No matter how seemingly insignificant the moment feels in its present manifestation

Tomorrow it may make you smile

And that smile is a reflection of an inner happiness that you can never buy

I miss the view

I miss the breeze

I miss the life we had

on a road not so far away

in a time that seems forever ago

when the future held plans and dreams

and life was simpler

those at the top cannot remain at the top without those at the bottom

without support from below, everything is subject to collapse

where the water meets the mountains and the mountains meet the sky there are all shades of blue

sometimes it becomes difficult to distinguish where one ends and one begins

I'm pretty sure memories are like that

they are thrown together, and when we try to remember exactly what happened, we are sure we have the details right

but do we?

we are born just once, live just once, and die just once

focus on the living

we passed one another in the street and shared a look

you said something to me, but i don't understand French

I smiled

you smiled

there was something in the look we shared that made words unnecessary

I never saw you again

but I will always remember that look we shared

I hope you think about me from time to time
