charlie’s interview for the casting of our songs guesting A Thing™ I did because I thought it would be fun and I would like for her to have the experience. The questions also helped me solidify my headcanons for her skills a bit.
Legal name: Choi Sungyeon
Stage name: Charlie
Sex: Female
Position: Main dancer, main rapper, sub vocal
Solo music release history: None sadly
What are you favorite genres of music?:
“I think I mostly listen to R&B, hip hop and pop music just because those are the types of music I grew up with. Generally I enjoy music with a more mid to upbeat tempo, although slower and more acoustic songs are nice every once in a while. I guess I’m always in the mood for a tune to dance to really. I also gravitate towards any music with a really good bassline.”
What are themes you are interesting singing/rapping about in your music?:
“I’d say that I’m interested in most things. I don’t wanna limit myself to just one theme, but I guess now that I think about it, when I write I do write about the things I’ve experienced myself or things I’ve heard from others. I take inspiration from just everyday life - all the little things people might take for granted.”
How would you describe your voice?:
“I keep getting comments about how my voice is so low “for a girl” and it used to make me feel insecure, but nowadays it’s just another strength of mine. I’m not a main or lead vocalist but I can hold a tune although my higher register is considerably weaker than my lower. As for my tone when rapping, I don’t do anything differently with it unless I’m told to adjust for certain songs. In a way, that makes me rather adaptable as is my flow.”
What singers/rappers do you look up to?:
“I really like artists that are clearly doing their own thing and that don’t give a damn about what others think. Lady Gaga and Rihanna are such people that really stand out to me.”
What is your current favorite song?:
“I’ve been listening to a song called Dancing in the Moonlight recently. There’s a lot of covers and different versions of the song, and only recently did I find out the original artist so I’ve just had all the different versions on shuffle these days. It’s a really cute and fun song.”

famed our songs casting.
summary: the audition questionnaire and answers. warnings: none
basics
legal name: seo minjung stage name: minjung sex: female position: lead vocal, rapper solo music release history: here
what are you favorite genres of music
“i like a lot of different genres, and have affairs with different ones frequently. i like the singer songwriter indie artist that isn’t afraid to touch a little synth inside their vocals. i like the rapper who isn’t afraid to dive into the realm of emo-rap. i appreciate the unexpected juxtapositions of music, and it’s these eccentric mixes that tend to be my favorite. so, indie, hip hop, alternative. mash that into one, even add ballads to that — you get my favorite genres.”
what are themes you are interesting singing/rapping about in your music?
“i’m a sellout. i write about love — falling in love, and falling in out. never the in-between. there stands a polarity inside my work, and the things that come out are the experiences that etch themselves into my heart never once to be forgotten. you can call me a sentimentalist since that’s all i ever sing and write about.”
how would you describe your voice (tone, abilities, strengths, weaknesses)?
“i don’t have a crazy range that can hit the E’s and F’s. often times it gets strung and stretched out so thin that i’m told it hurts the ears. instead, i can only belt one note high before it fall s and shatters back into baseline — that’s a weakness. i’m a high tone singer, you can hear my voice pop and immediately pick up where i start and stop — is that a weakness or a strength? look, i have a singing voice i use when i want to sing. it’s scratchy, unique and raw. then, you have another voice that gold star gives me — i sing high, upbeat like any other idol singer. maybe that’s why i’ve been pushed into two opposite directions. you have seo minjung the artist who likes to experiment with her work, and the seo minjung the ballader that sells her soul to the devil. pick and choose which one comes out and maybe it’ll help.”
what singers/rappers do you look up to (does not have to be Korean)?
“lil peep, kim ximya. i like travis scott more than asap — i love cardi. sunwoojunga, nafla. damien rice. i look up to these people who have their distinct sounds, not afraid to reach outside of their comfort zone. the people i look up to don’t necessarily inspire my music, but more so just become easy listening on times where i just don’t want to do anything.”
what is your current favorite song?
“liability by lorde, youth by dasutt or fivio foreign’s wetty.”

OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
This is a special casting opportunity for muses to make a guest appearance in episodes 5 and 6 of Our Songs. If cast, muses will participate in the block and be given a task or two to write during the month-long block for points. The guesting will be added to their career page and they will ultimately have a song released to their name as a performer.
This casting opportunity is not open to the muses of muns who already have a muse in the main cast of Our Songs. All other muns may have their muse apply for casting and a mun may submit multiple muses if they wish and feel they would be able to participate if cast on multiple muses, although it is unlikely more than one muse from the same mun will be cast unless fewer than six unique muns submit a muse for consideration.
Muses for the guesting do not have to have any experience or interest in songwriting or producing.
If you’re interested in having your muse participate in this opportunity, please fill out the above form in-character and post it in the #fmdoscasting tag by Wednesday, October 7 at 11:59PM KST.
Muses may collect one point for doing this. Completing the form will enter your muse into consideration for casting, so please do not fill out the form for the point if you do not want your muse considered.
GUIDELINES
CASTING:
Six muses will be cast for this special opportunity. Casting will be semi-random. Submissions will not be judged on quantity or quality of writing as long as all sections are filled out, but certain types of muses may be needed in a larger quantity than others (ex. more male rappers may be needed than female vocals or vice-versa, a diversity of answers between cast muses may be wanted, etc.)
ELIMINATIONS:
As this is a short-term casting opportunity, the guests themselves will not be up for elimination at any point, but please be aware your muse may participate in parts of the competition that are judged for the ranking and elimination of main cast members.
CASTING WILL RESULT IN:
- Points opportunities for the task block. - A two-episode guesting on Our Songs. - Involvement as a performer in a song release (more details will be given upon casting).
