truth be told, duri was rather excited to do the base online live. surprisingly, it was something that he didn’t do - mainly due to the fact that he always had some many schedules, so the staff could never fit him in with another idol that would have the same schedule as him. but, this time, he got a bit lucky, and he was finally able to do it. this time, with a friend that he looks up to, the main vocalist of selene, yujin. she was someone that he didn’t get to talk to as often, considering their schedules didn’t match up as often, besides for a base online opportunity, it had seemed. but, he was still very excited.

he had come onto the area that was set up for the two of them for the how-to live that they would be doing today. duri usually wasn’t nervous, but he was slightly nervous about teaching something he didn’t fully teach before. in this case, he was going to be teaching yujin about how to build something. he’s always been handy in a sense, but it really come to fruition before and during little forest when he learnt how to design and build something from a teaching. it led him to building a suspension bridge and treehouse during the variety show as well. 

though, today he was going on a much smaller scale and teaching how to build a birdhouse, something that he’s done before for the front garden of his home. nonetheless, he stood in his spot, playing around with the tools that were arranged, and the safety goggles that were now on his head. though, he notices yujin approaching, and he bows towards the other. “hi sunbae!” he greets with his usual, big warm smile. “are you ready for today?”

had hugging anyone ever felt so devastating before? he could feel the warmth pulsing off of yujin’s body and mingling with his own. it was warm, it was, so... why did he still feel cold? unsticking an arm from her back to wrap it tighter, hand coming up to her shoulder, he nuzzled his head deeper into the crook of her neck.

thoughts ran in circles. constant worrying that this might be the last opportunity they would have to cuddle, and yet he was spending it gripping her like she might fly away and on the edge of tears that hadn’t seemed to stop at all the last month. he’d thought to joke, to admit aloud that this wasn’t their usual cuddle style. it didn’t feel appropriate; yujin must know already.

this year was supposed to be a celebration for him and yujin after all. ten years of friendship. a decade of their lives, dedicated to intimately forming the silken webs tying them together, into the massive, intricate picture it had come to be. sung wanted nothing more than to laugh with yujin over a plate of shared fries, and arguing which of them would fall on their butt first in the rain.

if he could will himself a time machine, he might have gone back.

barely audible, muffled in his tucked in space, only enough for the words to be for them, not a single soul else, sung found his voice, “you did a good job today. i’m proud of you.”

“This is very unfair, I feel like everything will look good on you, so I have barely any basis to choose my present,” Sooah says with a pout, and she puts the dress back in the clothes rack and roams around more to find something more suitable. For some reason, still unknown to her, Yujin agreed to come along with her for a few quick gifts shopping, and Sooah was beyond excited because this is not usually something she does. More often than not she looks for things like this online since she usually doesn’t have the time to go out properly shopping.

This year, however, Fuse didn’t have much going on, and there was just so much practicing for their concert they could do until she started feeling too stressed to be productive, hence the Christmas shopping. “Is there anything you want to get this Christmas, unnie? Something you’ve been waiting the whole year to get?”

the invitation to be part of the project had filled sophie with excitement. she knew it was an ongoing thing, a series of releases by the three big companies that would involve several idols so she wasn’t special per se, not to mention there was very little chance for this project to be successful. still, it was fun being able to get out of the usual schedules, to record and perform with different people. that excitement combined with her need to please people and make every person in the room love her has sophie being one of the first to arrive for the recording session. her manager comes with but leaves to speak to the crew and staff while sophie greets the rest of the members as well as the people they’d be working with. the sight of the older woman has the smile on her face faltering but sophie reminds herself to remain polite with a bow of her head – she might be a senior but yujin is still older. “ hello, how are you? ”

“ I think the answer that is expected of me here is stringing @fmdyujin and @fmdsojung along but does it matter that I didn’t realize I was doing that? Oh, I do wish I hadn’t paid for my brother’s studies after what he did to our parents. ”

After a couple of crazy rides, Candy thought it would be nice to take things slowly for now. To calm the adrenaline rush she got from riding some extreme rides. She didn't have to worry about having to hold the camera this time or be an extra for someone. That was all done and now that they can have some real fun on their own, Candy wanted to try as many things as she possibly could as she doesn't get a lot of chances to go to amusement parks. She can just have fun on her own now as much as she wants.

Spotting a familiar face, she beckons her to come closer to her. It would be nice to have some company on this ride. She didn't want to be alone. “Yujin-ah, come. Look at that.” Candy then points the balloon ride that gives people a good look around the indoor park. “Wanna go on a trip with me?” She asks, looking up at the ride that can take them across and back to the beginning. It would be a nice and calming journey. “I doubt it would be as great as the ones they offer in Turkey or in New Zealand, but I think this will be great. What do you say?”

eunah exists in a state of perpetual melancholy, walking around in a FOG most days, living more in her own head than in the real world         not the best way to be in the middle of the hustle  &  bustle of an amusement park. filming wraps up for the day all too quickly, and eunah is  OVERWHELMED  by all the sights  &  sounds around her, so she gently excuses herself from the rest of her members, who are used to this flighty behaviour by now. she wonders when exactly they gave up on her. 

and, now, picked up by element’s bae yujin, she wonders when she’ll give up on her too. but she doesn’t let her mind rest on that too long, instead focusing on her afternoon breakfast smoothie. she’s thinking about 7rophy’s upcoming comeback         a week away, but says nothing about it. who knows when element’s next comeback will be?

“Not at all. I love being a soloist, I love having my solidarity and being by myself. I like the fact that when I listen to a track from my discography, that it’s me and no one else, unless I decide to have someone feature on it. I don’t have to run anything by anyone, I can choose where I want to eat without people protesting. It’s great, really.”

“I really don’t want to be in a group, never have, but if I had to choose.. BEE’s main vocal, Silhouette’s main vocal, Gold Star Soloist 2, and Aria’s main vocal. We would be a vocal based group.”

“i think we’re fine until we receive less promotion. we can’t last forever, but so long as we’re allowed to grow with our audience’s tastes and don’t become too stagnant, we’ll be fine for another few years here. once younger girls start debuting, though, we’ll be more at risk, i’m sure.” 

“i would kill to do something smoother, less pop than wish or the other solo releases from the members. maybe find a niche in city pop? i’m not sure exactly. i don’t know how long i’ll stay in music, as well. i’d like to expand outside of that and find what i’m truly good at.”

COLLA3ORATE PROJECT: JUNE

Note: This month, only those involved in “Drip”, “Quit Playing”, “Oh! My Mistake”, and “SOSO” will be working on their songs in preparation for their June and July releases.

Those involved in this month’s schedule may earn up to 5 points total for writing, by the end of July 15 KST (for each song schedule they are a part of):

A solo para of 400+ words based on their June schedule for the COLLA3ORATE project this month (3 points).

A thread of six posts (three per participant, including the starter) based on their June schedule for the COLLA3ORATE project this month (2 points).

These do not count toward monthly limits or toward normal schedule points.

DRIP:

For the beginning of the month, the members of the song (@fmdchaesoo, @fmdjynx, @fmdxlux, @fmdxyoungjoo) will continue to have sparse rehearsals together up until the release of their song on June 7.

On June 9, the members will attend The Show for their first special promotional stage. The  members will all go to the salon together early in the day before arriving at the SBS studio. They will be granted a waiting room of their own up until they pre-record their stage a few hours before broadcast time. They will not stay around for the live broadcast of the show (unless they have other schedule reasons to do so).

The members will repeat this schedule for all music shows on the 10-14 as well.

During their promotions, each idol will also be guided to take a number of selfies that will be chosen from by staff as photo cards for the physical mini-album for the COLLA3ORATE project.

End note: This month, no part of their schedule (other than music show stage filming) will have cameras present

QUIT PLAYING:

For the beginning of the month, the members of the song (@fmdsamsoo, @fmdtaeyong, @fmdhyunsoo, @fmdsan, @fmdjoosung) will continue to have sparse rehearsals together up until the release of their song on June 29.

On June 13, all idols performing in the song will arrive on the first set (the warehouse set) to shoot the music video for “Quit Playing”. All dance scenes (partner and group) and close up solo shots will be done this day before everyone is sent home. On June 14, members with individual acting scenes will shoot their club scenes at a club in Gangnam the morning (@fmdjoosung, @fmdtaeyong) before going to shoot further scenes on-location that afternoon.

On June 30, the members will attend The Show for their first special promotional stage. The members will all go to the salon together early in the day before arriving at the MBC studio. They will be granted a waiting room of their own up until they pre-record their stage a few hours before broadcast time. They will not stay around for the live broadcast of the show (unless they have other schedule reasons to do so).

The members will repeat this schedule for all music shows on July 1-6 as well. During their promotions, each idol will also be guided to take a number of selfies that will be chosen from by staff as photo cards for the physical mini-album for the COLLA3ORATE project.

OH! MY MISTAKE:

On June 7, all idols (@fmdsophie, @fmdsooah, @fmdyena, @eunahfmd, @fmdyujin) chosen will be scheduled to be picked up in a Gold Star Media van from their dorm or private residence to be driven to the Gold Star Media building. Once there, they will begin to learn the choreography for the song they recorded last month. They will learn from one of Gold Star Media’s dance instructors. The idols will meet a few times throughout the month to practice together under the same circumstances of being chauffeured to the Gold Star Media building together, but are expected to also practice on their personal time.

On the same day, they will be introduced to a woman named Lee Miran who will serve as their project group manager for this month and the next as they approach promotions. She will be with them for all schedules from this point onward unless specified otherwise.

On June 15, the project group members will be escorted to a shop in Gangnam where they will undergo fittings for the outfits they will wear in the music video and during stage performances of the song.

On June 28, the members will arrive at an indoor set to film the music video for the song.

End note: This month, behind the scenes content at the music video shoots will be filmed for an M/V filming video. No other part of their schedule will have cameras present.

SOSO:

On June 10, all idols (@durifmd, @fmdhanjae, @fmdmaverick) chosen will be scheduled to be picked up in a Gold Star media van from their dorm or private residence to be driven to the Gold Star Media building. Once there, they will begin to learn the full original choreography for the song they recorded last month. They will learn from one of Gold Star Media’s dance instructors and one of the choreographers (@fmdkami) will be present for roughly a half an hour to give pointers on the parts of the dance they helped with. They will meet a few times throughout the month to practice together under the same circumstances of being chauffeured to the Gold Star Media building together, but are expected to also practice on their personal time.

On the same day, they will be introduced to a man named Min Hoyoung who will serve as their project group manager for this month and the next as they approach promotions. He will be with them for all schedules from this point onward unless specified otherwise.

On June 24, the project group members will be escorted to a shop in Gangnam where they will undergo fittings for the outfits they will wear in the music video and during stage performances of the song.

it was inevitable that at some point during this trip, their group would split up. they wouldn’t all want to do the same things at the same time, though it was usually a guarantee that he and yujin would have similar mindsets. their manager had gone off with their other members as well, leaving just the two of them, and their camera.

he started up another file, and held the camera out to get both himself and yujin in the shot as they walked. “our members wanted to do something else, so it’s just yujinnie and me now, and we’ve got to decide what we wanna do before we meet back up.” uncoordinated with one hand, he unzipped his bag to pull out a park map and hold it up to the camera, then handed it off to yujin so they could both look at it properly. he spoke half between towards the camera and towards yujin, “i was thinking, we should do a rollercoaster. but i’m not sure if we should do a virtual one, or a real one first,” though he ended up completely turning his attention to his friend to finish his thought, “what do you think?”

 Ever since his debut in the entertainment industry, Namwoo had been meaning to get back in contact with the girl who had ignited the first little spark of the passion for performing in him all those years ago, if only to thank her, if only to show her what it had grown into, to tell her it had never burned out. The first time he saw her again was on a Gold Star teaser image that left him hoping for a while, then waiting, impatiently, for a debut that was preceded by multiple MVs he could watch in an attempt to familiarize himself with her grown-up appearance that only made the wait feel longer, however.

Therefore, Namwoo had been the first to leave the waiting room Knight had been occupying ever since they had finished their pre-recording – performing two tracks on a music show brought with it the joy of early schedules and a long wait until the actual live show would start –, checking every door on his way until he found the label he had been looking for: Element. He could feel the warmth of adrenaline course through him as he raised a hand to knock, and he hesitated for a second even after someone on the other side had replied with a 'yes!'. Once he did step inside, though, a smile instantly spread across his features and he rushed in his greetings to the other members so he could get to her more quickly. “Yujin noona,” he began, and then a short, unprompted laugh broke through his lips – happiness so raw that it drowned out all the words he had prepared beforehand, “I wouldn't be here without you. Thank you. I've been meaning to say that for so long now.”

 eunjae was never at their most comfortable at parties. it varied deeply – smaller, more private ones, where they knew and were comfortable being around the people present didn’t affect them as much as the big ones. this after-party for gold star nation’s festival was closer to the latter than the first, and even the thought of it was enough to have them pursing their lips. they could’ve avoided it, eunjae’s seniority was such that they could’ve come up with something else, a different appointment they could say they scheduled before knowing about the party but it was difficult to dodge their managers, as much as they wanted to. whereas their attendance had come reluctantly, they were at the very least determined to have as much fun as they possibly could. that meant smiling and flirting a little bit, the way eunjae was comfortable with. they had very little expectation and that only meant things felt better when they somehow managed to charm someone enough for some making out or more. eunjae only stopped doing so for a moment, heading towards the bar to get themselves something stronger to drink. a glance to the side had their smile falling. “ oh. hi yujin. ”

if he thought he was out of the current events surrounding idol-dom, he’d been proven wrong with each second ticking away at the event. 

one faulty mistake, and he fails to recognize a group as an actual group — the shared room becoming the beginnings of understanding elements’ situation. turns out, you can teach an old dog new tricks. learn the new tides of how companies operate. yet, he can’t help but feel the pang of uneasiness that rests on his shoulders when he spots yujin backstage.

yeah, kim taejin ends up lost and ignorant. but he ties up loose ends when he walks forward, forgoing the greeting with an apology. “sorry about element...” and what he means is, sorry for neglecting to see the title faceted to your name in the idol industry, but it all comes out in an awkward grin. “what i meant was, sorry that i hadn’t taken the time to understand that element wasn’t a trainee group. and i can’t imagine how it feels to be disbanded..” his voice tapers off, slow and blurred when he taps his fingers against the nape of his neck searching for the remedy to make this conversation less painful.

“i mean — glad that your talents didn’t go to waste. your group did really well on stage!”
