Tom Bertram
I did not write here for long time now. Between my diploma and everyday work I just could not find time and inspiration for writing.
But anyway, because I am stressed about my diploma, I need music that calms me down. And who is better for that then Tom Bertram.
He is playing covers and songs which are (in combination with his voice) very relaxing.
youtube
Tom is British singer and songwriter from Portsmouth. After gaining an online following from YouTube views Tom released an acoustic EP in 2010 titled ‘Wasting Time’.
I actually found him od Twitter and instantly fell in love with his songs and his singing.

Koala voice
I found about this band on random evening about two months ago when my friend invited me to go to a party organized by slovenian Rock radio. All I knew was it’s new age rock party and there is band called Koala voice. We were sitting outside when band started playing and they impressed me immediately.
We went inside to listen to it. They were great. Singer of the band has some kind of “angry child” voice. It’s something new, good new.
So about a week ago I found out they are playing near our town. I convinced my friends they went to listen to them with me. And they were even better then the first time I listened to them.
Tumblr media
They were formed in 2010. Bands members are Manca Trampuš (guitar, vocals), Miha Prašnikar (drums), Domen Don Holc (guitar) and Tilen Prašnikar (bass guitar). They are playing indie, 70s rock and pop sounds.
Tumblr media
Crowd was dancing and singing along, I didn’t know so many people know about them. Their performance was full of energy. It was pleasure to watch and listen to them. Check them out, it is worth it.

Dubioza kolektiv made Arena go wild!
Maybe not the most interesting theme for everyone because it’s about bosnian band Dubioza kolektiv. But still, I got new kind of respect for them.
About two months ago my friends told me they are performing in Arena in Pula, Croatia in the end of the July. They told me ticket is cheap so I said why not. Well in few weeks tickets were sold out.
So last friday we went to Pula in the middle of the day. We came there at 6 pm and were waiting for some other friends to come so I was nerouvs we will miss the concert. But we didn’t.
First ones who preformed were band called S.A.R.S.. They were actually good, I didn’t espect that. But for me, best part of their performance was when they were playing their song Lutka.
Tumblr media
That is how it looked while they were preforming Lutka
After them Dubioza came to the stage. And that was when crazy part began. They have so much energy and they are just crazy. All people in Arena were singing and jumping around. It’s rare to see such an atmosphere.
Tumblr media
Dubioza kolektiv are a band from Bosnia and Herzegovina. They were founded in 2003 by Adis Zvekić and Almir Hasanbegović (former members of Gluho doba against Def Age from Zenica) and Brano Jakubović and Vedran Mujagić (former members of Ornamenti from Sarajevo). The band was later joined by guitarist Armin Bušatlić, drummer Senad Šuta, sound engineer Dragan Jakubović, and in 2011. by saxophonist Mario Ševarac as well.
Dubioza kolektiv are known for their fresh take on hip-hop, reggae, dub, rock and Bosnian folklore. Initially, the concept of the band came through an urgent need to voice the problematic issues in Bosnian society, while also showing the rest of the world that life in the Balkans exists outside of the familiar and overused media stereotypes. Understandably then, many of Dubioza Kolektiv’s lyrics revolve around themes of peace, understanding and tolerance, alongside an extreme criticism of nationalism and injustice; but what gives these lyrics weight is that they speak with the authority of direct experience.
Tumblr media
It’s a great experience to be at their performance. I’m not big fan of that kind of music but still it’s the energy that makes you go crazy while listening to them.

Animal music
Hello there. Today it was very productive day for me. Even though I was listening to jazz almost all day I think it’s time to change my music. I need some more energy and that’s why I decided to finally write something about d&b band known as Animal music.
I was planning to write about them for long time now. They were band that kept me awake last night last year’s Inmusic festival. Seriously, me and my friend were walking towards bridge to camp island and we stopped at hidden stage to se if anything interesting is going on.
There were few people and a band looked like they are packing their things. We almost continue walking when we met our french neighbours from camp. While we were talking on the side the band started their performance. It was crazy! You can get a picture about it here:
youtube
They are d&b band that just go insane on shows. They put so much energy in their performance that crowd just go crazy with them. I don’t usually listen to that kind of music but their music is special. So much energy, so much feelings .. It really shows they love to make music.
They have new project now - it’s called The Animal Cage. That’s weekly radio show on Youtube which streams live every monday at 7 pm. You can watch and listen here:

In the morning while searching for new tunes I found this singer. He got my attention right away.
Roo Panes is a young British songwriter and guitar player who never listened to much music. He finds inspiration for his songs in himself and his life.
His music makes me feel like I am in sort of “chillzone” - place where nothing else is matter then music and where all problem disappear. And I think this is one of best qualities in music.

Did you hear about Noah?
I woke up this morning and like always made my coffee and started looking for the song to start my day. I opened my subscriptions site and there it was. New upload from great singer Noah.
youtube
Noah Guthrie is very talented artist who actually started his career by putting covers of famous and popular songs on Youtube. First time he attracted big amount of attention was when he uploaded his cover for LMFAO song Sexy and I know it.
My personal opinion - one of the best covers I have had ever heard. He took popular ridicelous song and made sexy version of it - how it should be done at first place.

Dan Croll
Last friday night I went with my friends in our regular bar. Every friday they have Video mix going on - they have screen where music videos are played; usually there is not popular music you can hear everywhere.
Anyway, we were sitting there and suddenly I heard a song I didn’t know but it instantly got my interest. It was song called In/Out from Dan Croll. Video is ... not the best :D but song has this happy catchy beat that attracts me.

He is a British singer and songwriter born in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire, England. He moved to Liverpool when he was 18 to attend the Liverpool Institute for Preforming Arts. After that he won the national Songwriter of the Year award from the Musicians' Benevolent Fund and was one of eight students picked to have an individual lessons with Liverpool Institute for Preforming Arts founder Sir Paul McCartney. He is currently signed to Turn First Records.

When I listen to his songs I feel relaxed and carefree. All my problems just dissapear. I think this is one of the hardest things to do with a song but he obviously can.
