently on stage represent first place, sixth place, and the two competitors who will be eliminated and he reminds everyone of that. After building suspense, he announces Youngjoo as this round’s winner and announces she’s won a prize: she’ll be invited to perform a solo set on one night of the Topaz Music Festival, a popular music festival held at the venue they performed at this round that will take place in November. The festival is normally for non-idol singer-songwriter types, and this will be the first time an idol has been invited to perform. (admin note: If the mun would like to officially confirm this claim as a prize, please submit this form to the points shop blog to have it added to her career page! The mun may decide the exact date for the festival around their muse’s schedule). She’s individually congratulated and then dismissed from the stage.
This leaves three competitors (Kami, Eunah, and Jaewon) and only one will be safe. After building the tension, it is announced that Jaewon has placed sixth and will be safe to go onto the next episode. This means Kami and Eunah have unfortunately been eliminated from the competition and the final overall ranking for the latest round is ultimately as follows:
1. Youngjoo 2. Sun 3. Joohwan 4. Taeyong 5. Suji 6. Jaewon
On October 10, the idols will once again return to the “recording studio” set they first met at on their first day of filming. Competitors will once again be seated based on their rank (first place in seat one, second place in seat two, etc.). Basic pleasantries will be gone through on camera recounting the last round and reminding everyone of the rules and structure of the show before host Choi Jihoon will inform them of their third songwriting mission:
“After the first and second round, you should all have an idea of who you yourself are as a songwriter and who the rest of the cast are as songwriters. You’ve seen their versatility and the areas they excel in the most, both as a performer and songwriter, but a truly gifted songwriter can work for others as well as they can work for themselves, For this round, you will all be asked to write for another idol who will be performing a song you wrote. No one will be able to get through on an established image or popularity alone this round, as the songwriter behind each song will be kept anonymous until everyone has cast their final vote at the live performances. There will be no additional requirements this round, so put your all into shaping a song fitting of the artist who will be performing your song this round.”
The competitors are given time to react to the prompt before they are dismissed from the main set to their green rooms. In their individual green rooms, they’re once again approached by a camera crew and given a form provided by production with basic information on the idol they’ll be writing for, although the exact identity of the idol is not revealed yet (admin note: please keep in mind muses shouldn’t really be able to narrow down exactly who they’re paired with from information on the forms since the form will be re-typed to remove the element of handwriting recognition and they are not informed the idols are limited to the three in-’verse companies). They’ll react to the information and be expected to talk about their first thoughts. After this, each musician will film a talking head interview in a private room with a small team of cameras and producers where they are asked the following questions:
How are you feeling about the ranking you received last round? How do you feel about it in comparison to your rank for the first round?
What are your thoughts on the song you’ll write this round based on the information you’ve been given about the idol you’ll be writing for?
How will you approach writing a song for someone else differently than you’ve approached writing songs for yourself for the first two rounds?
What are your thoughts on your other competitors at this point in the competition?
From October 10 to October 17, all competitors are given time to begin to work on a song or potential songs based on the information they’ve been given. They will be filmed both through the stationary cameras installed in the studio in their company buildings and will also be instructed to continue to use their self-cam to record their creative process as well.
The guest cast members will be made aware at this time of their role in the show: having a song written for them by an assigned cast member to record and perform. They will not yet be made aware of which main cast member they are partnered with and are asked not to discuss their guesting with anyone.
On October 18, all pairs will meet through either a filmed meeting at a coffee shop or through a filmed video call depending on what schedules allow. This meeting will be the reveal of their partner’s identity and during this meeting, the main cast member should be prepared to show the song they’ve been working on and discuss together with their partner about the song and any changes that may need to be made to fit the idol’s voice, style, or preferences. It is up to the main cast member how much they change to accommodate their partner, although they will not be allowed to completely redo the song at this point.
The main cast member will have from October 18 through October 27 to finalize the song and get vocals recorded from the other idol on the track. The pairs may meet up over the course of this time as they wish to work on recording and finalizing, although each meeting should be filmed.
There will be no “demo” presentation for this episode in front of the other competitors due to the nature of the task. Final mastered versions of all songs are due to the production team by the end of October 27.
On November 1, the final version of each competitor’s song will be released onto the base TV website and voting will open for online audiences. They will be uploaded onto streaming sites a week later so as not to reveal the writers’ identities.
On November 7, all competitors and all of the special guests will go to the regular building with the performance set from first episode, where their songs will be performed and voted on. As with last episode, minor set and prop elements are permitted, but they should be easy for the staff to get on and off the stage. The respective companies will be responsible for the styling and performance preparation of the performer.
Once filming begins, the competitors will be informed they will be performing in a randomly generated order in order to maintain anonymity of the writers. The audience is asked to vote more on how well-written a song is for the idol than how amazing the performance is since the songwriters are the ones being evaluated. The performing order is revealed to be:
Wei - “Pit-a-pet” (written by Jaewon)
Huiseon - “Baby Baby” (written by Sun)
Aera - “Diver” (written by Joohwan)
Duri - “Heaven” (written by Youngjoo)
Charlie - “Iljido” (written by Suji)
Minjung - “Girl, Interrupted” (written by Taeyong)
As each guest idol is performing, the six songwriters and all five other guest performers will sit backstage in their individual dressing rooms while their reactions are filmed. Since they are in private, songwriters may react appropriately to the song they wrote. At the conclusion of each stage, each competitor will be given time to talk about their thoughts on the performance and song. In the final airing of the episode, only some competitors’ comments will be aired per song.
During the break following all six song performances, each competitor will film another talking head interview (admin note: please wait to complete this interview until all songs have been chosen and listed above):
Talk about the song you wrote for this task. How do you feel it compares to the first two songs you wrote for the show?
How do you feel the idol you wrote for did in performing your song? In what ways do you feel the song benefited from not being performed by you?
Which of the other songs/performances caught your attention the most?
Which song do you expect got the most votes online and from the audience?
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
As usual, the rankings for the second round were determined by random generation for spots among who completed the most tasks. In this case, spots one through six were generated by those who had all tasks completed in the #fmdos2 tag on their muse’s blog by the deadline. Two muses did not complete all of the tasks, so they took the eliminated spots. The only exception here is that the admin’s muse will not be eligible for the overall first place ranking unless they are the only muse who completes the most number of tasks. Proof shots of the name picker can be found here (note: admin is in EDT, while the deadline was in KST, so the names were drawn after the deadline).
The winners for separate live voting and online voting were determined using weighted selection based on the randomly generated overall rankings. Rank one got eight submissions into the generator, rank two got seven, rank three got six, etc. and the two eliminated muses got one submission each, and then names were drawn. Proof shots of the name picker for the live audience vote and online vote winners can be found here. A proof shot of the randomizer for performance order this round can be found here. Pairs were made simply by pairing the order of the main cast by seniority directly with the guest cast submissions by order of submission from earliest to latest. Only one switch was made to ensure all muses would be writing for a muse with a skill set or song availability significantly different from their own.
For this task block you will need to submit the following information: the song you would like to claim for your muse to create for this round’s task (and a performance reference if one is available and agreed upon with the performing muse) and the creative claims on it. Please note that the song choice should ultimately be the decision of the mun of the main cast member. Muns may discuss what the performing muse is comfortable with, but the song choice should be based on what the muse would write with the information presented to them and not what the performing muse would necessarily want written for them.
The form link will be uploaded here at 12AM KST October 10/11AM EDT October 9, twenty-four hours after this post goes up. The form link can be found here. A reminder of the limits of creative claims on each muse for the show can be found here. If you think there is a mistake or if a song is released that leads to a necessary update, please contact the main.
Songs Claimed:
Heaven - Gaho
Iljido - Moonbyul
Girl, Interrupted - Miso (prod. 2xxx!)
Pit-a-pet - Yukika
Baby Baby - Suran
Diver - YooA
SONG LIMITATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
The simplified theme for this round is “Written By, Not For”. Please read the prompt in the in-’verse info for full details on what this means.
For all rounds, a song must fit all general rules of music claims (i.e. matches muse position, is not too explicit, must be by an artist in the Korean music industry, etc.) and must receive admin approval.
For this round, these are the additional limitations and requirements on songs that can be chosen:
The song must be solo. This means it cannot be a collab or have a feature.
The song must be performed by the muse assigned by the show and the muse performing cannot have creative claims on a song.
In real life, the song must not be a title track according to Melon and cannot have an official MV. Special clips, live clips, and minimal production lyric videos are acceptable, but the song will have to be re-released on an album in the future to claim such videos as canon to the universe.
In real life, the song cannot have charted higher than a rank of 75 on Gaon’s Weekly Digital Chart at any point.
You may claim songs with choreography, but choreography creative claims are not available. As usual, songs with more emphasis on complex choreography should be reserved for muses with dance positions.

Casting Type: Guests on a competition show
Filming Duration: October to November 2020
Limitations: Not open to muns with a muse participating in Our Songs already.
Deadline: October 7, 11:59PM KST
At the end of September, a handful of idols under all three companies are informed about a special casting opportunity to appear on two upcoming episodes of Our Songs. They aren’t told much about what the guesting will entail except that, if cast, they will be expected to participate in recording music and giving a live performance. They are also asked not to discuss this casting opportunity with anyone who is currently competing on the show.
If an idol is interested, they may submit a cast form for the program.
IN ‘VERSE INFO
If an idol choose to submit a casting form, they are asked to fill out the following form and pass it on to their manager to submit to the casting team by October 1 in-’verse:
Legal name:
Stage name (if applicable):
Position (ex. main vocal, main rapper, vocal soloist):
Solo music release history (leave blank if none):
What are your favorite genres of music?:
What are themes you are interesting singing/rapping about in your music?:
How would you describe your voice (tone, abilities, strengths, weaknesses)?:
What singers/rappers do you look up to (does not have to be Korean)?:
What is your current favorite song?:
Casting will be confirmed at a later date.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
This is a special casting opportunity for muses to make a guest appearance in episodes 5 and 6 of Our Songs. If cast, muses will participate in the block and be given a task or two to write during the month-long block for points. The guesting will be added to their career page and they will ultimately have a song released to their name as a performer.
This casting opportunity is not open to the muses of muns who already have a muse in the main cast of Our Songs. All other muns may have their muse apply for casting and a mun may submit multiple muses if they wish and feel they would be able to participate if cast on multiple muses, although it is unlikely more than one muse from the same mun will be cast unless fewer than six unique muns submit a muse for consideration.
Muses for the guesting do not have to have any experience or interest in songwriting or producing.
If you’re interested in having your muse participate in this opportunity, please fill out the above form in-character and post it in the #fmdoscasting tag by Wednesday, October 7 at 11:59PM KST.
Muses may collect one point for doing this. Completing the form will enter your muse into consideration for casting, so please do not fill out the form for the point if you do not want your muse considered.
GUIDELINES
CASTING:
Six muses will be cast for this special opportunity. Casting will be semi-random. Submissions will not be judged on quantity or quality of writing as long as all sections are filled out, but certain types of muses may be needed in a larger quantity than others (ex. more male rappers may be needed than female vocals or vice-versa, a diversity of answers between cast muses may be wanted, etc.)
ELIMINATIONS:
As this is a short-term casting opportunity, the guests themselves will not be up for elimination at any point, but please be aware your muse may participate in parts of the competition that are judged for the ranking and elimination of main cast members.
CASTING WILL RESULT IN:
- Points opportunities for the task block. - A two-episode guesting on Our Songs. - Involvement as a performer in a song release (more details will be given upon casting).

IN-’VERSE INFO
Before filming begins this month, the cast members are informed that the show has teamed up with the Korea Tourism Organization to sponsor the next two episodes of the show and each pair will be going to a city in one of the nine provinces of South Korea to spend a day on a “family trip” with an itinery completely created by the pair themselves. They are given at least a few days to research their assigned city if needed to find places they might want to visit before they are expected to make their itinerary. Assigned cities(/counties) and the dates the pairs will be visiting are as follows:
Sep. 11: Knight’s Hyuk & Unity’s Ting - Jeonju (Jeollabuk Province)
Sep. 12: Alien’s San & Impulse’s Haechan - Suwon (Gyeonggi Province)
Sep. 14: Lipstick’s Artemisia & Fuse’s Sooah - Danyang County (Chungcheongbuk Province)
Sep. 14: Knight’s Duri & Unity’s Jaeyeol - Cheonan (Chungcheongnam Province)
Sep. 18: Decipher’s Taejin & Knight’s Heesung - Gyeongju (Gyeongsangbuk Province)
Sep. 19: Lipstick’s Minnie & Lucid’s Suwei - Changwon (Gyeongsangnam Province)
Sep. 20: Lipstick’s Ruby & Lucid’s Hyoyeon - Seogwipo (Jeju Province)
Sep. 21: Fuse’s Minjung & Lucid’s Alice - Sokcho (Gangwon Province)
Sep. 21: Fuse’s Miyeon & WISH’s Rina - Yeosu (Jellanam Province)
(admin note: The date of filming should have been checked to work around all muses’ schedules with the consideration idols from the three companies do not attend music shows on Mondays, but if you notice any problems, please send in a message and the date will be fixed!)
Each pair is assigned one tourist spot in or near their assigned city/county that they must visit during their day trip to fulfill the sponsorship with the Korea Tourism Organization, but the rest of the day’s activities will be completely decided and agreed on by the pair themselves during a day of filming taking place before their trip (admin note: the exact date can be decided based on muse schedules) where they will meet in a room at the company building of the younger of the pair. They will be given an hour or two to film themselves planning out and agreeing on an itinerary together. They’re free to do as they please with the obvious limitations of all activities needing to be family friendly, image appropriate, within a reasonable budget, and reasonably able to be filmed. If they’d like to take a food tour of the city, they may do so. If they want to spend all day in the city’s animal shelters except for when they must visit their required location, they’re also welcome to do that. (admin note: A list of possible hot tourist spots in each city/county is linked above to help start out research into specific locations, but muses are also welcome to visit general locations that can be found in most every city like restaurants, shopping, movie theaters, etc. if that’s what they jointly prefer!) The required tourist spots to visit for each pair are as follows:
Knight’s Hyuk & Unity’s Ting - Jaman Mural Village (Jeonju)
Knight’s Woo & Alien’s San - Samsung Innovation Museum (Suwon)
Lipstick’s Artemisia & Fuse’s Sooah - Mancheonha Skywalk & Zipline (Danyang County)
Knight’s Duri & Unity’s Jaeyeol - Arario Art Gallery Cheonan (Cheonan)
Decipher’s Taejin & Knight’s Heesung - Gyeongju World Amusement Park (Gyeongju)
Lipstick’s Minnie & Lucid’s Suwei - Chandong Art Village (Changwon)
Lipstick’s Ruby & Lucid’s Hyoyeon - Seogwipo Daily Olle Market (Jeju)
Fuse’s Minjung & Lucid’s Alice - Seoraksan National Park (Sokcho)
Fuse’s Miyeon & WISH’s Rina - Yeosu Expo Ocean Park & Hanhwa Aqua Planet (Yeosu)
Before their planning meeting, each member of the pair will be pulled aside to film a talking head interview:
What kinds of places do you want to visit in the city/county you’ve been assigned?
Are you the type of person who prefers day trips around a city, or is a night in like last filming more comfortable for you?
If you could go anywhere in the world outside of Korea with your sibling, where would you want to go?
Following the planning meeting, at least a few days later, the pairs will go on their trip as they have planned (on the dates listed above). Each pair will have a camera crew and a few producers present during their trip. Production will have already cleared filming at any location they planned and any necessary tickets or equipment for activities planned will have already been bought.
At the conclusion of their day trip filming, they’ll do separate talking head interviews before leaving:
Did you learn anything new about your sibling today? If so, what did you learn? If not, what would you like to learn about them?
What was the most memorable part of the day you spent with your sibling?
Is there anything you didn’t get to do that you might want to come back and do with your sibling off-camera some time? Was there anything you did do that you’d want to come back and visit/do again some other time?
You’ll need to buy your sibling a gift before the next time you meet at the full cast dinner. What do you think you’ll get them?
On September 29, all nine pairs will come together for a joint day of filming at a large apartment rented out by management where they will have an early pre-Chuseok gathering. Anyone who has other group mates on the show is encouraged to introduce their group mates to their sibling, and, in general, everyone is encouraged to socialize and come together for what will be used as a heartwarming ending scene to the fourth episode. At the end of the dinner, the sibling pairs will exchange gifts with each other.
