       she continued her way backwards into bathroom as her hand slowly lowered the zipper until it hit the end, then let her suit slide down her arms. the belt around her hips stopped the thing from sliding completely down as she paused on the doorframe, hands on her waist and eyes slightly narrowed.

      “ ah, so now i’m the cocky one? ” she said in a voice that was equal parts amusement and being feign offended. “ and fyi – i’m ALWAYS cute, grayson. always. ”

       her smirk went a little wobbly as she fought back a genuine smile, yet continued to try and act all coy as she undressed herself. her chin jutted at him, then she turned to enter the bathroom, finally clicking her belt off and letting it fall to the floor. “ are you gonna come or what? ” she shouted over her shoulder, ridding off the rest of her suit on her way.

       he leaned forward on the edge of the bed, pulling off the gloves of his suit as he intently watched what she was doing. he was surprised how far she went with this, not disappointed by any means, but definitely surprised. 

       “ yes. ” of course he knew who made their reputation out of cockiness in the first place, but he couldn’t deny that she was cocky. or that it was nice. “ you don’t think i know that? i mean, look what we’re doing, obviously i know you’re always cute. ”

       that last statement did it. she could’ve said anything and he would’ve reacted the same, but that definitely did it. he jumped up, peeling the spandex off him as fast as he could. it only took a few raced steps before he followed her into the bathroom. “ yes yes, see, i’m coming. ”

           “  what,  you  mean  to  say  you  don’t  like  the  bat  watching  your  every  move?  ”  barbara  frowns,  pausing  for  a  moment  as  if  to  pretend  to  deliberate  when  it  comes  to  the  promise  of  food  —  and  maybe  a  little  fresh  air.  (  some  of  which  could  do  her  some  good,  if  she’s  honest,  if  gotham’s  can  be  considered  ‘  fresh.  ’  )  one  hand  poised  at  the  wheels,  the  other  raises  with  a  flourish.  “  lead  the  way,  hunk  wonder.  ”

       “ nah, you’re right, every adult loves being micromanaged at every moment when they don’t even live in the city here anymore. ” he was more looking forward to the time alone with her, away from their... work. he loved doing what they did, but he did enjoy having time alone without it being about that. 

       he couldn’t help but smile at her nickname, this was one of his preferred nicknames out of all the ones he’d acquired. “ you keep calling me that and eventually you’re gonna have a complicated conversation with a poor cashier at an ihop. ”
