you walked calmly across the boiling isles, ignoring the fact that some people were probably getting eaten right now. you sucked in a breath, your e/c eyes gazing up ahead.

"y/n," a male voice spoke, you whipped around to see that it was hunter. hunter had a scratch across his face, tears resting in his eyes.

you let out a quiet sigh and quickly wrapped your arms around his waist, patting his back. he quietly sobbed and hicced. "what happened? jeez, you got messed up, dude." as you looked at his injuries, he whimpered.

"th-t-they hurt- me," he struggled to get the last word out as he balled up his fist, angry that he couldn't defeat who he was trying to. "i'm sorry, it's okay, breathe," you murmured as you rubbed his back.

you slowly got the ground and pulled him closer to you, giving him a forehead kiss. he looked up at you with a slight smile and flushed cheeks. you smiled down at him.

"you're my bad but sad boy, and you're very strong, mkay? you're the strongest person i know!" you kissed him all over his face as he giggled. "y/n, stop, it's embarrassing," he mumbled, covering his red face. "you love it thoughh!" you gave him one last kiss on his forehead.

"you feel better?" you asked as you played with his hair, he sat criss-cross on the ground and nodded slowly. "keep doing my hair, though."

so, you did. you put it in a tiny pony tail and smiled at your progress. hunter got up, patted you on the head, and sprinted away.

he was cute, but a big doof.

i wish i could be someones' caregiver, taking care of a little might be hard work but i'm willing to be with them every step of the way. :]

a normal class day.

you were sitting on the roof, although students weren't allowed up there, you really could care less. you let out a heavy sigh and clutched your chest.

you held in sobs but a few broke free from your mouth, painful cries was all that could be heard.

you stood, your arms weak and your legs heavy, staring over the edge. nobody was outside,, this was a chance. you sucked in a breath and took a step closer to the edge, heart racing in your chest, almost too hard to contain.

"nobody is out here," you murmured, tears rolling down your cheeks. you let out a loud sob and crumbled to the rooftop floor.

someone placed a hand on your shoulder, it was cold, but soft as it gently squeezed you. you turned around to see a somewhat annoyed saiki standing before you.

he leaned down and opened his arms, you were surprised that..someone as cold as him was comforting you. if anything, you were expecting kaidou, or teruhashi, maybe even nendo.

"come here, so i can get this over with." he mumbled, letting out a sigh. you basically tackled him in a hug, squeezing him tightly. he stared at you blankly but hugged back after a bit of just laying on the cold rooftop floor.

"...don't die. it wouldn't be great for the rest of society, nor me." he said, stroking your head. he wasn't the type to show affection unless it benefited him, and in this case, you being alive was a great benefit to him.

you snuggled in close and he held you for a bit, just there. he let out a few sighs from time to time, but he didn't seem to be hating this. his skin had gotten warmer from your body heat, and his eyes had softened.

you felt a bit happier after that. you felt at ease.

"..back to class." saiki stood up, leaving you on the ground, and walked away.

you were just sitting and enjoying your lunch outside, the sun shining brightly. it was a pretty sunny day today. you had a bento with rice, meat, and 2 pieces of candy.

"y/n!" a familiar voice called out, running towards- er- panting and..somewhat running towards you. it was kaidou. his blue hair was messy and slick with sweat. he flopped onto the grass and into your lap, knocking your bento on the ground.

"damnit, my food- kaidou, what's wrong?" you asked, raising an eyebrow. he let out a groan and looked up at you before straightening himself up. "i missed you. where were you?" he murmured, crawling closer to you and giving you a tight hug.

you patted him on the back and reached over to grab your two pieces of candy you'd managed to save, giving one to him. his eyes lit up as he wolfed the piece down, a satisfied look on his face.

"you ruined my food, and my rice.." you quietly laughed, but kaidou didn't think it was funny. he seemed to panic and hugged you even tighter than before. as he let go he bowed and apologised 10 times.

you sighed. "it's fine, i'll eat later! thanks for apologising though, you're such a good friend." you smiled at him.

kaidou's face dropped. ",, yeah. thanks, y/n." he mumbled, looking to the side. he got up and dusted..non-existent dust off himself before walking away with an angry expression. you thought it was a bit strange.

you and kaidou had been friends for a while now, since last year. he never showed any signs of liking you as more than a friend, but lately, he'd been acting..pretty strange around you and other people.

"oh, y/n!" you looked up to see teruhashi. she ran over to you with a smile and sat down beside you, moving a piece of hair out of your face. "hi y/n! how's your day been?" she smiled at you. you and teruhashi were,, friends? maybe not, but she talked to you.

"uhm, okay, i guess. kaidou was acting weird," you mumbled the last part but teruhashi noticed you looked a bit down. "..was it kaidou?" she curiously asked. you let out a hitched quiet gasp, you didn't really expect her to know. but you nodded solemnly.

"i'm sorry, y/n! would it make you feel better if the perfect, pretty girl asked you out? not in a date way though! just in a friendly way!" she smiled, sparkles emitting off of her? the hell? you didn't question it, so you just nodded.

little did you know, kaidou saw the whole thing. anger boiling up in him. he walked away from watching you and teruhashi talk, and stood in front of a wall with a blank expression.

"teruhashi.." he mumbled, balling his hands into fists. "..i, I HATE HER!" he screamed, punching the wall with as much force as he had. "how dare she talk to my y/n! ..what if she's working with dark reunion.. ugh, that makes so much sense!" he almost started sobbing, putting his hands over his eyes to cover his face.

"they're gonna be at the arcade, so i'll be there. at uhm,, 3:19? they said 6:00." he recalled the details to himself, trailing off as the bell rang. woops. class.

time skip

as the students barelled out of PK academy, the day ending, kaidou followed teruhashi home, ducking in every bush he could find. sweat rolled down his forehead due to nervousness, but if it meant he could be with you, he had to do it.

kaidou gulped and pulled out the bat he had brought from home, walking closer to teruhashi as he raised it, until..he hit her over the head with it. she collapsed to the ground with a thunk. kaidou looked around frantically and picked her up, running (sort of) to his house.

he swung open the door and ran down to the basement. his mom was luckily out of town for a bit. he took the bandages off his hands and wrapped teruhashi's head which was bleeding a bit as he tied her to a chair.

"dark reunion may steal black beat, but i'll bandage myself up again later!" he smiled, proud of himself. he ran up the stairs and threw a quick outfit on and ran to the arcade as quick and,, maybe as slow as he could.

"where's teruhashi?" you looked at your watch sadly. it was 3:18. but, as if right on time, kaidou came through the door and ran over to you out of breath once again. "y-y/n! teruhashi told me,, to tell you,, s-she cancelled!" kaidou sputtered, coughing. "..oh, that uhm, makes sense." you nodded.

kaidou smiled slightly and held out his hand to you,

"but i'm still here, love."
